Chapter 1413 - 1409: I Want to Find a Contract Lover
After Constantine Stewart said those words, he didn’t make any other move. Instead, he gracefully opened the door and stepped out, thoughtfully securing the door behind him.
Chloe Winston stood there, stunned, with the lingering scent of the man on her lips, tasting like the bottled water she had bought. She wiped her slightly tingling lips and then huffed dismissively, thinking Constantine Stewart must have hit his head doing a reality show.
The man who’s normally so domineering suddenly acting all tender and emotional—it’s like a soldier known for drawing his sword at a disagreement suddenly trying to reason like a scholar from the village!
People don’t change so easily, and she’d be a fool to believe it. But Constantine Stewart constantly coming around to harass her like this isn’t a feasible solution either.
Chloe thought for a moment, then called Kyla Zamora. Kyla’s voice was loud on the other end, as if she was singing, and she shouted for Chloe to wait a moment before finding a quieter place to ask, "Chloe, what’s up?"
"I’m thinking of finding a contract lover. Constantine Stewart shows up here every other day, and it’s getting annoying," Chloe said with a frown. What irritated her, even more, was that Constantine liked to get handsy. Although he was handsome and in great shape, and skilled in bed, she had no interest in a casual fling with him.
She’d seen the cold side of his personality before, and it had left a shadow in her heart.
"A contract lover?" Kyla’s voice jumped an octave. Was Chloe Winston trying to stir up trouble? At the height of her popularity, what was she doing messing around with contract lovers?
"No, did Constantine Stewart harass you again?" Kyla paused for half a second before remembering the rest of the conversation, suddenly pacing back and forth in anxiety. Chloe was someone who wouldn’t bother others lightly; she preferred handling things herself, so for her to speak out, it must be serious.
"What did he do to you? Chloe, you better not hide anything from me." Kyla thought about a man like Constantine, endlessly charismatic, with scratch marks from Chloe on his face before. If she couldn’t control the situation, how could Chloe possibly manage against him? Kyla broke out in a cold sweat, hoping nothing serious would happen.
"Nothing, just kissing and hugging." Chloe said wearily, "I can’t figure out what he’s thinking, so finding a contract lover to use public opinion to deter him seems like a plan. The person’s influence should preferably not be too weak, ideally someone with some background in the circle. Outsiders with power won’t risk offending Constantine for my sake. I’m still young; a contract of two or three years until he finds a new target, gets married, and then we can terminate it."
"Chloe Winston, even within the industry, no one would want to offend Constantine Stewart for you." Kyla said sharply with a cold laugh. A thought suddenly struck her, and she quickly said, "Hold on, I’ve got someone in mind. I’ll make a call and get back to you."
Kyla quickly called Charles Taylor. Others might not know, but she certainly did—Charles came from a very prestigious family. Otherwise, how could he have taken such a high-end route right at the start of his career, staying popular in the Entertainment Sector for over a decade in such a ruthless place?
"Ms. Zamora, what can I do for you?" Charles Taylor was surprised to receive a call from Kyla Zamora. Although they had dined together twice because of Chloe, they hadn’t developed any deep connection.
Kyla took a deep breath, determined to push for the benefit of her artist as she shamelessly asked, "Mr. Taylor, our Chloe is interested in a contract lover. Are you possibly interested?"
