Chapter 1393 - 1389: Miss Is a Koi of Good Fortune
Wendy Starling rushed towards the hospital with three male guests who had escaped disaster. She handed out weapons to each of them, so even if they encountered zombies directly, they could fight them off.
"Sis, today you’re like six feet tall, so cool it brings a storm of tears." Desmond Wood excitedly held the gun, sweet-talking her, "Are those zombies taken down by Chloe?"
"Chloe and Mr. Stewart sniped from the east and west, covering two vantage points. They should be heading toward the hospital now; we’ve agreed to meet there." Wendy felt exhilarated saving the three men, absorbing their gratitude and admiration, finally feeling she could shine and contribute in the reality show alongside Chloe.
"How did you get in contact?" Charles Taylor was a very magnanimous person, readily admitting his skills were not on par with Constantine Stewart. Nonetheless, he had learned a lot from Stewart. This esteemed Mr. Stewart from Imperial City was known as a business legend, with immeasurable wealth. Perhaps no one knew that apart from those glories, his prowess was astonishingly strong.
"Chloe guided me doggedly to the hospital, where we ran into Mr. Stewart. Smart folks often have similar ideas, meeting was just natural." Wendy laughed casually, but her comment about "smart folks" hit the hearts of the three men present.
"If it were me, I would have thought to head to the hospital too." Desmond Wood huffed in refusal to be outdone.
"By the way, all our luggage is in the hospital. We’ve got abundant supplies, having cleared out the show’s base." Wendy said with delight.
The three immediately gave a thumbs-up, indicating they should keep moving.
By the time they reached the hospital, Chloe and Constantine Stewart had also arrived.
Chloe was swiftly surrounded by people, leaving Mr. Stewart somewhat sulking on the side as his little girl garnered so much attention.
"Close the doors. If they try to besiege the hospital today, we’ll clear out the entire show’s team." The man interrupted the greetings and chatter, speaking gravely with the gun in hand.
Everyone: "......"
That’s how gritty our Stewart brother is, a man of few words but fierce actions!
The show’s production side was a total mess.
"Director, they are all in the hospital. The air raid shelter below the hospital is actually the Time’s Gate, what are we going to do?" The assistant director reported breathlessly after scouting the area.
"Which bastard said to put the Time-Space Portal under the hospital?" Daniel slammed his chest, cursing in frustration, "Which bastard, I assure you won’t die by my hands."
All the luggage was at the hospital and they said they’d stage a decoy, intentionally avoiding zombies, but it ended being discovered and taken over as a stronghold.
Little Smith smiled a deathly smile, internally screaming—it was you, yes you, that suggested placing the Time-Space Portal under the hospital’s air raid shelter.
"Director, what should we do now? According to the game rules, we’re supposed to disclose the Time-Space Portal key’s information today." Little Smith asked weakly, looking grim.
"Where’s the key?" Daniel brightened up. Oh, right, the iron door of the air raid shelter is locked, needing a key to open.
"The key was dropped at the airport’s gas station." Little Smith said excitedly, "I’ll contact the airport team to hide the key in a secret spot right away."
"Go, go, go, hurry up." Daniel wiped the sweat off his face.
"Director, they’ve closed off the hospital’s iron gate. As our people approach, they get instantly eliminated, five have been knocked out already, no zombie dares to shuffle around there." A zombie returning from the frontline reported bitterly, "Director, could any of them be ex-military? The marksmanship is just too precise."
"Nonsense, half of you were taken down by Chloe—can’t even compare to a delicate young celebrity." Daniel’s temper flared again, these guests are potent, absolutely lethal, sabotaging the show.
"Bring my loudspeaker. Have everyone crowd before the hospital’s main entrance; as soon as they come out for the key, swarm and bite them directly." Daniel found his loudspeaker, considering the hospital’s high walls, not a chance Constantine Stewart could leap over them—falling from that height would definitely break a leg.
"Alright, I’ll arrange everyone to dog the area."
Daniel grabbed the loudspeaker, cleared his throat, and smilingly broadcasted the game rules, "Here’s the latest game rule broadcast: the Time-Space Portal key is located at the airport. Guests should quickly head to the airport to find the key. After 48 hours, the Time-Space Portal will disappear."
Daniel completed the new rule broadcast, then sat down, taking a sip of water.
After contacting the airport personnel, Little Smith returned and said weakly, "Director, the airport staff said they haven’t seen the Time-Space Portal key."
Daniel spat out water in shock.
Inside the hospital, after listening to the sly director’s latest broadcast, everyone looked at each other.
"We don’t even know where the Time-Space Portal is, and still need to find the key?" Desmond Wood looked blankly.
"Is the airport far from here? Taking out the middle 24 hours not counting recording, we actually only have 24 hours." Charles Taylor glanced at Chloe, as she was the only female guest coming from the airport side.
"A half-hour drive, Chloe brought me over driving, there’s a Beetle on the airport side, we abandoned the car when entering the town." Wendy quickly said, "The car’s just outside the town."
"The production team might take the car away. A half-hour drive, at the Beetle’s speed of 40 km/h, walking would take 2 to 3 hours; we can still make the round trip." Constantine Stewart commented casually.
"The production team will definitely ambush outside, can you fend off all the zombies?" William Zamora asked.
"No, for instance, while we’re meeting now, the zombies are probably circling the hospital’s entrance. This hospital has only one exit, the walls are too high, you can only exit from the main entrance and must face them head-on." Constantine Stewart said calmly.
"Looks like a face-to-face showdown." Desmond Wood showed an excited smile, shouldering his gun, "The grandpa takes one down after another."
Everyone rolled their eyes; idiot!
As everyone was heatedly discussing, Chloe, who had remained quiet, rummaged in her backpack and finally pulled out a key with the show’s logo and her misty big eyes lit up sweetly as she said, "Could this be the key?"
The key had a keychain with the reality show’s logo "We’re in Love" and it even had a cartoon depiction of Cupid in pink.
Everyone stared at the key Chloe took out: "!!!"
"Where did you get this key?" Constantine Stewart’s deep eyes were filled with mirth, his voice low, melodious, carrying a hint of cheerful joy.
"Found it on the ground, saw it had the show’s logo, so I tucked it into my pocket without a thought." Chloe blinked her beautiful large eyes innocently.
