"We’ll deal with the wolves first."

Gu Su frowned and thought seriously for a few seconds before making a decisive, unhesitating decision.

Compared to the unknown and bizarre Fluorescent Vine Building, the pack of Wild Swamp Wolves without a Wolf King to lead them was clearly a safer target. It was a chance to both gain Experience and test the combat effectiveness of his elite squad.

Most importantly, there were about twenty wolves here. That meant twenty corpses, which could be brought back and turned into twenty Skeletons or sixty White Crows.

These were the most important Resources for an Undead Mage.

’If you don’t farm weak troops for corpses and gather Undead before a fight, can you even call yourself an Undead Mage?’

And so, Gu Su made his decision without hesitation.

On Gu Su’s command, all but two of the White Crows were sent out again, leaving the remaining pair to lead the way.

Scouting could never stop. He was currently in desperate need of all kinds of materials. Only by continuously expanding his exploration range could he gather the Resources needed to upgrade the Graveyard Demon and further strengthen his territory.

After giving his orders, Gu Su took five Elite Skeletons and two Magic Skeletons and headed east of the Graveyard Demon at a brisk pace.

With the White Crows precisely guiding them from the front, they avoided numerous cluttered obstacles and potential minor troubles along the way, making for a smooth journey.

The journey was about two thousand meters, but Gu Su’s party didn’t stop, and they reached their destination smoothly in less than thirty minutes.

He quietly hid behind a dead tree, peeking out to look into the distance. He immediately spotted the strange pack of Rotting Skin Wolves, lounging lazily around a murky puddle.

Just as the White Crow had reported, the wolves’ skin was rotting over large areas. Beneath patches of sloughing, rotten hide, bright green muscle was exposed. They emanated a faint, foul stench of decay, looking exceptionally savage and terrifying.

Gu Su beckoned lightly. The White Crow that had first discovered the Wild Swamp Wolves immediately came fluttering down on its bony wings and landed obediently on his shoulder. Its dark eye sockets stared toward the puddle, awaiting orders.

"You go. Lure one over," Gu Su commanded in a low, firm voice, with no hint of hesitation.

The White Crow understood the command and immediately took flight. The beat of its wings was extremely light as it silently flew toward a Rotting Skin Wolf dozing on the ground.

Although the White Crow was a flying scout with zero Attack Power, as a corporeal Undead, the impact force from its flight was enough to pull an enemy.

Under Gu Su’s watch, the White Crow dove down sharply, slamming right into the Rotting Skin Wolf’s head.

The Rotting Skin Wolf was jolted awake. It let out a low growl, a vicious glint in its eyes, and lunged at the White Crow at once.

But the White Crow was small and nimble. With a light turn in mid-air, it deftly dodged the Rotting Skin Wolf’s pounce. Then it flew quickly toward the dead forest, intentionally slowing its pace to lure the wolf into pursuit.

The Rotting Skin Wolf, incensed and confident in its own agility, didn’t even think to wake its nearby companions. It simply lowered its head and chased after the White Crow alone, stepping right into the ambush Gu Su had prepared.

The moment it charged into the dead forest, two cold gleams of light flashed instantly.

Two Elite Skeletons, holding Long Spears made of Angle Iron, lunged with force, viciously plunging their spears into the Rotting Skin Wolf’s body and pinning it in place.

The Rotting Skin Wolf convulsed in pain. Just as it was about to open its mouth and roar to attract its pack, another Elite Skeleton’s Big Saber, made from a fan blade, had already swung down viciously. With a flash of cold light, it directly severed the wolf’s head. Blackish-green blood splattered onto the ground, and in an instant, it was dead.

[A Skeleton (Summoned Creature) has killed a Wild Swamp Wolf (Level 1). You have gained 2 Experience. Your Summoned Creatures have shared 4 Experience.]

A system prompt popped up at the right moment. Gu Su glanced at it and finally learned the true name of these Rotting Skin Wolves: Wild Swamp Wolves.

At the same time, from the fact that it had chased them alone and without any caution, he could tell that these Wild Swamp Wolves were not very intelligent—one could even say they were quite stupid. This made it convenient for them to be picked off one by one.

So Gu Su waved his hand, signaling for the operation to continue.

The five Elite Skeletons immediately moved forward with tacit understanding, quietly Lurking on both sides of the forest.

The two guide White Crows then took turns, repeatedly making tentative dive-bombs toward the Wild Swamp Wolves by the puddle, luring them one by one into the dead forest to be killed by the coordinated Elite Skeletons. The entire process was clean and efficient, without the slightest delay.

Just like that, by the time they had killed the ninth Wild Swamp Wolf, the pack resting by the small puddle finally sensed that something was wrong.

After all, in just a short time, nearly half of their companions had disappeared. Even with their low intelligence, they vaguely sensed danger, and their previously lazy posture instantly became vigilant.

So, when one of the White Crows dove down again to lure the next Wild Swamp Wolf, it didn’t pull a single one, but the remaining thirteen Wild Swamp Wolves.

They let out low growls in unison, their eyes bloodshot, and lunged at the White Crow together. A dense mass of figures instantly charged to the edge of the forest.

Seeing the entire pack of Wild Swamp Wolves move out together, Gu Su’s eyes narrowed. Without a trace of panic, he immediately gave a decisive order.

"Magic Series, prepare Magic Attack!

Elite Skeletons, advance and intercept! Hold the forest line, don’t let them get close!"

The moment the command was given, Gu Su himself immediately drew his Plague Cutter. He gripped the weapon, ready to join the battle at any moment, his sharp gaze fixed on the charging pack of Wild Swamp Wolves, poised for a fight.

The next second, the first few Wild Swamp Wolves burst out from behind the trees, pouncing toward the Lurking Skeletons.

Just then, two dazzling lights suddenly flared.

One red and one blue, exceptionally eye-catching.

The two Magic Skeletons simultaneously launched a Magic Attack. A Fireball Technique carrying scorching heat and a Lightning Arrow wreathed in crackling electricity precisely struck the two foremost Wild Swamp Wolves.

With two piercing shrieks, the two Wild Swamp Wolves were instantly hit by the Magic. Their bodies were sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground. After twitching twice, they lost all signs of life, as dead as could be.

Seizing this perfect opportunity, the Elite Skeletons immediately advanced in unison, coordinating with one another. Their weapons hacked and stabbed with precision, and in the blink of an eye, they worked together to kill two more of the charging Wild Swamp Wolves.

At the same time, they stood firm in front of the Magic Skeletons, buying precious time for them to cast their next Magic spell.

By now, the two Magic Skeletons had finished preparing their new spells. With another raise of their hands, two streaks of light—one red, one blue—shot out, precisely hitting the Wild Swamp Wolves charging from behind.

It broke the Wild Swamp Wolves’ Attack rhythm.
