Gu Su looked down at the items inside the chest and couldn’t help but smile. His gamble had paid off this time.

The 361 Gold Coins and 2 units of Gemstones alone far surpassed all his previous hauls.

Not to mention the remaining items, each of which was of extremely high practical value to him.

He first picked up the pale yellow Rat Bezoar, which was as hard as stone.

A cool sensation touched his fingertips, and it was wreathed in a faint Yin Qi.

He had heard of this thing before; it was one of the core fuel materials needed for the Yin Fire Heap.

With this, the graveyard’s Yin Fire Heap could be restored to full functionality and begin to automatically gather Yin Qi.

Next, he clenched the six smooth, round random seeds in his hand.

The seeds varied in size, and their shells bore strange patterns. They were clearly not from ordinary plants.

Gu Su was no Druid, so he couldn’t identify the specific varieties, but he knew he had lucked out.

Normally, in places with sufficient Yin Qi or in yin-aspected lands, the Undead Team didn’t need food. Even if they depleted their energy, they could simply return to the graveyard, replenish their Yin Qi, and be ready for action.

But as a human, he had to eat to maintain his stamina.

Being able to grow his own crops would undoubtedly solve a long-term survival problem.

Even if they didn’t grow into edible vegetables, they would have their uses. After all, "what’s good to eat is food, and what’s not is medicine."

These seeds would come in handy one way or another.

Next, his gaze fell on the lump of Corpse Oil, which looked like butter and was held in a shabby iron box.

A faint, rank odor wafted toward him.

This stuff was perfect for nourishing the Deceitful Tree and could speed up its recovery.

But Gu Su had a nagging feeling that there was more to this Corpse Oil than met the eye. The rat colony could not possibly have acquired such a special resource on its own.

If he followed this clue, he might find even more hidden secrets or supplies deep within the mall.

Finally, Gu Su picked up the main prize.

The Plague Cutter.

It wasn’t a blade in the traditional sense, but an exquisitely designed chainsaw about fifty centimeters long.

The front end was a guide bar about twenty centimeters long, with a chain pieced together from sharp fragments of rat fangs.

In the middle was a non-slip handle wrapped in black cloth and a miniature motor.

The rear was fitted with a small power pack, though the type of energy driving it was unclear.

Best of all, it was extremely lightweight, weighing just over a kilogram, making it effortless to hold.

Gu Su pressed the switch on the handle. The motor immediately let out a low hum as the fang-chain began to spin at high speed, gradually blurring into a faint green and emitting a pungent, rotten odor. This was clearly the flow of poison energy.

He gave it a couple of test swings. It handled smoothly, and its Attack Power and special effects were top-notch.

Empowered by the green-rarity Plague Cutter and with six new Skeletons by his side, the scale of his forces had expanded once more. Gu Su felt his confidence swell, and his courage grew with it.

The caution and restraint he had shown while scouting the periphery began to fade.

No longer content with searching for superficial supplies, he took the initiative, leading his Magic Skeleton and the six new Skeletons straight into the large supermarket in the mall’s core. He intended to delve deeper into its heart to search for more valuable things.

The moment he stepped into the supermarket, a thick wave of must and dust washed over him.

The dilapidated and desolate scene before him made him frown involuntarily, and his expectations plummeted.

Inside the vast supermarket hall, the once-neatly arranged shelves were all toppled and crooked. Some had their frames pierced by broken steel bars, while others were crushed and piled on top of each other, having long lost their former order.

The Metal frames of the shelves were covered in thick rust, looking as if they would shatter with the slightest force.

The wooden planks were even more decayed. They crumbled to dust at the slightest touch of a fingertip, having completely lost their ability to bear weight.

The storage area, once piled high with all sorts of goods, was now completely empty. The shelves, the floor, and even the cracks in the corners had been picked clean. Not even a scrap of food or a piece of packaging remained, let alone any intact items. It had clearly been ransacked by other survivors or monsters long ago.

What was more unfortunate was that most of the wooden parts of the shelves had rotted through. Even the few that were relatively intact were unusable due to long-term dampness and mold.

The Metal components had likewise not escaped the ravages of time. Rust had eaten deep into their structure, and many parts were rusted through or warped. Even if dismantled, they could hardly be used as effective materials and had almost no salvage value.

With the Plague Cutter held firmly in his hand, Gu Su walked slowly through the empty and desolate supermarket hall. The faint crunch of glass shards and rotten wood under his feet was exceptionally clear in the silent space.

His eyes swept quickly over each section—from snacks and daily necessities to fresh produce—checking them one by one. He refused to miss any corner that might hide overlooked supplies. He carefully inspected every gap under the toppled shelves and every hollow left by collapsed walls, hoping for an unexpected find.

But no matter how hard he searched, he couldn’t find a single useful item.

In fact, the collapsed shelves made it quite difficult for Gu Su to get around.

In the end, Gu Su simply had his Skeletons dismantle the toppled shelves. They removed the rusted iron bars and piled them all together to take with them.

In the process, however, Gu Su discovered something unusual.

The spot was just behind the fresh produce section.

According to the supermarket’s original layout, this should have been the freezer storage.

It would have been filled with fresh or frozen foods.

However, Gu Su didn’t think anything could possibly be left here.

He had only come over to take a curious glance inside.

He didn’t expect that one look would lead him to discover a small hole, not much bigger than a doggy door, and some Melted Corpse Oil.
