Chapter 2352: Do You Want to Take Back Your Own Research成果?
"Hmm." The girl’s eyes darkened slightly as she nodded, also ordering a drink, though she opted for a regular fruit juice.
Madeleine glanced at her, feeling increasingly uncomfortable, and lowered her head, using her thick glasses to hide her bad mood.
She had joined The First Research Institute the same year as Williansen Barness, neither of them having any background.
She was fortunate enough to be noticed by Nathan Garland of the Level 5 laboratory, while Williansen was assigned to the Level 4 laboratory.
At the time, she thought she was the lucky one because Nathan Garland valued him, whereas the person in charge of the Level 4 laboratory employed a strategy of neglect towards Williansen.
She remembered privately encouraging that person, whom she regarded as a younger brother, at the time, confidently telling him that whether or not they came from humble beginnings, as long as they worked hard, they would surely have their day.
Until...
All her dreams were crushed by the person she admired the most.
The waiter promptly brought over the orange juice.
Nathalie Quinlan reached out to take it, surprised to find the juice slightly warm. She instinctively looked back and saw Amadeus Yancey leaning casually against the counter, posing as the ’waiter’ there.
She twitched the corner of her mouth, withdrew her gaze, took a sip of the juice, then looked at the person staring dazedly at her: "Is Nathan Garland’s latest project actually based on your research findings?"
Madeleine suddenly raised her head to look at her, her eyes trembling, almost knocking over her coffee: "You, you..."
Nathalie knew immediately from her reaction what the truth was. She added a sugar cube to her coffee, and said lightly, "I looked into it. All of Nathan Garland’s research results over the years were provided by you, including some of the findings of his prized student, Zevaney Kingsley, which were also your work."
After placing a sugar cube into her coffee cup, Nathalie set down the tongs and leaned back, her dark eyes fixed on her: "Why do you give away your research findings to them for free?"
Madeleine went from initially shocked to panicked and then gradually calmed down. She clutched the plaid skirt she wore, looked up at the girl, as if bearing immense pressure over the years, her voice trembling: "He told me that if I didn’t let him have the research projects, they wouldn’t be able to be published. I... I poured my heart and soul into these projects as if they were my own children, and I didn’t want them to be buried underground forever, with no one knowing of their existence."
She could remain unknown, but hoped her painstaking efforts would shine in the vast world of science.
This thought had kept her going.
"I thought... even if they weren’t published by me, at least... people around the world would know about them."
Once Nathalie found out the ID was Nathan Garland’s, she immediately asked Emma Gabehart to investigate Nathan Garland’s background. It wasn’t difficult to investigate Nathan Garland, but the findings were so disgusting even Nathalie was revolted.
On the surface, Nathan Garland seemed focused on research, and over the years, he had produced the most results in the institute after Orson Saban.
But who knew he often seized his subordinates’ research results privately and claimed them as his own latest projects publicly.
Nathan Garland was a complete hypocrite; his pretentious behavior was a perfect match for Zevaney Kingsley’s!
After understanding why she remained silent even as Nathan Garland consistently appropriated her research findings, Nathalie raised her eyes and decisively asked her, "Do you want to reclaim your research achievements?"
