Chapter 354: Matter of Fact

"WHAT?!"

A feminine shout echoed in the chaos of the class, though no one noticed it, as the entirety of the academy was now discussing an event that had transpired just some moments prior.

John was startled at first, but knowing that the news was a shocking thing for Alicia, he didn’t let the shout affect his sense of normalcy.

Alicia had, at the end, shouted right next to his ear... something which wasn’t an enjoyable thing for the poor guy.

"But how could he do that? And had no one stopped their fight?!"

Alicia was confused, shocked, anxious while being frustrated at the same time.

John had just relayed the news of Victoria’s and Noah’s fight to her, but before he could continue further... Alicia had lost her mind.

The entire class... the entirety of the academy was currently in uproar from the news that had now begun to circulate, with even some videos being posted of the fight.

The vice president had once again indulged herself in another fight, and that too with a first-year, no less.

Noah’s name had begun to spread like wildfire, as it wasn’t every day one would see a commoner going against a noble, and that too against someone of Victoria’s status.

"Is Victoria alright?"

Kevin, seeing Alicia’s mumblings, asked the question that should have been the most important at the moment.

"Uh... she hadn’t suffered any lethal injuries, though Noah had indeed managed to hurt her a little."

Seeing the reactions of the Frost siblings, John tried to downplay the extent of the damage that Victoria had suffered, but... he had clearly failed at that.

"I need to see her."

Even before completing her sentence, Alicia was already on the move, the sound of her footsteps loud enough for the surrounding students to notice her and make way for the Frost, who didn’t seem to be in the best of moods.

"So was he defeated at the end?"

"Can’t say about that. The fight was a little messy, and well—"

"But Kael sure is something else."

The conversation among the students wasn’t that loud, but the mention of Kael’s name got Alicia’s attention, as she paused in her tracks before turning around to spot the person who had uttered her brother’s name.

"I was going to tell you, but you weren’t in the state of mind to listen to me. Kael... he and Noah had a fight after Noah’s evolution to the Gold core, and well... after him using some type of power-up to push his rank to the Platinum core—"

"Platinum core?!"

This time it was Kevin’s turn to be surprised as he walked from behind before standing next to Alicia.

"I mean... I have heard the seniors discussing that he was indeed in the Platinum core after using some type of spell or ability of his."

John clarified, but he himself wasn’t sure of the credibility of whatever he had heard.

After all, jumping from the Silver rank to directly become a Platinum core was something which any person with a sane mind would find hard to believe.

"And who won between them?"

Kevin’s curiosity got the better of him, making the guy forget that his sister should have been injured at the moment by the very same person whom he considered as his friend.

"Uh... that, I can’t be sure, but Noah had dropped unconscious during the battle, so maybe... Kael had won."

John scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

Maybe he should have verified all the rumours before coming to the class.

But things had progressed at a much faster pace than anyone could have expected.

"If what you had said is true then, Kael... how did he even survive against a Platinum core?"

Alicia had wanted to ask about Kael’s current status and whether he was injured, but Kevin’s question made her realise Kael’s rank was Silver 3.

The thought made Alicia anxious, as even if Noah had dropped unconscious... even a single blow from him should have had the power to severely injure Kael—

"That... Kael had evolved during the fight, reaching Gold 2 in the process. And knowing him... he was able to fight Noah fairly well after reaching the Gold rank."

"..."

"..."

John stated it as a matter of fact.

Alicia might not have known everything about Kael, but John had complete faith in his friend.

Even if Kael had fought Noah as a Silver 3 and defeated him... John wouldn’t have found it surprising.

On the contrary, it would have been surprising for John if Kael had lost the fight.

So after going through an evolution during a fight... something that should have been impossible to achieve, coupled with the increase in the tiers of the Gold rank... John thought that it was a given for Kael to win.

John’s statement, though spoken in his usual voice, had attracted the attention of all the students, as the entire class had turned silent at the same time, hearing the words uttered by the Bonner.

Alicia and Kevin, being related to Victoria, Noah, and Kael... were already in the spotlight, so it was a given for the students to listen in on their conversation.

"Uh... even I don’t have a clear idea of how all the things had played out, as I had been a little late in witnessing their fight."

With all eyes focused on him, John felt his confidence crumbling in real time.

"Let’s... let’s visit Victoria."

Everything felt too unreal for Kevin to believe, but knowing that John had no reason to lie to them, he decided to shift the focus of their discussion to Victoria once again.

Kevin’s words brought Alicia out of her thoughts, resulting in her taking a deep breath to calm her beating heart.

Why was it that her family was at the centre of every conflict out there?

Kevin was already on the move, while Alicia and John followed him from behind.

But they weren’t the only ones, as the representatives of the student council from amongst their class followed the trio as well.

Victoria wasn’t only a Frost, but also the vice president of the student council.

The new representatives had their own duties to fulfil, even if some of them were superficial in their approach.
