Chapter 105: The Capital Planet Test: 3S
The silence was terrifying.
Everyone’s eyes were glued to the numbers on the instrument. They held their breath. The chief examiner’s hands, hanging by his sides, were clenched into tight fists, and he didn’t dare move, as if he feared the slightest motion would affect the test results.
The data on the display screen climbed at a visible, rapid pace. As the numbers increased, the tension in everyone’s hearts grew heavier, and a bright light began to shine in their eyes.
The value surpassed A, then S, and then SS!
A staff member nearby, as if in disbelief, covered their mouth and gasped, "It’s still climbing!"
That’s right. The value didn’t stop after passing SS. It continued to rise, only at a slower pace than before.
Sophie Wexler was unaware of the situation outside the testing pod. She just kept releasing her spiritual power.
She knew she had reached SS-level during the last test, but she had been unconscious at the time and didn’t know the specific details. This time, however, was different.
Looking at the value in front of her, Sophie Wexler felt she still had strength to spare. In fact, due to her constant use of spiritual power recently—a repeated cycle of consumption and regeneration—this continuous stimulation had made her feel that her Spiritual Sea had expanded.
So, when she reached that value, she didn’t stop. She continued to release her spiritual power.
’I want to see where my threshold is.’
She had no idea what kind of shockwaves her actions were sending through the world outside.
From the moment Sophie Wexler’s test data appeared, the testing site for Group Two was in an uproar.
Just moments before, everyone had been gathered together, discussing how Group One had produced an S+ Healer-class.
"Are you sure? S+?!" someone asked in astonishment. "The Empire hasn’t had an S-level in years."
"It’s absolutely true. And they’re from a subsidiary planet, no less."
"Group One’s test Levels are always generally high, and now they’ve even produced an S. Their egos are going to be sky-high."
"We can’t even dream of that."
Just as he finished speaking, someone burst in. "Huge news! Our group produced a High Rank Healer-class!"
The others replied listlessly, "How high? A-level at most."
Normally, they would have been thrilled to see an A-level. After all, A had been the best Level produced in recent years.
But having just heard that the other group got an S-level, they just couldn’t muster any enthusiasm.
"No, not A!!!" the person stammered, incoherent with excitement.
"If it’s not A, it couldn’t possibly be S, could it?" Even they didn’t believe the words as they said them.
"It’s not S."
’See? How could two S-levels possibly appear on the same day?’
"It’s SS!" The two words he slowly spoke were enough to make everyone’s brains shut down. He quickly added, "And the test isn’t even finished yet."
BOOM!
Everyone’s minds were buzzing. ’Wait, did we just hear things? Otherwise, how could we have heard the term SS?’
’Is that even a Level that can appear in the Healer-class?’
"Am I still dreaming? Pinch me," someone said to the person next to them.
The other person, also dazed, reached out and pinched him.
"AH, it hurts!" The next second, with tears welling in his eyes, he shot up from his chair. "Holy crap, it’s real! We really have an SS here!"
The people in the observation room were having the exact same reaction.
The chief examiner watched the value on the screen as it crept, bit by bit, toward 3S.
It surpassed it!
The chief examiner felt his brain buzzing. ’3S! 3S!’
If Cillian Forrest hadn’t been there, he would have shouted out loud.
But the next second, with a sudden drop, the peak value plummeted.
Everyone: "???"
Everyone: "!!!" ’What’s going on?’
Then they saw the value begin to fluctuate, jumping back and forth on the threshold between SS and 3S.
Everyone’s hearts jumped up and down with the number. It was a true rollercoaster.
"What’s happening?" Cillian Forrest asked when he saw the phenomenon.
The chief examiner did his best to suppress his racing heart and explained, "It might be caused by unstable spiritual power."
Spiritual power isn’t static. It’s in a constant state of flux, which can cause some fluctuations in the readings during a test.
However, the range of fluctuation for most people is relatively small, and their Spiritual Power Level doesn’t change much after awakening. It’s completely unlike Sophie Wexler, who was actually jumping between two Levels.
One must understand that after S-level, every leap to the next Level is incredibly difficult.
’How could she be like this?’
After hearing his words, Cillian Forrest understood almost immediately. It was because she was still in her secondary growth period. Her spiritual power hadn’t been completely graded yet, which was why this was happening.
Now, everyone in the testing room was staring at the fluctuating data.
They had only one thought in their minds: could it surpass 3S?
Could it?
The question in everyone’s hearts was finally answered. The answer was: Yes!
The fluctuations in the value gradually lessened, and its speed slowed, finally creeping over the line before coming to a stop.
The chief examiner’s eyes were glued to the data displayed on the screen, completely unable to look away. His heart was filled with utter shock!
He was looking at a Healer-class rating that had never before appeared in the history of the Empire.
For a moment, he even suspected his eyes were deceiving him, his mind feeling light and floaty.
"It’s 3S!" someone beside him exclaimed, breaking the silence in the room.
Instantly, the entire room erupted in an uproar.
Only at this moment did he dare to believe it. The shock in his heart was unparalleled. It really was 3S—a miracle for the Empire!
He never imagined a High Rank Healer-class would appear in his Group Two, let alone one with such an unprecedentedly high Level!
"There’s hope for the Spiritual Sea problems of High Rank individuals!"
The Spiritual Seas of High Rank individuals had been an intractable problem for years. Their spiritual power was incredibly formidable, but the constant scouring from its rampaging force caused their Spiritual Seas to become damaged, ultimately shortening their lifespans.
How could he not be excited?!
He turned his head and looked at Cillian Forrest excitedly. "Marshal, it’s 3S! Our Empire has actually produced a 3S Healer-class!"
Cillian Forrest looked at the data and the excited man before him, the corners of his lips slowly curling up. "Yes, I see it."
He saw the result.
He hadn’t expected her spiritual power test to reach 3S this time, either.
No wonder she couldn’t absorb those Crystal Stones after healing Felix York in the Seventh Legion last time.
It was because of the change in her Level; she no longer needed those Crystal Stones.
Cillian Forrest stood by the window, watching the person emerge from the testing pod below, the smile on his lips gradually widening.
He knew she could do it.
Just then, as if sensing something, Sophie Wexler glanced up in the direction of the upper floor.
