Chapter 98 - 99: Heading to the Capital Planet

"General York?" Sophie Wexler was all ready. When she pushed the door open, she was a bit surprised to see who was standing outside.

"What are you doing here?"

"The Seventh Legion is escorting the Healer-class individuals to the Capital Planet this time," Felix York explained his presence.

’The Empire usually sends people for the pickup. For the Seventh Legion to be the escort this time... It seems they want all the legions to gather on the Capital Planet. Well, that’s fine. He was bound to go there sooner or later anyway.’

"Let’s go, Miss Wexler."

"Alright," Sophie Wexler replied.

The group boarded a flier and headed to the rendezvous point.

The rendezvous point was set at the Seventh Legion’s base, and Healer-class individuals from all over Karath were gathering.

There were already quite a few people there. Those who knew each other gathered in small, scattered groups to chat.

This was their first time traveling to the Capital Planet, and everyone was full of longing and anticipation for what it would be like.

"I wonder what the Capital Planet is like. I’m so excited."

"The technology on the Capital Planet must be far more advanced than on Karath, right?"

"Of course."

"I wonder what kind of person I’ll be matched with this time."

"Rosalind, your Level is high, so you’ll definitely be matched with someone of High Rank. I heard Howard Sharp is already on the Capital Planet," someone standing next to Rosalind Rhodes said with a playful smile.

Rosalind Rhodes’s lips curved slightly. "It’s not certain yet. We’ll see what the matching results are."

Just then, a quiet murmur arose from nearby. "Who’s that? Why is she with the soldiers?"

They watched as a group approached. A woman stood out conspicuously among the soldiers, and everyone noticed her the moment she appeared.

"You don’t know? That’s Sophie Wexler," someone said in a low voice.

"You know those songs that are super popular on StarNet right now?"

"Yeah, I saw the artist is someone named Sue Shiver."

"What do you mean, ’Sue Shiver’?" the person immediately interjected, a hint of excitement in their voice. "Sue Shiver *is* Sophie Wexler! She’s huge on StarNet right now, with tons of fans. I can’t believe I’m seeing her here."

"Wasn’t Sophie Wexler hated by everyone online before? Her reputation was terrible. And didn’t people say she harmed Rosalind Rhodes?"

"Shh, quiet down," that person said, glancing over at Rosalind Rhodes not far away to indicate she was right there. Then they lowered their voice. "That’s ancient history. How long has it been since you’ve been on StarNet?"

"I was on another planet," the person explained. "I just got back a couple of days ago."

"Oh, then it’s normal you wouldn’t know." After all, the StarNet doesn’t connect between planets right now.

"Who knows if those negative rumors from before were even true? But she’s definitely really popular now."

"Who’s that person walking next to her? Judging by the uniform, his rank seems pretty high."

"That’s our General." There were many soldiers nearby responsible for boarding and security, and one happened to overhear and replied.

"Sophie Wexler is actually walking with your General?!" someone exclaimed in disbelief. "Is your General that... approachable?" They searched their mind for a moment before finding a suitable word.

"Of course a normal person couldn’t, but that’s Miss Wexler," the soldier said, their tone making it sound like the most obvious thing in the world.

’Miss Wexler is a benefactor to our Seventh Legion. It couldn’t be more normal for her to walk with the General.’

Not far away, Felix York was giving instructions to a soldier beside him, who nodded repeatedly.

Then, a voice came through the PA system, transmitted precisely into everyone’s ears.

"Attention, all Healer-class personnel. We will soon depart for the Capital Planet. The Seventh Legion will be responsible for your escort. Now, please begin boarding the warship in an orderly fashion." The deep voice reached every person’s ears.

As the voice faded, a massive warship slowly descended from the sky. The soldiers began guiding everyone to board in an orderly manner.

Rosalind Rhodes’s previous Level test was A-level. There were only a few A-level individuals, so her position in the line was near the front.

While others were boarding, she lifted her gaze to Sophie Wexler’s figure in the distance, her thoughts unreadable.

A Healer-class individual on friendly terms with her followed her gaze, then turned to a nearby soldier and asked, "Why isn’t Sophie Wexler boarding?"

"Oh, you mean Miss Wexler? She’ll probably be with our General," the soldier replied naturally, a hint of familiarity in their voice.

’Miss Wexler has spent so much time with them, so of course they’re familiar.’

’With Miss Wexler’s abilities, the General must have his reasons for having her in the main cabin. Maybe she’s needed to help soothe someone or clear toxins.’

"She’s just a low-level Healer-class who sang a few songs! What right does she have?!" the person snapped, their voice instantly filled with scorn and indignation.

The soldier’s expression changed instantly. They looked at her grimly. "Watch your mouth."

’Even a Healer-class has no right to slander Miss Wexler.’

The person was about to say more, but Rosalind Rhodes quickly reached out, grabbed her arm, and shook her head, signaling for her to stop. Then she said to the soldier, "I’m sorry, she just speaks her mind without thinking."

The soldier’s expression didn’t soften. "Please board the warship now," they said sternly.

Rosalind Rhodes nodded and pulled the person beside her onto the warship.

The person was still fuming. "Why’d you stop me? After how Sophie Wexler treated you before, does she think apologizing and leaving the Wexlers Family makes it all go away?!"

"She thinks giving you some Crystal Stones cancels out her vicious behavior from before? She’s doing so well for herself now, but I don’t see her making it up to you."

"Stop it," Rosalind Rhodes cut her off. "She has already left the Wexlers Family, and she didn’t really do anything to me."

The person was still angry, feeling that Sophie Wexler didn’t deserve any of this, but since Rosalind Rhodes had spoken, what else could she do?

They boarded the warship.

Meanwhile, Felix York was about to board the main ship when he noticed Sophie Wexler had stopped. He asked in confusion, "Miss Wexler, what’s wrong?"

Cillian Forrest also followed Sophie Wexler’s gaze, but all he could see was the group of people boarding over there.

"You know someone in that group."

’I had just seen Rosalind Rhodes, the original female lead of the story.’

Sophie hadn’t seen her in a long time, and the sight had momentarily stunned her.

’But it makes sense. She’s a Healer-class, and an A-level one at that from the very beginning. Of course she’d attend the matching banquet, so seeing her here is perfectly normal.’

’I’ll probably see her at the matching banquet later, too. I’ll just have to do my best to avoid her then.’

The figures over there had completely disappeared from view.

Sophie Wexler gathered her thoughts, pulled back her gaze, and shook her head. "It’s nothing. Let’s go."

Seeing her like this, the others didn’t say anything and boarded the warship.

Everyone was aboard, and all preparations were complete. Hearing his subordinate’s report over the communicator, Felix York acknowledged it.

Then, he opened the ship-wide communication channel and issued the command in a resounding voice: "All hands, depart!"
