"So, Boss Zheng, you’re determined to stop us." Mu Jianni couldn’t help but grip Jiang Xinghai’s arm tighter.

"Miss Mu, you’ve misunderstood. I’m not trying to stop you deliberately, just addressing the matter at hand."

Zheng Dong took a long drag on his cigar. "My objective is simple. I’ll preside over this matter and determine who was right and who was wrong. If you were in the right, I’ll have them apologize. If not, you’ll apologize. That’s reasonable, wouldn’t you say?"

As he spoke, he looked over at Zhang Rui.

The families of both Mu Jianni and Zhang Rui were comparable in status to his Zheng Family.

Zhang Rui, however, paid Zheng Dong no mind, turning her gaze to Jiang Xinghai instead.

"If that’s the case, let’s have some tea before we leave."

Before the words were even out of Jiang Xinghai’s mouth, Zhang Rui had already brought over a stool.

"Master, please sit. I’ll go brew some tea," Zhang Rui said, quick on the uptake.

"No need. A beer will be fine to pass the time," Jiang Xinghai said, waving her off.

Without another word, Zhang Rui brought a case of beer over from the front desk.

Mu Jianni personally brought over a stool as well.

And just like that, one man and three women began to drink at the entrance of the main hall.

The corner of Zheng Dong’s mouth twitched relentlessly at the sight.

’How improper!’

’The young ladies of two second-rate families were actually competing to curry favor with Jiang Xinghai?’

’This is simply preposterous!’

Yet, he said nothing. Instead, he beckoned Manager Wang to his side and asked quietly, "Still haven’t found out who this man is?"

Manager Wang was left speechless. He hadn’t investigated at all.

He wanted to say that it was Zheng Dong’s fault. His boss had confidently declared he could resolve the matter himself, so he hadn’t bothered to investigate.

However, he also knew that discovering Jiang Xinghai’s identity in such a short time would be no easy task.

"Boss Zheng, can you really tolerate their brazen behavior?" Mrs. Qi asked, hobbling over.

Patriarch Qu’s face was also filled with rage, but he managed to suppress it. "Boss Zheng, to be perfectly honest, my older cousin is about to arrive in Central State. He is a Great Venerable."

"What!" Zheng Dong went rigid upon hearing this.

"That’s right. He’s already off the highway and will be here in ten minutes, at most," Patriarch Qu stated grimly.

"Excellent!"

Zheng Dong felt a wave of relief. He then ordered Manager Wang to bring over a table and some beer.

"If that’s the case, let’s have a few drinks with them."

At his bidding, Patriarch Qu, Mrs. Qi, and the others sat down one by one.

DONG... DONG... DONG...

A few minutes later, the grandfather clock in the hall chimed eight times.

"This is getting tedious. I’m going home to sleep."

Jiang Xinghai had no time to waste on such petty squabbles.

He shot to his feet, and Shen Lingyin, Mu Jianni, and Zhang Rui stood up one after another.

"Thinking of leaving?"

Zheng Dong saw Jiang Xinghai and the others’ movements and immediately stood up as well. "This matter hasn’t been settled yet. I think you should stay and continue drinking. Tonight, it’s on the house."

"Get lost!"

With Jiang Xinghai’s cold shout, a beer bottle flew through the air.

"Mere Grandmaster power!" Seeing the beer bottle flying straight at him, Zheng Dong showed no fear. Instead, he gave a wild smirk and channeled his energy into a counter-strike.

CRACK!

The beer bottle exploded in mid-air.

Shards scattered in every direction.

"Thinking of leaving? It won’t be that easy!" Zheng Dong said, his words threatening, but his expression deceptively pleasant.

Clearly, he had no desire for a fight to the death with Jiang Xinghai’s group.

"We wish to leave. Who can possibly stop us?"

Jiang Xinghai’s gaze swept over the crowd. "Let me say this one last time. I have no desire to stoop to your level. I’ve tolerated your pathetic display time and again. If you don’t get out of my way, no one in this room will be leaving here alive tonight."

HISS!

Upon hearing his words, Zheng Dong and the others couldn’t help but draw a sharp breath.

’Such arrogance?’

Zheng Dong didn’t pay it much mind.

The others, however, were a different matter.

They considered the possibility: if the Zhang and Mu Families were to mobilize their forces simultaneously, it would inevitably lead to a fight to the death.

"Is there no law anymore?"

As the oldest person there, Mrs. Qi jabbed her cane hard against the floor. "My grandson was thrown from the third floor by you people! He’s injured, with broken bones! Do you really think you can just walk away?"

"Exactly! You can leave, but first, you’ll kneel and apologize. Then, you’ll cripple one of your own arms!"

"So what if the Zhang and Mu Families get involved? If our families band together, you won’t come out ahead!"

"At least one crippled arm! Otherwise, nobody is leaving!"

Everyone, including Zheng Dong, got up and blocked the doorway.

"Fine. In that case, none of you will live to see tomorrow’s sun."

Jiang Xinghai raised a hand and lit a cigarette. His words were delivered nonchalantly, but they carried the authority of someone with the power over life and death, sending another chill through the onlookers.

"Everyone, make way!"

Just then, an urgent shout suddenly came from outside the door: "Dad, my uncle is here!"

"My cousin is here!"

Patriarch Qu’s face lit up with joy. "Quick, quick! Everyone, make way! My cousin is here!"

"Excellent!"

"The Great Venerable has arrived!"

"He’s arrived just in time!"

Zheng Dong, Mrs. Qi, and the others were overcome with relief.
