Chapter 420: The Stubborn Woman
"Master, if we’re to go into the cave and drag out the python, then these buildings..." Yan Qingshan said, looking around.
"This restaurant can go," Jiang Xinghai said, nodding.
His meaning was clear. Liu Biao and his men were implicated in too many cases, and this restaurant no longer needed to exist.
"This servant understands," Yan Qingshan said, taking the hint. He then turned and left.
"Wait. Move the freezer from the kitchen first. There are Snake Gallbladders inside that can be used for medicine," Jiang Xinghai reminded him.
Yan Qingshan nodded again. After handling the arrangements, he led the convoy and razed the restaurant to the ground.
Jiang Xinghai sat at the mouth of the cave, stopping the bleeding for the grievously wounded Liu Biao, who was on the verge of death.
This man couldn’t die just yet.
Jiang Xinghai had already contacted the local authorities, who were on their way.
"The townspeople outside are all gathering. Do we need to explain anything?" Leng Ning asked as she walked over.
Jiang Xinghai smiled and shook his head. "No rush. We’ll wait for the local authorities to arrive before we explain."
Regarding the giant python, Jiang Xinghai believed that even without an explanation, the locals had surely heard enough rumors to be well aware of the situation.
What needed explaining was simply who Liu Biao was and why the restaurant had been demolished.
However, Jiang Xinghai thought it over. ’Would the locals really not know what kind of person Liu Biao is?’
So, there was no need for them to explain. They could just leave it to the local authorities.
"Master, if you and Miss Leng would please step aside, I will send my men into the cave to drag out the giant python," Yan Qingshan said as he approached, carefully coordinating everything.
Jiang Xinghai said, "Remember, after the giant python is dragged out, you are to guard the cave entrance. Do not allow anyone to enter."
Yan Qingshan nodded.
With that, Jiang Xinghai and Leng Ning rose and departed.
Just then, police cars began to arrive. They first set up a police cordon, pushing the crowd of onlookers back a hundred meters.
A woman in uniform with a sharp gaze immediately looked toward Jiang Xinghai.
"You must be Officer Miao. I’m Jiang Xinghai, the one who filed the report. This is the suspect Liu Biao’s handwritten confession," Jiang Xinghai said, approaching with Leng Ning after noticing the impressive officer’s rank insignia.
"I am Miao Cuicui. Hello." The uniformed woman readily took the notebook, her eyes never leaving Jiang Xinghai.
They had been keeping an eye on Liu Biao for a long time, but stymied by a lack of evidence, they hadn’t made an official move.
She’d never imagined that a man who seemed to be here just for sightseeing would be the one to dismantle Liu Biao’s entire den in one fell swoop.
"Officer Miao, I have the suspect under control. You can send your people to take him away," Jiang Xinghai said, pointing toward the cave entrance.
Miao Cuicui nodded. "I’ll take a quick look at the notebook first."
She quickly flipped through the scrawled handwriting. They actually had files on every crime listed, but the notebook’s records were far more detailed, which made her face light up. "This evidence is crucial. Thank you, Mr. Jiang."
"It was nothing," Jiang Xinghai replied, not taking the credit.
"However—"
Miao Cuicui’s tone shifted. "The collapse of this restaurant... was that your doing? And the people who went into the cave, did you call them here too?"
"Yes. Is there a problem?" Jiang Xinghai retorted.
"Mr. Jiang, it’s a huge problem," Miao Cuicui said, her expression turning cold.
Leng Ning stepped forward. "Officer Miao, we helped you capture a criminal suspect. We just destroyed a few buildings. How big of a deal can that be?"
"Willfully destroying someone else’s property is a crime on par with murder and arson. You tell me how big of a deal it is," Miao Cuicui shot back.
"Leng Ning, back down," Jiang Xinghai said, reaching out to pull her into his arms.
’Otherwise, if Leng Ning were to so much as unleash her aura, an ordinary Martial Artist like Miao Cuicui wouldn’t be able to handle it.’
"Also, you can’t just capture wild animals whenever you please! And it’s not something ordinary people are capable of doing. Get your people out of there right now, or they won’t even know how they died," Miao Cuicui said, pointing at the cave as she started to run toward it.
She was, of course, well aware that there was a giant python inside this cave.
But it had been blocked by a stone door for years, and with streams and wild prey inside the cave, the python had never come out to wreak havoc, so the local authorities had simply turned a blind eye.
But now, the situation was different.
’Such a stubborn woman,’ Jiang Xinghai thought, nonplussed.
"I’ll just take care of her," Leng Ning said, watching Miao Cuicui run off.
"Old Yan is there," Jiang Xinghai said, starting to walk forward with Leng Ning following behind.
As they watched, Miao Cuicui reached the cave entrance, shouting into her radio for backup as she ran.
Yan Qingshan, who was in charge of guarding the cave entrance, naturally blocked Miao Cuicui. "If you don’t want to die, stay away from here."
"Are you threatening me?" Miao Cuicui’s expression changed as she pointed to her uniform.
"I don’t care who you are." Yan Qingshan was the President of the Central State Martial Arts Department; in terms of rank, he was equivalent to the top official in Central State!
A mere precinct captain for the Phoenix Mountain scenic area was naturally beneath his notice.
However, Miao Cuicui didn’t recognize Yan Qingshan and was about to draw her firearm.
Unexpectedly, however, Jiang Xinghai walked up from behind her, reached out, and plucked the gun from her hands. In a flash, he dismantled it, the pieces scattering across the ground.
