Jiang Xinghai and Leng Ning exchanged a look, and both saw the annoyance in each other’s eyes.

"Young Master Sun, Young Master Schmuck, whatever. Why should we give him our seats?" Jiang Xinghai said with a dismissive wave of his hand.

"Sir, please keep your voice down," the waitress in the qipao said, her tone still polite. "It’s fine if you don’t know who Young Master Sun is, but you should watch what you say. If anyone hears you being disrespectful and word gets out, you might not live to see tomorrow."

"So, from the looks of it, if we don’t move, you’re planning to throw us out?" Jiang Xinghai asked coldly.

Seeing that Jiang Xinghai was refusing to play along, the waitress frowned. "I suggest you know what’s good for you. Otherwise, it won’t be a simple matter of just getting thrown out."

As she spoke, she glanced at the time. "Hurry it up. Young Master Sun will be here in five minutes, tops!"

By the end of her sentence, the waitress’s tone had turned sharp. She held a walkie-talkie in her hand, looking as if she was about to call security.

"I said we’re not moving, and that’s final. If you keep standing here barking, I won’t hesitate to throw you out that window." Jiang Xinghai looked back at the waitress, his expression cold. "I’m not joking."

"You!" The waitress’s polite mask finally dropped.

Leng Ning spoke up then. "So he’s just some young master from the Sun Family? We’re supposed to move just because he says so? What kind of bullshit is that? Do you have any idea who this gentleman in front of you is? You worthless snob, just hurry up and bring us our food."

"You two!" The waitress’s face instantly turned pale.

’This man and woman have some nerve!’

"What’s going on? What’s happening here!"

Just then, a pot-bellied man in a suit rushed over. He chided the waitress while glaring at Jiang Xinghai and Leng Ning. "Why isn’t this window seat clear yet? Young Master Sun is already downstairs!"

"Manager, I’ve tried everything, but they just won’t move," the waitress said, nearly in tears from frustration.

"Let me handle this."

The manager’s face hardened. Sizing up Jiang Xinghai and Leng Ning, he suppressed his fury and said, "Perhaps the two of you don’t know who Young Master Sun is, but surely you’re familiar with the Sun Family, one of the Eight Great Martial Arts Families of the Provincial City?"

"And what of it?" Jiang Xinghai said nonchalantly, lighting a cigarette.

"You..."

The manager looked at Jiang Xinghai’s defiant posture. He was about to explode with rage, but he forced himself to say, word by word, "For Young Master Sun to dine here is an event of the utmost importance for our Gathering Talent Tower!"

"I don’t get it. This Gathering Talent Tower is a huge place. Why insist on us giving up our seat?" Jiang Xinghai took a slow drag from his cigarette, his eyes fixed on the manager.

"It’s because from this window seat, you can see the building across the... Why am I even explaining this to you?" the manager barked. "Don’t push your luck. Move to a table downstairs now, and I’ll give you a thirty percent discount. Otherwise, don’t blame the Gathering Talent Tower for getting physical."

"You can try," Jiang Xinghai said unhurriedly.

The manager glanced at the waitress. "Get security up here!"

Just as the waitress was about to press the call button, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed from the stairwell.

THUD. THUD. THUD.

The heavy sound of those footsteps made both the waitress and the manager shudder.

’Sun Jiaping... Young Master Sun!’

Sure enough, they both turned to look. A man, at least six and a half feet tall and weighing over three hundred pounds, descended the stairs. His tiger-like eyes were chilling.

He was tall, imposing, and broad.

His entire body was a mass of over-the-top muscle, and combined with his ferocious glare, he looked just like a giant chimpanzee. His presence was overwhelming and intensely pressuring.

"Young Master Sun, you’re here!" The manager couldn’t be bothered to argue with Jiang Xinghai any longer; he just shot the waitress a pointed look.

He hurried to greet Sun Jiaping, while the waitress started calling for security.

"Manager Sun, where is my seat?"

Sun Jiaping’s beefy face was a grim mask as his gaze landed on Jiang Xinghai and Leng Ning.

"Young Master Sun, my apologies, my deepest apologies! I was just arranging your seat, but that damned couple doesn’t know what’s good for them and refuses to move. Don’t worry, I’ll have them thrown out immediately!" The manager’s legs were trembling, and cold sweat dripped down his face.

Standing before Sun Jiaping, he looked like a pipsqueak, so small he could almost be ignored.

"Throw the man out. As for the woman..."

Sun Jiaping’s greedy eyes were fixed on Leng Ning. His hands subconsciously made a few grasping motions in the air as he licked his lips and walked forward. "She, of course, will be staying to serve me."

’If he didn’t have more important matters to attend to, he would have slammed the woman to the ground without a second thought and used every trick he knew to make her beg for mercy.’

’But for now, he had more important things to handle. He had to suppress his urges, just for a little while.’

The pot-bellied manager smirked triumphantly, his expression seeming to say: ’I asked you nicely to leave, and you refused. Now you can’t leave even if you want to. One of you gets thrown out, the other stays to serve Young Master Sun. You brought this on yourselves!’

"This is really ruining the mood."

Jiang Xinghai looked at Leng Ning. "Maybe the Gathering Talent Tower should change its name to the Dog Gathering Tower."

"Wouldn’t that mean you’re insulting us, too?" Leng Ning asked with a startled laugh.

"I meant after we leave," Jiang Xinghai said with a dramatic smile.
