The Witch, Who Once Was Called A Saint

Episode Six: The World Witches Were Longing For (1)

It was 400 years ago.

The situation in the Kingdom, which was attacked by the Imperial Army, was bad, and the front line was in a situation where it was not known how long it would last.

The kingdom had lost many soldiers and cold winds were blowing in the capital as well.

At that time, a group of magicians existed in the Wang capital who were secretly trying to perform summonses that were considered more forbidden than in ancient times.

Summoning is supposedly forbidden because of the low success rate in the first place, but because of the high recoil bouncing back on the surgeon and, above all, the apostle from the other world, without help, is supposedly taking the life of the surgeon and going straight back to the other world.

Still, the kingdom tried to rely on the power of messengers from different worlds because it had to rely on a glimmer of light, possibilities.

And it was the dragon covered in white scales that was summoned.

Around his breath, the circumstantial White Dragon laughed off and gave him his own blood.

- If he can drink the blood, and still live, then he will have power over man. However, anything intolerable will return to ashes.

The dragon who left behind said so went straight back to the other world.

Then many drank blood. And many lost their lives.

The last of them drank blood when there was also only a small amount of blood left and the light of hope was almost engulfed in darkness.

(- That's me)

A friend, who was the Lord of the demonic stones held by Astraia, has also lost his life by the blood of a dragon.

Friends who drank blood before Astreia left words at the end of the day for Astreia.

'I will make the world peaceful, so let's celebrate then', he said.

"... he wants to use summons to find a way to die. I don't know if I can tell that girl."

A summons that was once exercised to protect people and also caused them to take the lives of their friends.

No one expected to become immortal, but what Astreia is about to do now is the opposite of what it was then. Turn away... you will die, you will exercise your summons to die. Complicated about that...... not that I don't have backwards feelings.

It was the same when the summons was previously made.

But all I can think of as a clue is to call the dragon anymore.

I told myself that I had backwards thoughts, but that was all I had.

And somewhat away from the city of the fort, Astreia descended from the sky.

While almost all magic is running out, even though falling doesn't kill you, you have to leave a minimum of magic behind to exercise your summons.

The summons is not determined by the amount of magic. It would not be possible without it at all, but if the amount of magic alone was to determine success or not, there was no way Astraia, whose magic was increasing due to dragon blood, would fail.

(The summons should, as a minimum, carve the formation on the water to call. If there's a cause you're failing, there's got to be something else...)

With regard to the summons, we tried to try to recreate the time as much as possible.

But there was no such thing as a dedication at the time of success, just a magic formation on the surface of the water - an ancient one.

(I've tried it hundreds, thousands of times.... but I haven't)

What am I missing, just no luck?

But even if we don't know that, Astraia now has no choice but to move on.

There was only a crescent moon and it was dark in the woods.

Still, Astreia, who spent eternal time in the woods, has a darkness that I can understand if it's about the way.

Even if you can't see the worst, you can take the wind and grab a path.

However, despite my determination, my anxiety swells up a little bit if I walk.

Can you really do it, or can you call it this time? So, do we find a solution?

If I thought so, my gait would be quicker, and I would only rush as I did.

Running, though, is not comparable to the usual speed of running.

Still, I want to get to a place where I can summon, a little faster.

On such a road, Astraia's ears heard a fiercely leafy sound.

It sounded as if the beast was going to tear the path apart.

But it also sounded long for a beast, and Astreia accidentally stopped walking.

I know there is something, but what the hell is that?

But I also feel like this sounds like a person - approaching the sound with that in mind, and really in the dark, a shadow really showed up from among the low trees, screaming briefly by accident.

"Wow, is someone there?!?"

The opponent at first sight was an old woman, who didn't seem to see Astreia.

Without the lights, I can't even do it - I think so, while Astreia replied, "I'm here," calming my heart. And take a good look at them.

"... Um, you... foot, are you hurt?

"Oh, hey, fall in"

……

At this hour, a place like this.

Obviously, it must be under unexpected circumstances.

"... Shall I lend you a hand? One leg is fine, right?"

"Are you sure? But you'll have to hurry home, too."

"No, there's no hurry."

I'm really in a hurry. I'm in a great hurry.

But it's tempting to leave one injured old woman alone in this place. I can't feel any signs of demons around here, but it's not weird if you're a wildlife in general wandering around the area.

I guess there was no other way for the old woman to do it either, once she showed a bare gesture of peeping, she immediately accepted Astreia's offer, "Well, that's bad," she said. I guess I was in real trouble.

"Do you live in a fort?

"No, it's in the opposite direction. It's not that far from here. I live there with my grandfather."

"Disagree?"

It's convenient because it's the same side as the destination, but some people lived in rare places.

Even through here, there is a considerable distance to the village. Near here would not be a convenient place. If you're going to live a life without a sense of life like yours, you can't help but wonder "what inconvenience you're doing" if you're a normal person.

But the old woman also immediately felt the air.

"Hey, wherever you live, it's the capital. Give me your shoulder... you're taller than you used to be."

"... Um, shall we take a look?

"Really? Bad."

Astraia leaked a dry grin at the voice of an old woman who didn't seem to think it was bad after all. Funny, until earlier I should have been forced to make decisions that would have shaped my life.

(... but you still can't leave it, can you)

It was about shaping my future, but I'm not facing an emergency like an old woman. If you think so,

It's just out of the math that the old lady was heavier than I thought just a little bit.

Was it something that looked small, but a person weighed like this?

(... but not good. If you were this old lady and weighed this... Ios who carried me, I guess you thought it was pretty heavy)

I was distracted only by the embarrassment, but I realized it was outrageous.

Astraia wanted to hold her head, but now that she's supporting the old woman with both arms, she can't stop working like that.

"Well, it's not that far away, 'cause it's about as far away as old people can walk."

Believing the old woman's words, Astreia moved forward step by step.
