The World of Masks

Beginning of Invasion

Even this name has been a week since the capital of the lost kingdom went under Jack. The bloodstains that were still everywhere and the ruined and falling buildings were telling of the horrors of that time. The city's population has become half-cut because of the massacres of the monstrous people, and there is still the sound of mourning among the mourning of those who have lost their families, often here and there.

But that was it.

Surprisingly for the people of the capital, the Demon King no longer touched them after the day of the battle. Even though I fell into a miserable slavery, in this world, ordinary people are just like royal or noble slaves. In that way, it's okay to think that their lives are no different than they have been until now. The tranquility now was certainly strange for the people of the capital who grew up hearing the old story that the Demon King and the Demon King's army would be killed if they encountered them, hating all the living.

Only monsters and undead roaming the streets have informed us that the city has fallen into the hands of the Demon King. But the undead and the monsters no longer attack the people. He was just shooting from a large squadron to a rare alley, like he was on patrol.

Now people are used to flinching at the horror even when they encounter them, or just going around for some distance.

Of course, none of them had the courage to walk the streets shooting in fear of the Demon Prince. Of course, in the early days, people didn't want to leave their homes. However, the Demon King's orders were issued when they were trapped in the house.

Stay in their careers as long as they don't leave this city.

They had no choice but to come out. And since that command, this strange condition has continued.

Still today, hard-working farmers left their homes before sunrise. I felt like hitting the farm or whatever, and I just wanted to be stuck in the house. When I saw the undead passing by, I felt more like it. But it was not something they could do with their strength. You struggle to move your immovable foot towards the gate.

The gate was clearly open. In the beginning, if the time were now, the gates would not have been open. Gates are closed overnight for a number of reasons. However, as the city entered the Demon Lord's underwater, the door was always open. I felt like I had to do something suspicious.

There was something different about it. The guards will usually be on guard duty, but the undead, who are now not a guard, have been poking around in saffron naturalisation instead. They stood by the sides of the gates without a pulse. Every time they passed by, the farmers felt their backs squirming. Their emotionless eyes peer through the farmers as if they were guards watching prisoners. The farmers tremble and walk to their own land.

The crops have fallen everywhere or have become a mess. But the damage was not so great. It was doubtful that this was the only damage the vast monsters and undead had done. Did the Demon King even care to ruin the crops? But I soon had my mind blown off. It would be more credible for the Demon King to think that monsters have compassion.

The farmers immediately went to work. He had to plow his own land as well as the fields of other farmers who died in this battle. That's what I was told. Without time to rest, the farmers continued to work.

Such a movement was happening in the capital as well.

General goods stores, forges, textile shops, etc. slowly opened their doors, and the economic system began to turn. Of course, I didn't come back completely. Although transportation is undeveloped and inexpensive, self-sufficiency is a fundamental world, cities and countries will inevitably become a huge consumption. The city can't go back to the old days since it entered the Demon King's hands, lost its connection with other countries, and the kingdom collapsed, preventing the products of other provinces from coming up. However, the city was restoring its functions as little as it could right now.

It was the same for the royal palace. No, the palace was recovering faster than anywhere else, as it had not been harmed well enough. The biggest change is that the owner has changed. That was it.

Jack was in the Oval Office, where the king was supervising the commission. I sat on the chair where the king was looking at his duties, and I skimmed through the paperwork piled up on the desk. There was no common purpose in prospering this kingdom. Though I had to plan for this kingdom, it was already passed on to kings and nobles.

"The old guard is the prestige. '

I passed without hesitation, excusing myself. Of course, it was possible because they were confident that they would never betray.

Knock, knock!

"I'm Callie, my lord."

With a knock, you hear the voice of a devoted servant. Jack takes Callie inside.

"Huh? Are you working?"

Her eyes flush. It was a natural reaction to see Jack who had been in the palace lately, eating if he wanted to eat, sleeping if he wanted to sleep, having sex if he wanted to have sex, and living for a time when he would not envy the rich horse table.

"No, we're going to see how much we can get out of this kingdom."

Jack throws the documents at his desk. Callie looks at the document with curious eyes.

It contains all the resources produced in the kingdom. Gold, silver, precious metals such as iron, copper, grains produced in each region, fish resources, livestock resources, etc. It literally contained all the roots of the kingdom.

"We have to keep producing. We need to arm our armies, and that's something we can use. Grain is essential to growing the population, isn't it?"

The former Demon King quickly conquered and completely devastated the conquests, turning all humans into undead, marching on and off, but he had no intention of doing so. I was going to push everything out of the way while eating everything.

"I see. But why pretend to be a conqueror now? In the marketplace, the Demon King is more human than humans."

Callie laughs as if it's funny. Jack is a human being with an excellent hobby of killing people.

But it wasn't strange to hear that. Because human rights is a trait of this era, there was nothing special about the genocide and plunder of the conquering city. In other words, humans slaughtered by monsters and undead in the early days of the battle in the capital would have suffered the same damage even if it was a battle with Humans.

Moreover, the actions taken after that were better than the war with the humans. There is no more slaughter or looting, and monsters and undead patrol the streets as if they were trying to protect their own security. They said they didn't know what to do later after the slave contract, and some heads were concerned about the future, but most of the people, who had only seen the earth and the sky, were voicing questions about whether they were really the Demon King. There was also a hopeful observation that maybe we won't do terrible things in the future. Of course, such opinions were only a minority. To this day, most humans have been terrified.

"What's your real intention?"

"It's nothing."

I grab the documents that I threw on my desk again and hand them over one by one. A rumbling sound echoes through the room.

"The power of the Demon King's army was human in the first place, right? It requires Human HP to trigger the Altar and is essential for building the Undead. The Demon King seems to have been replenished at the time, but we must invade our world. I want to make basic supply easy."

"Are you going to raise him?"

Callie's eyes turn to seeing a creature who is no human being. Jack doesn't blink.

"Stably able to supply life and body? Worth a shot."

A terrible idea. If we did not consider the existence of humans equal to livestock, that would not be possible.

Callie nods and accepts.

"Plus, we can get enough from the human resources. A lot of them, like knights and wizards, would be great power. I'll manage human breeding thoroughly for that."

It was no longer a vocabulary used by the same human being. But Callie had a curious look in her eyes and no humanitarian resentment.

"Management?"

"Yes, because talent has a lot of genetic factors, one group is handsome and talented, two groups are ugly and talented, three groups are handsome and incompetent, four groups are ugly and incompetent. If you breed like that, chances are that good children will be born more likely. Best to leave the likes of them by your side. Group 2 is an advanced force for my kingdom. Group 3 is angry. And group four, roughly, would be less labor."

It was a plan to reduce human dignity to its limit. If he knew what Jack had done in Jack's world, he would have turned his eyes upside down and turned a lather upside down by the hundreds. But there was no one here who could tackle Jack's behavior.

"Reality invasion takes a long time anyway. It will take at most 10 years, so that's enough time for this masked world to last 30 years. I can pick up a generation or two."

Jack smiles at the documents with his hands.

"After you put the system together, please wish me luck pulling it out so that good people can be born."
