The World of Masks

Hero Needs

" What does that mean? Treatment of our superpowers?"

The unexpected words of authenticity filled Charles with embarrassment.

Jinsuk turned around again and began walking down the hallway. Charles hurriedly follows you.

People started showing up. Jinsuk clammed his mouth shut. There was no explanation. Charles didn't think it was something to say in a crowded place either, so he just followed the truth without saying it. But in him, the curiosity grew.

When they arrived at the hospital entrance, both of them frowned at the same time. I saw reporters camped in front of the hospital who had forgotten because of the pandemic and the meeting with Hannah.

"Shall we take a break?"

"Is that so? It's time for the hospital. You can have a checkup. Or should I just eat? I heard it's good to eat at the hospital restaurant. Slow down and let's get out by sundown."

Until just now, the weight had gone nowhere. Jinseok and Charles kissed and turned at the same time. Luckily, there were a lot of people in the hospital, so the reporters didn't notice them.

I asked the nurse who was passing by to find out the existence of a small side door that was just different from the front door. In case there are any reporters here, the two carefully looked outside. Fortunately, there are no signs of camping this way.

"Looks like you're on some sort of undercover mission. I've only learned how to do Special Forces drills by watermelon."

Charles shudders to think about the special forces training he received for increased combat strength after Awakening his psychic abilities. Of course, it wasn't a real drill for a real special forces unit. As Charles put it, I only learned it because I was looking forward to a slight increase in combat strength.

Jinseok and Charles glance around as if they were criminals in some crime tracking film. Only after getting in the car and locking the door were the two of them able to relax. At the same time, I sighed for relief.

"It's not like she's being chased by a murderer in some thriller movie."

Charles grumbles and boils his seat belt. He wore a seat belt with a smile on his face. I started and grabbed the wheel. The car slowly began to leave the hospital parking lot.

"Tell me now, Chancellor."

Charles asks as he mineralizes the landscape that flows out the car window.

"Sure. It's nothing to hide."

Jinsuk slowly began to unravel.

"The beginning of every problem is what do superpowers look like to people around the world?"

"People's eyes? Now, I don't think superpowers, at least our views and opinions about AMSS, are bad. No, it's great, isn't it?"

Because of the failure of the New Zealand seizure war and the failure to respond to the Australian invasion, trust in the Allied forces fell to the ground, and in proportion to that, trust in the former PPSO, current AMSS, was skyrocketing. The impact was still there. Everywhere I go, AMSS's superpowers were popular and the Saviors.

"Is there some bad press or something?"

Charles was nervous about a flow he didn't know about. But Jinsuk shakes his head.

"I like the current opinion. Mr. Charles' popularity continues to rise. Don't worry, Mr. fourth most attractive man in the world."

Jinseok smiled meaningfully at his mouth and teased Charles. Charles' movements have stopped. It seemed that rolling my eyes desperately held back my shame. He scratches his cheek beautifully.

"No, that's what they put on the media. And I don't want to be teased by the president, the world's most attractive man."

"I'm a little hard to convince. It was a complete misfortune. Who knew that in Australia, when I was riding my motorcycle to save a girl, it would still be recorded, and it would be spread all over the world on radio waves."

"But it doesn't change that you're number one."

"Well, I'm a married man, and even the top four would be better for women."

Jinseok provoked me.

"By the way, have you met the ex-girlfriend who dumped Mr. Charles? Charles would be capable of giving him the revenge he so desperately wanted."

"Oh, I got a call once."

"Oh, that's an exciting situation."

The red light hits the brake. The car slows down slowly and stops in front of the stop line. Perfect timing. Jinseok leans down onto the handle and glares at Charles with a sparkling eye.

"Come on, give me a situation report."

"Nothing much. It just seemed like it had been a long time since I started, and he asked me if I'd like to start fresh."

"So?"

"Once I hear the word 'get back together' as if I'm some kind of fool, just say 'crazy bitch' and don't bullshit it No, that's not it, Chancellor!"

Charles wakes up, dumbfounded by the atmosphere, talking about his experiences.

"Oh, why? In the middle of all the fun."

"This isn't about my relationship!"

"Well, that sounds pretty fun to me, or important to me."

"Chan ."

Seeing Charles' eyes staring at him, Jin closes his mouth. I couldn't stand the resentful look in my eyes as if I were a virgin ghost.

"Okay, okay. Let's try not to tell another story. However, you'll have to tell me the rest of the story later."

Jinsuk winked playfully and continued to explain again.

"In retrospect, as Charles now knows, the public opinion about superpowers is very good. People love our AMSS and our superpowers. Because of that, people are clearly distinguishing us from superpowers."

"Of course it is. No matter how superpowered they are, they are not to be treated like criminals."

"Of course" . And I agree with that, of course. But how long do people take that for? "

Charles shuts up. I never thought of that.

"Think about it, Charles. Let's say Charles lives in a village. It's a peaceful village, and people don't have any firearms. All you can use as a weapon is a club and a knife. But one of them moved to the village. with guns and bombs and all kinds of threats."

The eyes of Jinsuk sank deep.

"The person who moved in as a person living is a normal person. He's not a killer, and he doesn't seem to have anything to turn those weapons on Mr. Charles. But you know what?"

Jinsuk speaks in one heavy voice, as if his words were planted in Charles' brain.

"Will Charles be able to deal with him without any fear?"

They don't have any defensive measures, but the person who moved in has weapons that can kill them at any time.

Charles could barely understand what was true.

" In short, the people who originally lived in peaceful villages meant ordinary people, and the person who suddenly moved with a bunch of weapons "

"I mean you, Mr. Charles. He's a superpower."

I stabbed Charles with the words of Jin as a paragon.

"The public opinion is in your favor, so people won't think very deeply. You think it's your power to protect yourself. I think it's kind of like an army or an armed police force. I don't care if the public opinion is consistent as it is now. But we don't know what the future holds."

Charles swallows his saliva.

"The number of superpowers is increasing, and so is the number of superpowers. And the victims are increasing as well. Did you see the look in Hannah's eyes?"

Can we forget that creepy look in your eyes? It was the look of hatred that made it very clear to me the destructive power of the gaze.

"If we do something wrong, that vision could be mainstream. the look of resentment and hatred and fear."

"That's terrible."

People all over the world look at themselves with negative eyes. With that imagination, Charles's hair rises all over his body.

"People are negative for something other than themselves. The superpowers there have the potential to be feared. Whatever it is, they have the power to slap monsters that don't shut down unless they're heavily armed."

Jinseo blinks left and turns the handle. The car in the back raises the collection. It didn't seem like I was going to concede. I frowned and pushed the car forward and changed lanes.

"Superpowers must continue to inform the public about their usefulness. 'We're not attacking you', 'We're on your side. You have to keep sending messages." We need to let the public know that the superpowers, at least our AMSS, are not a threat. And one of the most efficient ways to do that is to make heroes float. "

"Is that why you want to make Mr. Seo Yoo-Hwan a hero?"

"Yes, the public opinion is that once tilted, it becomes incoherent, and before that, it's consistent image management. Well, it's also true that you need the authority to threaten those who hide their superpowers."

Jinseok shrugs.

"Then shouldn't we ask others? There are a lot of superpowers out there who want to be heroes. and people who want to stand out."

"People like 'great guy' and 'bat guy' from New York?"

"Oh, my God."

Charles covers his face with his hands. My face was burning just thinking about those guys.

"As an American, I say, not all Americans are."

"Why, isn't it great? Imitate a hero who admires. It's been a dream ever since we were kids."

"You should see it for yourself. He was a hero in cartoons and movies, and in real life, the blue stooge in the red cape is just a pervert."

Charles insists as he flicks his spit out of his mouth. I guess I'm not ashamed after all.

"Is that right? The quality looks good on the air. Oh, no matter how hard it was to hide who he was, it was definitely a negative point for a" great guy "to wear a mask. That killed the finish line."

"That's not the point!"

"Is there anything else important? Oh, do they keep the copyright fees in their comic book companies?"

"That's the important part!"

"It's important. The concept of copyright is very important."

Charles struggled with embarrassment, thinking of the two fake heroes who had become New York's newfound masterpieces. But the truth seemed to see them well.

"Well, I like being a hero, but it's hard to agree to be a vigilante, like a movie or a cartoon."

A vigilante is only an armed group that threatens the state and society when the state is fully equipped and the state is fully in charge of security. In some cases, criminal organizations from various countries around the world started out as vigilantes.

"They should be able to verify their identities and get them on AMSS soon."

"It won't be easy. because he's a wannabe hero who's happy to hide his face and help people."

"Hahaha, Charles is strict. But it's not a crime. Personally, I've got a lot of power, so I'm going to save people with it. I like the idea of it."

Of course, there will be heroism as well.
