The World of Masks

Disconnected

Charles opens his mouth first.

“I thought a lot about it at home. I've been thinking a few times about what the Director said. ”

“The former Chancellor.”

The sickness grimaces. Charles' eyebrows twitch. His momentum became more intense. But it didn't explode. I continued as if I hadn't heard the message of the plague.

“I listened to the 'Director' and thought about letting him go. But I can't either. I thought I'd talk to you, admit it or not. ”

He empowered the name "Chancellor." This time, the scrotum of the plague was swollen. But the pandemic fell silently.

“What do you want to talk about? ”

“What the hell do you want to do? ”

Charles asked without hesitation.

“With the same jealousy, feeling bad for the president, pushing his colleagues to their deaths last time with insubordination, and now you're sticking your neck out for a conspiracy to get rid of him? ”

At first, it was Charles speaking calmly, but the more I spoke, the more excitement increased and the louder I spoke.

“The Director has done so much for you and the world, and he's beaten this treachery! ”

Finally, the last words became the shouting of the house. The face of the plague is flared. He was ashamed to hear from the third party because he chose jealousy and his future without any beliefs or inclinations.

Did he have hope when he saw it? Charles' tone lowers again.

“It's not too late now. Apologize to the Director and let's start over. ”

"Apologize"?

I said it because of both authenticity and circulation, but Charles made one mistake. It was the size of inferiority of the pandemic to the truth. The inferiority of the pandemic was already so great that it could not even be compared to when it started to conflict with the truth.

Always right and always wrong. I remembered the back of Jin when I left the conference room. I remembered the feeling of defeat at that time.

"Bow your head to him? '

I imagined myself bowing to Jinsuk.

It was disgusting. My body trembles with anger and my fists are clenched. It looked red in front of my eyes as if my veins had burst.

“I don't want to.”

At some point, it was coming out. I unconsciously vomited it as if my body was out of control.

I can see Charles' face growing distorted. But I did not regret it. Rather, I felt relieved.

Charles said nothing for a moment. But it was not because I had nothing to say, but to control the outburst of anger.

“· · · · · · Why? ”

Charles spits it out like a chew. But the pandemic had finally regained its coolness. I relaxed my body a little and said casually.

“Second prize, and my reputation is Natia's. I don't want to dishonor her. ”

“Don't you think you wouldn't have lost Natia's reputation if you had done well in the first place? ”

“It's in the past. If you did well from the start, the Iranian family is not going to help you solve it in the future. ”

“If you consult with the president, you might be able to come up with a good plan. He's a smart guy. ”

Charles wanted to change his mind at any cost. I didn't even know I wanted to go back in time. Just like before, Hannah had a bright smile next to her, a gentle smile when she and her distractions were bickering or making silly jokes.

“The Director said you'd be a good superpower. That's how much he trusts you. ”

As he conveys the feelings of authenticity, Charles does his best to restore the mind of the plague.

However, time is a wave that does not return by a quarter mile, and people's emotions do not know how to move like reeds scattered by the wind.

“I don't want to.”

The pandemic looks Charles straight in the eye and says, Feel the weight on that, Charles' heart, pounding! 'Then I sat down.

Charles' expression disappears. I looked at the remains with mechanical, inorganic eyes.

I've never seen Charles like that before. The sickness instinctively avoided Charles' eyes.

“Yes."

Charles opens his mouth. The sound that came out was as cold as snow.

“That's right. ”

Charles spoke slowly, as if he were chewing on the opinions of the plague, and wanting to shred his opinions.

It's broken. It's over. The Monument thought that Charles' relationship with him would crumble like a shattered glass on a flying stone.

Ueron and Natia were facing each other in the backyard of the house. The atmosphere of the two was not so different from the atmosphere of the two in the house. Ueron scolded Natia, and she opened her eyes as if she could not lose to him.

[Let's cut to the chase.]

Ueron opens his mouth slowly.

[Help me persuade your contractor. President Kim Jin-seok is not to be lost because of this.]

At first, I spoke with caution. It is because we do not know how far Natia is involved in the crisis. Even though Natia desperately tried to stop her, it could be that the pandemic acted on its own accord, and it could be that Natia provoked herself into selling her autumn.

I thought there was hope for the former. Ueron hoped so too. But the reality was not working as well as I thought.

[I refuse.]

Why?

Because the pandemic wouldn't want that.]

Ueron was silent for a moment. I looked at Natia with my browsing eyes. Like trying to figure out what she's up to.

My pomegranate lips tightly clenched and showed firm will. Ueron sighs when he realizes that he won't be able to easily turn Natya's will, whether she's stubborn or stubborn.

[Even if you value the contractor, you must not only follow the will of the contractor. No matter how precious he is to you, it doesn't help to always uphold his will. We should save the bitterness.]

[No, unlike Ueron, that is also my will.]

This is the worst. Ueron puts his head into it without even knowing it. God does not have the concept itself, such as illness or chronic pain, but now I have my hands on my head without knowing it. I didn't even know the concept of a headache meant what I was feeling.

[Don't you know you need his power to stop the world?]

Ueron's remarks have not yet been so hostile as to whether or not he thought it was a reverse stage. But there was clearly a step up in the tone.

[We can make enough of a diversion.]

[· · · · · · · He can do it?]

And I said, "Are you out of your mind?” I've put up with what I wanted to ask.

[Who did you fall for? I hope you didn't fall for those wild dogs that are on top of the U.N. Don't you see they're trying to use your contractor as a bullet hole?]

Eventually, there was a loud noise in the excitement. He could not bear Natia's folly.

[No, I know.]

You know?]

[Yes, I know. But it's better than being miserable with Kim Jin-seok. And no matter how many bullets you put in there, the pandemic won't be blamed. There's a hero image made by the Chancellor, so if you wrap it up well, some people will help with the pandemic.]

[Po, wrap it up!]

Is this really Natia, Goddess of Justice? Where did that wise and innocent goddess go? There was an evil woman who was only measuring her own gain.

After seeing Ueron's frightened gaze, Natia was filled with shyness. She knew what her actions meant. But I couldn't back off.

[What the hell made you do that? You were no god like this.]

[· · · · · ·.]

Beyond the rating, Natia now looks at Ueron, wailing as he says nothing. But Ueron had to listen for this reason.

[Tell me. Why have you changed so much?]

Natia seems to think about it for a moment, but soon she looks up and declares to herself.

[because I love pandemics.]

Ueron's body stops. His excitement fades away as if time had stopped. But for a moment, he started laughing like crazy.

[Love, I've seen a lot of people make bad decisions with that one fancy word. Those idiots who believe that one emotion is above all precious! The simple fact that reality is different from fiction or play, the ignorant things that you don't even realize! I didn't know you were the same as those fools. I thought I was inexperienced, but I can't believe this!]

Ueron's words give me a profound sense of contempt.

[I thought you were our last conscience. We may have ruined the world, but we were foolish gods, and we still believed that we could protect our last pride because of you. But you weren't. You were an immature girl who had no experience, who didn't even know the real world, just cried out over and over.]

It was a disappointment to Natia, and to all the gods, including her. The voices of Ueron soothe the surrounding atmosphere.

[No matter what you say, I won't change my mind.]

[Don't worry. I have no expectations of you anymore.]

Put it down and Ueron turns away. No more questions are needed. Ueron leaves Natia alone and goes inside the house.

Natia is tired of seeing empty spots where Ueron left. Every word of his was in her heart. I felt like my body would melt away from my guilt. But I got it in my mind. I committed the sound to myself.

[It's okay. Everything will be a good distraction from now on. I can lead you well.]

That said, Natia followed Ueron into the house. Trying to ignore the laughter of Emilia, echoing in her ears again.

* * *

Charles was wearing shoes on the porch. When I first sat down, I had a strange culture of taking off my shoes when I entered the house, but I was used to it now. Of course, even if you weren't used to it, you wouldn't even feel awkward right now.

Charles turns his gaze after he taps the ground with his toes and fully fits the foot into the shoe. At the very least, a pandemic followed you to the front door. However, the face of the plague was clearly not good.

“I'll ask you one last time. ”

Charles opens his mouth. I was irritated by the look on the face of the plague. I looked at Charles with endless nagging eyes. But Charles didn't care about that look. Ueron and Natia, who returned to the contractor again, kept silent.

“Don't you ever want to act like us again? ”

It was a true ultimatum. Charles' firm voice and resolute expression convey his determination. However, there was only one emotion that I felt frustrated with that ultimatum.

“I... ”

Looking straight at Charles, the distraction cuts out a single letter and pushes him out.

“You and the president are not puppets. ”

It was a true declaration of disconnection. Charles' expression did not change. I kicked my tongue and turned my back as if I knew.

“Yes, you are not my puppet and the president's puppet. ”

Charles puts his hand on the porch hook and turns his head out cold.

“You are my biggest failure and the President's only fault, you son of a bitch! ”

Charles speaks only that, then opens the front door and walks out.

Boom!

A heavy door slams shut. The funeral in the house and leaving Charles both heard it.

The idea and the idea that each of them was holding was different, but the only thought that came to mind after hearing the sound just now was one. The sound of that door closing is like a sign of the end of their relationship.
