Chapter 73: Harmonious Dinner.
"I need one too," Eris finally said as Sunnie smiled.
"Sure. I’ll get it for you..." Sunnie was generous enough to want to get up and bring his portion.
But Azure stopped her. "No... you can’t move around like that... it’s not healthy for you and the cub in your stomach."
Sunnie stared at him. Everyone stared as well, blinking.
Eris raised an eyebrow as Azure got up to his feet. "I’ll get it," he said, leaving to bring Eris’s portion as Sunnie casually smiled.
One of the women said, smiling, "What a blessing. Your husband loves you so much. He even pampers you this much."
Another nodded with a smile. "Exactly. What a joyous sight to behold."
Sunnie smiled. For some reason, she felt happy and pleased about the fact. She could almost feel her cheeks blush as she ran a hand through her stomach.
Eris’s portion arrived as they all stared at the meal. Now they took their time to sight and appreciate how appetizing the meal looked and how strong its aroma was.
They sniffed. "This smells... different..." one of the women explained. "I don’t think I’ve had this before."
Sunnie smiled. "Yes. It’s going to be the first time. So enjoy."
The women hesitated as Zukka smiled. "It’s already looking so good... I can’t wait to dig in already."
They didn’t know how to properly use the sticks Sunnie instructed them to use, so Sunnie let them use their hands.
She watched as they dug in and immediately observed their expressions light up with smiles.
Zuna, Zukka, and Atan closed their eyes. Endless bubbles of tastes ran through their tongues, and they felt them dancing all over their mouths.
The mice also felt it too—a thousand ingredients dangling on their tongues as explosions took place all over their heads. It was beyond words, the feeling they got.
But they enjoyed it.
They smiled as they stared at each other. "This...." Zukka had no words.
"MAGICAL!" Zuna smiled as she instantly dug in for more.
Little Black was already enjoying it without words as the mice took their time to let the explosions spark in their mouths.
They smiled as they said, "This feels like heaven! How is this even...?"
"Am I even alive... I can’t... I can’t figure out what ingredients taste this magical!"
Sunnie smiled, enjoying hers as she watched them all continuously enjoy theirs while spilling endless compliments over how different and amazing it tasted.
Sunnie smiled as she stared at her three husbands who were with them. They hadn’t started eating, and she could tell why.
She smiled at Azure. "Why don’t you take a bite? I’m sure you’ll like it. Trust me."
Luka was aching to eat. But he was patient as he watched Azure slowly take a bite. And when he did, everyone paused.
There was a loud silence as they watched him taste it. Azure felt it kick in soon—the endless flavors rushing through his mouth!
They were too much to pinpoint. He felt himself floating in the water freely as he closed his eyes. The feeling never felt so good!
A smile crept up his face as he stared at Sunnie. "This tastes... so good!"
Sunnie smiled.
"Have some more," Eris suggested. "Let’s see if it’ll have any effects."
He had some more, and it kept getting better. Some seconds went by, then a minute, and there was nothing. Azure smiled. "I can’t detect anything... It’s... perfect."
Sunnie was nervous while he ate it. But after his review, she couldn’t help but smile as she sighed. "That’s good then." She was safe from any system punishment for now.
"Enjoy," she smiled at her other two husbands as she waited for them to dig in. Luka happily ate and felt himself flying around in a garden of endless noodles. The magic ran through his lips in all possible flavors.
He couldn’t stop eating.
Eris took a bite and cleared his throat. His expression was neutral for a while as he slowly nodded.
"How is it?" Sunnie was curious.
Eris took one bite and another and then smiled. "Can I get another bowl when I’m done?"
Sunnie smiled, relieved.
Everyone eating enjoyed it. And that was what she needed to know in the moment. She smiled as she watched them eat.
Luka and Little Black were first to finish theirs and requested another round. Sunnie gladly had them take some more.
They sat around the fire, eating, chatting, and laughing. As Sunnie turned, she saw the woman and the kid sitting quietly in the corner.
They hadn’t come forward for another bowl since they were done with their first. And so Sunnie took a bowl of noodles and approached them. She bent down before them and handed it to them.
"You two should eat more. It’s good for the child’s health," she expressed as the woman stared at Sunnie. Their eyes met.
It was the first time their eyes had met, and Sunnie could feel the pain in those eyes. She wondered what had happened to this woman, what had left her in pain and withdrawn like this.
But she still smiled warmly as she handed her the extra bowl. The woman quietly took it with a slight nod and began feeding her little one.
Sunnie smiled as she watched them.
When she was content, she got up to her feet and turned to stare at the others. They were sitting around the fire, chatting and eating.
Zukka was making fun of Little Black again, and he was fighting for his life. Her three husbands were seated there, observing with smiles lingering on their faces.
It happened that everyone loved Little Black’s dramatic expressions when being teased. Thus, that was why they enjoyed teasing him.
In that moment, Sunnie stared at the warm smiles on Eris, Luka, and Azure’s faces. It was the first time she had taken her time to observe such natural and warm smiles from them.
And at that moment, it left her with a simple realization: they weren’t as bad as they were made out to be.
