Chapter 263: Jerks
"Is that so?" The tiger leader had a hand behind him as he looked around. "So where is the food which you have brought us?" He stared at her. "I can’t seem to find it anywhere."
Sunnie stared at him firmly. "I’m just a weak female. How could I have possibly carried all the food alone here? I simply can’t, so of course I asked for some help."
She said as they all stared at each other again and then at her.
"You came with some people?" The eagle leader was alert as he approached. "Where are they? Is this some sort of plan of yours? What are your intentions?"
Sunnie smiled as she stared at him. "Calm down. It’s not like I brought some people to ambush you. Your tribe is so powerful, I doubt I’d be stupid enough to try that."
She said as she stared at them. "I just asked them to help me bring it closer since this weak female can’t do it alone." She said with a sigh.
Sunnie added as she turned behind. "The foodstuffs are all behind. Go there and take the path ahead, and you’ll see them. They’ve kept it there and all returned. So you can go and find what you asked for... everything." She explained.
The tribe members murmured amongst themselves. They didn’t know if to believe her. Was she really handing it to them? Was she really being cooperative?
The tribe leaders stared at each other and then stared at her. "And how are we supposed to believe that you only bring the food without any intentions behind it?"
Sunnie smiled as she said, "You can search everything if you want. From the food to everywhere around. If I had some men, they’d probably be hiding around. So you could search everywhere and confirm... It shouldn’t be that hard, though, will it?"
Their eyes met and Sunnie smiled calmly. The leaders stared at each other and then cleared their throats.
Then the eagle leader turned and stared at the warriors standing at a distance. "Get all the men ready and set out," he said.
He had instructed them to go around and conduct a detailed search to make sure there was no suspicious activity around.
The warriors nodded and set out to search around the tribe to make sure no one was hiding around for an ambush.
As the beastmen left, the tiger turned to Sunnie and said, "Since the female is already here, why don’t we all go together and take a look at the food you’ve brought for us? What do you say?"
Sunnie smiled with a nod. "Sure. I’d be more than glad if you want to."
And so she followed them—the two leaders, Sunnie, and some warrior beastmen had set off to the spot where Sunnie had left the foodstuff she had brought alone.
There was a lot of it kept there—a lot to count and check—and the men took their time doing so. They didn’t let Sunnie leave; she stood there watching them check all of it and make sure of everything.
Sunnie casually folded her arms with a cold expression, staring at them until they were done.
When they were done running the basic checkup on the food, they turned to the tribe leader and announced that everything was intact.
Sunnie stared at them. "So... Is there anything left I have to do? I mean, since I’ve already kept my own side of the deal, you should keep yours too. Release my people so we can head back," she insisted.
But the tribe leaders stared at each other as though speaking with their eyes. After a while, Sunnie observed them nod before they turned to her. She didn’t know what was running through their minds, but she was about to find out.
The tribe leader smiled as he said, "Hmm, this is pretty much a huge amount of harvested foodstuff you’ve brought. We’re pretty impressed, but I don’t think we can just let you go like that... can we?"
Sunnie stared at him. "And what do you mean by that?"
The eagle scoffed as he said, "You simply can’t be trusted, can you? I mean... letting you off might just be taking some risk. It’d be better to keep the jinxed female within our watch so she doesn’t cause any trouble for us."
Sunnie’s expression was serious as she stared at their smiling faces. She slowly stepped backward as she glared at them. "And what do you want?"
The tribe leaders casually signaled the warrior beastmen around, and they instantly stepped in and captured Sunnie. They held her by the arms so that she couldn’t escape no matter how much she struggled.
Sunnie glared at them. "And what the hell does this mean? What are you doing? I’ve already given you what you wanted, so why are you still doing this? Keep to your end of the deal!"
But the tiger leader casually laughed as he said, "Silly female, what makes you think it’s worth it to trust us? You should have known better because we aren’t saints to keep to some silly promises." He shook his head as he said.
"We’re just making sure everything works for us. Not taking any risks by letting you all off." The tiger shook his head. "Of course not." He smiled as he turned to the beastmen holding her. "Don’t worry, we have a perfect place to keep you until we’re bored and safe. And we’ll also take good care of you. I’m sure you’ll like this place."
Sunnie gasped. "Bunch of liars... bastards... jerks."
The eagle scoffed. "Say all you want... doesn’t matter. Just make sure you enjoy your new spot, okay? Because you’ll be spending a long time there." He laughed as he signaled the warrior beastmen.
The beastmen pulled Sunnie and dragged her away. Sunnie struggled to set herself free but to no avail. She couldn’t break free from their grip as they pulled her away casually.
"Hey! Let go! Hey! You can’t do this to me! You have to keep to your words! You liar! Hey! Let go!" She could only snap as they pulled her off.
Soon, she was out of the scene, pulled off to be locked in the prison while the tribe leaders stood there proudly.
They both folded their arms with a smile as they stared at the grand amount of foodstuff brought for them.
"And it’s a win..." the tiger said with a smile. "While others foolishly rushed in to snatch what they have, we were smart enough to pull this and make them bring it to us."
The eagle smiled. "This will certainly last us long. Perfect." He expressed as they both smiled, admiring what they had gotten.

Sunnie was dragged and soon thrown into the unkept cave prison.
As they threw her in, they immediately locked the door and stepped out.
Sunnie stood there with a deep sigh as she watched them leave. "Bunch of pathetic liars... men will always lie." She shook her head as she turned to see who was in there as well.
And then she saw Little Black, Zayn, and Karl. All three of them sitting down there and staring up at her. There was silence for a while before Sunnie smiled and said, "Well, hello there."
Little Black didn’t let her finish as he immediately got up to his feet. Overly excited, he rushed toward her and hugged her by the legs.
"Sister Sunnie!" Little Black called out happily, not letting go of her legs at all. "I missed you so much! It’s been so long since I’ve seen your face! I thought I wouldn’t see you again! You came for me!"
He held her firmly while sobbing. Zayn and Karl casually sat there with smiles, watching them as they shook their heads.
Sunnie smiled as she stared down at Little Black. She let him hold her for a while as he sobbed and spoke out loud. Then she slowly pulled him back. "Okay, okay... I also missed you." She smiled. "I’m also happy to see you... you’ll break my legs."
Little Black immediately let go while wiping off his tears and staring up at her.
Sunnie teased, "You’re all grown up now and you’re crying. Don’t cry, okay? I’m here... okay?" She smiled while she comforted him.
While she comforted him, Zayn got up to his feet, stretching himself out as he said, "Well, bunch of liars indeed. I guess they actually did the opposite of what they promised."
Karl nodded as he said, "As expected. I knew they would never let us go just like that. Pretty impossible. They’d definitely resort to this as I predicted... and here we all are. Thrown into prison."
Sunnie smiled as she stared up at them. "Well, I think at this point we all saw it coming." She shrugged. "Nothing too shocking, I suppose. These jerks are not to be trusted after all."
She sighed as she added, "But at least it flows well with our plan, doesn’t it?"
