His lips were the warmest thing in the water, and Sunnie was easily attached to them. Pressing deeper and deeper for a taste of each side, she felt all the warmth they provided.

Azure kissed every part of her lips in the best way possible—so good that it played with Sunnie’s brain chemistry in the most delightful way. She couldn’t help but think about how good he had gotten at kissing recently.

Sunnie wondered if he had been practicing behind the scenes or something.

The kiss was so intense and emotional that they didn’t even notice when the little one slipped out of Sunnie’s hands.

Maren was giggling happily as she grew her blue tail, glowing with shimmering lights as she circled the two. While Maren flew around her parents, the glimmering light around her surrounded them as well.

Their kiss produced ripples around the water, while the little one sent shimmering lights around them.

It was as though the water was in support of them. As per the tradition, it was the merman’s sign of a good bond done successfully. Because as they enjoyed the kiss in the waters, the fish and little water creatures all gathered as witnesses while Maren happily swam around them with her tail.

---

It took them a while to break free from the kiss. And as they did, they stared into each other’s eyes and smiled shyly.

Sunnie couldn’t even bring herself to speak. She looked down and immediately panicked when she didn’t see the baby in her hand. "Where did she go again?"

But Azure turned and stared at Maren flying around. "I guess she learned to swim in the water with a tail."

Sunnie stared with a smile. "Ah..." They both stood there enjoying the view of their little one swimming around happily with her tail.

"Is she supposed to have that tail now? I was wondering why she didn’t have it when she was born."

Azure smiled. "They mostly do have it when they hatch, but it’s not fixed since some are born with feet first. But I guess she’s special to easily blend the two on the first day. Usually, you’re born with one, and it takes a while before you get the second."

Sunnie smiled. "A special one indeed. And you? Which were you born with?"

Azure smiled. "Me? Both on the same day," he said almost proudly.

Sunnie smiled. "I guess that’s where she got the special trait from."

The two of them smiled hard, Azure holding onto Sunnie’s waist as they stood there watching Maren swim around and play with the fish.

"Shouldn’t we get her home?" Sunnie asked.

"No, let’s leave her to enjoy some more," he said as she nodded with a smile.

While they stood watching, her system beeped.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations Host! You’ve successfully won the mer man over.]

[Affection Percentage = 99%]

[Congratulations! You’re now his full mate.]

[And you’ve successfully managed to tame your mer husband!]

Sunnie smiled as she stared at the system. But she couldn’t help but wonder why it wasn’t 100% if she had successfully done it.

Wasn’t that what complete meant?

She decided to ask the system. "What happened to the remaining 1%? Why can’t it be 100% if I’ve completely tamed him?"

[Getting 100% for a beast husband is almost impossible, but not impossible at all.]

[So good luck, Host!]

That was all it said as Sunnie stared at it, confused. She simply sighed and shook her head.

She guessed she’d have to crack that code herself in the near future.

She turned and continued admiring the little one with a smile, watching as she played around while feeling proud.

The hunter hyena rushed back, almost falling down as he dashed into his clan—the Hyena clan.

He had rushed down from the evil forest, losing his bow and arrow in the process. All his thoughts were on getting back.

Finally, he was back, rushing through the bustling scene of the village. Running past the men who were working on huts and the women who were working on gardens and mini farmlands, all laughing out loud.

He rushed past all of them while making his way to the main hall, the biggest house in their clan—the one owned by their leader.

He arrived as the guards tried to stop him. He stared at them. "Get out now! I need to see the clan leader right now!"

The guards refused, and he continued causing a scene. "Get out now! Leave! I need to meet the clan leader! Move!"

"The clan leader is having his rest! So don’t disturb him! Go now!" they insisted, but the hunter persisted.

He struggled to push his way through, but they pushed him away and down while refusing to let him in at all.

"Let me in now! It’s extremely important! You’ll be in danger if I don’t report this right now!" He snapped straight at them while they coldly stood there, staring at him.

He kept insisting until the clan leader made his way out. He was a middle-aged man with a beard around his face.

"And what is it? Why are you disturbing my rest?" he asked.

The hunter instantly said without hesitation, "It’s something important. Something extremely important that I need to speak with you about now."

The leader stared at him for a while, observing him. "Can this news not wait until I’m done resting?"

"No," he shook his head. "It’s about those cursed beastmen in the evil forest!"

As soon as he said that, he caught the attention of the clan leader. The leader kept a calm expression as he looked around and then stared at the hunter. "Okay then. Come in."

The clan leader turned and walked into the cave he had come from. The hunter didn’t hesitate at all; he rushed into the cave after him. He couldn’t wait to tell the leader all that he had witnessed that day. All that had happened in the woods of the evil forest.
