Chapter 253: System?!!
Sunnie paused as she stared at him. Her eyes stiffened with her expression while she felt her heart beating faster.
For some reason, she didn’t know why she suddenly got nervous. She didn’t know what was running through his mind, and she had a feeling that it wasn’t that casual.
The smile on his face and those teasing eyes were enough to say so. But she simply sat there, staring with her gleaming eyes.
He smiled as he said, "What I want is actually not that much." He leaned close to her, enough for her to feel his breath wash all over her. "I just want you to bear my cub... Sunnie."
Sunnie stiffened for some time. She could simply tell that her mind had disassociated for the moment. She had heard his request—she was sure she had heard him clearly.
But then again, she couldn’t find herself processing it as soon as possible. She needed time at least to absorb it all as she stared at him in shock.
At that moment, Sunnie didn’t know which was more shocking. Was it the fact that Zayn had casually requested that he wanted her to bear his cub? Or was it the fact that he had actually used her name in the most sexy tone possible?
She couldn’t breathe.
But Zayn smiled as he reached out his hand, patting her on the head as he said, "You don’t have to do it now. Okay? You have to take your time and think about it. And also prepare yourself as well... When I’m ready, you’ll know." He smiled at her.
Sunnie was trying to catch her breath because she was going insane. How had he casually said that and told her to take her time and get ready? And that he would be ready for her?
She was losing it for sure. Was he teasing her, or?
Zayn took a spoonful of soup and brought it to her mouth. "Here, enjoy some of this."
Sunnie opened her mouth as he fed her. One spoon, then another. Before long, she was already enjoying the bitter soup Zayn was feeding her. Probably because it was from Zayn and her mind was still clouded in the shock she was processing.
Zayn said nothing but fed her with a smile. When he had gone halfway, he gently handed her the soup and patted her head for a moment. "You should get all the rest you can. You will need it." He smiled as he slowly got up. "I have to get back to work."
Sunnie simply nodded with no words. She didn’t know how to express how speechless she was as she watched him leave.
She blinked again and again with a gasp. "Are you being for real now...?" She ran a hand through her cheeks. "And am I seriously blushing right now...?" She shook her head. "How can I be blushing now?"
"Am I hearing things, or did he just say that...?" Sunnie shook her head. Zayn was the last person she had expected to hear it from. At least not now.
He was so damn unpredictable.
Sunnie stared ahead as she called, "Hey! System! Come here! What he said right now—does he mean it? Are we going to do it anytime soon?"
[Loading...]
[System error... Host, I can’t help with that for now.]
[No tasks at hand.]
Sunnie scoffed. "How can you not be able to help with that? Of what use are you then?" She requested. "How am I supposed to know if he meant it and how I should get ready for it?"
[Host should hold her excitement and be composed.]
"...." She felt the slap as she glared at the system. "I’m already composed! What do you mean ’hold your excitement’?" She scoffed. "As if I’m some desperate female or something."
[Host, know yourself better.]
"...." Sunnie blinked at the system, speechless. "Now, off you go." She snapped as the system disappeared. "So annoying."
She shook her head as she continued drinking the soup. Sunnie was too lost in thoughts to recall that the soup was supposed to be bitter.
For the rest of the moment, she found herself thinking about what Zayn had said while also wondering if she was shocked or rather excited.
"I can’t possibly be excited, can I?"

Evening had arrived, and everyone who had gone out to work had begun returning.
Luka and Eris had returned with the kids whom they had taken out to gather some fruits.
They returned with huge baskets of fruits that could possibly last them for the week or more. Luka and Eris carried the larger number of fruits while they came from behind.
In front of them were the five kids. Mii and Maren were carrying a decent amount of fruits in their baskets while Ronan happily carried a bigger amount, strolling happily.
Lune carried a small amount of fruit while he arrived, and Luna only had like three in her basket. She was busy eating everything she picked up that she didn’t have anything left when they arrived.
As they arrived, they kept their baskets as the women around who were preparing dinner turned to the cubs.
"Oh, our little ones who had gone for their first fruit gathering have returned," Elza said with a smile as the women gathered them, asking them how it had gone.
Luna happily said, "It was so exciting! We saw a lot of fruits! A lot of trees, a lot of animals too. And we walked a long, long distance!" She expressed happily with a smile while holding on to her almost empty basket.
The women smiled, adoring the two as they stared at her basket.
"Eh? And where are all the fruits you’re supposed to gather? Why are there only three? And why is one already eaten halfway?" One of the women asked while checking her basket.
Immediately, everyone burst into laughter. Luna held her basket as she stared up at them with her cute big eyes. "I was hungry, so I ate some of the apples on the way."
