They kept talking, but Sunnie and the rest remained calm. Sunnie held onto Luka’s hands, calming him down and giving him the comfort he needed.

Little Black was so pissed that he snapped, "Y’all shut up! Don’t you have better things to do than talk about people all day?"

"....."

Speechless, they stared down at Little Black.

"And who’s this one again?"

"I’m sure it’s another monster they picked from the evil forest. Look, even that lion one," they shook their heads. "Monsters finding their own monsters."

"And who is that baby?"

"Huh? They already have a kid? What is our land turning into? Monsters who are supposed to be made extinct are giving birth now? They should have been killed and not allowed to make babies! Disgusting!"

Everyone agreed in a chorus.

"I guess they didn’t die in that forest! What a shame!" another agreed. "They even had another monster baby."

Karl got offended as he glared at them. "You pathetic people... how dare you speak to a child like that..." He was furious and wanted to step forward.

But Zayn held him back. He signaled for him to calm down.

They all laughed as they said, "What? They want to kill us? Come at us, and we’ll make sure you all die first!"

While they laughed, someone pointed out, "And why are they even here?" one of the bear men asked.

The bear beastmen stared at Luka. "Are you guys here to beg for the competition?" Others laughed.

"What makes them think that monsters are allowed here? How stupid. They should leave now!"

"They’re here to beg for food or something. Look, they probably look so pathetic without anything good to eat in the evil forest that they’re here to beg! Too bad that monsters like them don’t deserve anything!"

While they all laughed, Little Black folded his arms, rolling his eyes as he said, "Why are you all acting as if you’re not here to beg for food as well?"

"....."

As Little Black spoke, they all went quiet. Shame and fury filled them up as they turned and stared at Little Black.

Sunnie and Zukka smiled at what Little Black had said.

"You little... how dare..."

"Did I lie?" Little Black questioned. "If we’re beggars, then you all are pro beggars too. Look at the amount of people you brought to beg for food! Professional beggars indeed!"

This pissed them off so hard that they all wanted to attack, but the boar tribe leader had come out of the tribe gate.

"What’s happening here?" the boar tribe leader inquired as he stepped out into the middle. He was a slightly older man with boar ears, nose, and all. He wore a brown animal skin garment that covered him up.

"Look, we don’t know what these monsters are doing here. The cursed monster husband, the infamous jinxed rabbit who killed her husband, and some other monsters. They’re ruining the atmosphere."

"Yes. I don’t know if they want to come and compete too?" They all laughed. "Please throw them out now!"

The boar tribe leader turned and stared at them from head to toe. It was obvious that he didn’t like them at all.

"And what’s all this? Why are you here?" He questioned.

Sunnie smiled, keeping her calm as she said, "Everyone was invited to try out for the contest. So we’re here to try out for it as well," she expressed.

Everyone laughed.

"They want to? What do they think they can do?"

"They can’t even cook or whatever! Do they want to kill everyone or what?" They laughed aloud.

The boar tribe leader stared at her. "Sorry, we don’t accept anyone. So leave right now before I get angry," he said firmly as everyone laughed.

The bear beastmen laughed the most. "You hear that? So leave now!"

They turned to Luka and said, "You useless fellow. A pure embarrassment to our land. Leave now before we decide to kill you ourselves!"

Sunnie held a firm expression as she stared at the boar tribe leader. "And may I know a valid reason for sending us out? Based on what you’ve written up there," she pointed to the top board, "you said EVERYONE is equally invited for the contest. So what’s the problem?"

The tribe leader of the bear tribe was also an older man. He had been quiet for a while, and now he spoke up. "What else do you need? It’s clear that we can’t accept jinxed monsters around here. Don’t you get it?"

Sunnie scoffed. "Jinxed monsters? Isn’t that just some random name you guys invented for us? Or are you all dumb enough to accept that?"

They stared at her, pissed. "How disrespectful! She really is a monster!"

But Sunnie said calmly to the tribe leader, "Perhaps the reason you’re sending us away is because you’re scared that we’ll win?"

"...."

"What do you mean?" the boar tribe leader questioned. "And why should we be scared of that? What makes you think that you’ll win even if we accept you?"

Sunnie smiled. It was time to resort to the plan she had up her sleeves—provoking her way in. "Isn’t that so?" She looked at them all. "You all are just trying to send us away because you already know that we’ll win. We’re more powerful than all of you. And you are scared."

They all laughed.

"What? Even if you join, you won’t even get the last position! You’d be eliminated before then!"

"Scared of what? We’re professionals at this already! You have no skills!"

Sunnie smiled. "Is that so? Then as a professional, you shouldn’t be scared. It only makes sense to compete equally with everyone without fear and win fair and square." She stared at the boar tribe leader. "Don’t you think so?"

He glared at them, getting provoked. "You think we’re scared or what? What a joke. I’m not scared of anything."

Sunnie smiled. "Is that so? Then why not let us compete? Let’s see if you’re truly scared."

The boar tribe leader hesitated and cleared his throat as he said, "Okay. Sure. You guys are accepted. You can go in and get ready for the competition tomorrow. Then I’d like to see if you can even make it through the first stage. You probably can’t. We’ll see who is scared now," he said proudly.

Sunnie smiled with a nod. "Okay. Sure. We’ll see, I guess." She said proudly as she turned to the rest. "Let’s go in now. We’re accepted."

She had won. Her plan had worked, and she had provoked her way through. Now she led them all in. They all made their way through the gate.

While they moved, Sunnie turned and stared at the bear beast tribe. They all stared at her in shock as Sunnie smiled and winked at them.

The beastmen out there were all shocked. These people, who were the last, were the first to go in. And they were even allowed to go in?

They felt pissed and also embarrassed. At that moment, someone said, "Did she just fool us?"

Another blinked. "I think she did. That cunning jinxed rabbit!" He snapped.

They turned to the tribe leader of the boar tribe and asked, "We came even before she did. Why is she entering first? And why can she even enter? Aren’t they monsters? Shouldn’t they be banned?"

The boar leader had both hands behind him as he sighed and said, "It doesn’t matter if they enter before you. You all can enter. And rather, worry more about beating them." He turned and walked into the room.

As he left, the bear beastmen turned and stared at each other, speechless.

"I can’t believe it. That cursed bear is getting in before us. That makes no sense," one said, shaking his head.

"What do we do now, tribe leader?" another asked.

The bear tribe leader sighed as he said, "Nothing. We should just do what we came to do. We should win the competition like we always do, without any failure. This competition is our specialty, so we should do what we do best."

He added, "Don’t bother about those monsters. They aren’t even going to win anything. They’ll be eliminated in the first round. They’re worthless. So don’t stress much about them."

He assured them as they all nodded.

"Yes. Makes sense. Makes sense," they nodded while they were all accepted into the tribe.

After they went in, Sunnie and the rest were assigned to the wooden house they would be lodging in for the competition.

It was the worst place in the whole tribe. The wood was already weak and shabby-looking; it looked like something that would collapse anytime soon.

The place also had a terrible smell, as though something had died there for years. Worst still, it was the smallest of them all.

There wasn’t even enough space for all of them. They had literally given them the worst place to live in the boar tribe.
