Chapter 179: Not Hungry - Yet.
Sunnie had truly kept her words. Her husbands didn’t get anything to eat that morning.
So while others were busy having their breakfast, they stood in a corner, watching.
They watched Sunnie feed Maren, who was enjoying the meal. Maren had offered to bring some food to her beast dads as a sign of kindness to share her meal, but Sunnie insisted that they weren’t hungry yet.
"....." Eris was speechless.
Luka and Eris sighed as they glared at Karl, who was sitting at their side. He didn’t seem to care about the breakfast.
"Will it kill you to just be a good person and apologize?" Eris questioned, arms folded as he glared at him. He didn’t seem happy one bit not having breakfast!
"Not interested." But Karl casually brushed off their demands.
"If you’re not, well I am. I’m hungry and need to have something to eat at least," he expressed, folding his arms.
But Karl wasn’t willing to apologize at all. And so they had no breakfast that morning.
They also didn’t have any that evening. The five of them sat by the tree side, watching others have dinner. Sunnie had prepared something delicious as usual, so their mouths watered at the sight of it.
"I think I’m going to die," Eris shook his head while watching others eat. He swallowed as he took a leaf he had plucked a while ago and fed on it.
It was bitter, so he immediately spat it out. "I can’t live on this terrible leaf forever." He glared at Karl. "You, go and apologize or something so we can eat."
But Karl was still stubborn about it. He wasn’t willing to apologize, and so all of them were deprived of dinner again.

The hyenas had finally realized what had happened to their lands.
At first, they had observed the changes in their crops but didn’t know what to make of it. That was until recently when their crops died and withered.
Most of what they had was gone. Their crops were no more, so there was no hope for a meal anytime soon.
They all panicked at the thought. Their lands had been poisoned, and they had noticed now. All they could ask was how this had happened.
The men and elders gathered for a meeting. They discussed the issue at hand while seeking a quick solution.
In the course of their discussion, they finally traced the potential reason behind the problem.
"I think the wild beastmen are behind it," one said firmly.
"I also think so," another agreed sharply. "They’re the only ones vicious enough to do such things. And besides, after what we did to them in their land, it’s only logical that they’d do this for payback."
Another agreed, nodding firmly. "I also think so! They’re clearly the ones behind it."
Having agreed that Sunnie’s husbands were the culprits, they discussed what they were going to do.
"We should go there and attack directly. No more indirect attacks or approaches. Let’s go and face those monsters head-on."
Another agreed. "I also agree with this. Let’s go and show them who’s boss. We shouldn’t let them walk all over us as they please. Let’s go take them down immediately."
After deliberating on what to do, they all finally agreed. Immediately, they began making preparations on who to send.
The hyena tribe picked out the best and strongest men from their tribe to represent them—those who could easily go and beat up the beastmen and destroy everything they had for revenge.
After selecting about thirty of them, they sent them off to the evil forest to take down the beastmen and all who stayed there.
---
That morning, the five beastmen lay in the cave, staring blankly at the ceiling. They were simply exhausted and hungry. They hadn’t eaten anything for a long time.
"I think you should go and apologize," Eris said to Karl again, his stomach grumbling.
"I will survive. I don’t need to," Karl insisted, his stomach grumbling as well.
Eris scoffed. "You’ll probably die soon because of your stubbornness. Just apologize already so we can at least have a meal. I don’t think I can keep up any longer."
"Me too," Luka ran a hand over his stomach. "Before, I could probably survive on wild fruits and leaves in this evil forest, but after tasting her delicious meals daily, I don’t think I can do that anymore. I want to eat."
They all stared at Karl. "So get your ass up and apologize. At least do that," Luka snapped.
Karl glared at them. "It’s up to me." He folded his arms. "And I don’t think I’m in the mood for that."
They all sighed, rolling their eyes while their stomachs grumbled. They wondered how long they could survive like this.
"I think we should eat him instead, then," Eris said while they lay there. They all turned and stared at Karl.
"What?" Karl questioned as he watched them approaching, slowly and slowly. "What are you all doing?" He moved backward, his wings out and ready to take off.
"Since you don’t want us to eat, we’ll keep trying to feed on you until you go apologize," Eris insisted.
But at that moment, they heard noise outside. Curious, they all stopped and made their way outside to see what it was about.
They were stunned to see about thirty hefty, strong hyena beastmen standing outside. They had gathered from all angles, arms folded and ready to strike.
The five husbands urged the women and others to step back. Sunnie and Maren weren’t around; they had gone to the stream to bathe. The five of them stepped to the front, glaring at all the hyenas.
"And how may we help you?" Karl questioned the beastmen.
They scoffed as their leader said, "Isn’t it obvious? We’re here to take you down. We’re here to destroy you all for thinking you could ruin our land and go free with that." He said firmly.
