Chapter 283: Going Back
"Sunnie! Sister Sunnie!"
Little Black was happily rushing into the room to break some happy news to Sunnie. He wasn’t aware of the situation inside the room. As soon as Sunnie heard his voice, she panicked and quickly covered herself up properly.
She hoped he wouldn’t come in. Luckily, he didn’t. Before Little Black could get past the entrance, Zukka had dragged him by the ears and held him up.
"What! Put me down!" Little Black insisted, kicking to save himself. But all to no avail because Zukka held him firmly, staring at him.
"What are you doing?" He asked Little Black.
"Hey! Put me down now! I need to go in and see Sister Sunnie! I have something to show her! Let me off!" He insisted, kicking hard.
But Zukka held him firmly. "No. You can’t. Sister Sunnie is having a rest. You can’t disturb her at all. So leave her."
"And what’s it to you?" Little Black folded his arms.
Zukka shook his head as he said, "Stubborn rabbit indeed. You can always show me instead. I’m more than happy to see it."
Little Black folded his arms, looking away. "No. Not showing."
Zukka smiled. "Why? You seem really happy to show someone."
"It’s for Sunnie!"
"I want to see. Then I won’t let you down." Zukka smiled as he held Little Black while walking off.
Little Black kicked and kicked but to no avail. "You bad lion! Put me down now! Hey!" He struggled, but Zukka casually smiled, holding him firmly while walking off with him.
---
Sunnie let out a sigh of relief as soon as she heard them leave. She leaned back with a soft sigh as she shook her head. "That was close..."
"Are you shy about being seen with us?" She heard someone say as she turned to see Zayn awake.
He lay there with a hand on his chin, staring at her with a smile—a mischievous smile.
"You’re awake... since when?" She asked.
"Not too long," he shrugged. "And you? Why are you shy?"
"I’m not..." Sunnie said. "He’s still a kid, so..."
Zayn slowly nodded. "I see, then..." He smiled as he ran a hand through her hair, fixing the messy morning hair. "You were so lively last night... I was thrilled to see that side of you." He smiled at her. "I want to see more of that side."
"...." Sunnie blinked. She was suddenly shy as she turned. "Oh... Karl is still asleep. Should we wake him up so we can start making preparations to leave?"
Zayn smiled. "Avoiding the topic, I see. Cute." He shook his head as he turned to the side of the bed and started getting down from bed.
Sunnie turned to watch him stand. He was bare and naked, and she caught sight of his backside—his broad shoulders and muscular body. And those buttocks.
She can’t get horny again, she thought, looking away as she tried waking Karl up to distract herself. "Hey... wake up."
Zayn had gotten dressed in his primitive clothing as he turned to them. "You should get ready and maybe wash up if you can. We will be leaving soon."
Sunnie turned to her with a nod. "Oh, sure."
Karl groaned as he stretched out his hand, wrapping it around Sunnie and pulling her close to himself. He was still asleep but getting all clingy around her.
Zayn raised his eyebrows while he shook his head. "Clingy indeed. He’s back to his old self." He smiled as he adjusted his clothing. "Wake him up so we can leave."
Sunnie turned to Karl, gently patting him on the cheeks.
Karl groaned before he slowly opened his eyes to stare at the female.
Karl felt extremely happy opening his eyes to see the female’s alluring face. He couldn’t help but smile as he wrapped his hands around her, holding her in a firm embrace.
"It’s nice to see you first when I open my eyes."
"...." Sunnie blinked, wrapped in his arms as she said, "We should get going back now... wake up."
Karl closed his eyes, hugging her as he said, "Mmmmm, can we wait a bit?"
Sunnie shook her head. "No, let’s go." She insisted as Karl had no choice but to open his eyes, staring at her.
He smiled again. "Okay, then, if you say so."
---
Sunnie had washed up and gotten dressed in yellow primitive clothing that one of the females around the tribe had offered.
They had gotten ready and joined the rest. Eris and the other husbands had gotten everything they needed for traveling back to their tribe.
They were standing at the exit and waiting for Sunnie and the other two husbands to arrive.
Soon, they arrived at the scene to meet them.
"Took you all long enough," Luka said while adjusting the stuff they got ready to leave with.
"Sorry for the delay. Someone didn’t want to wake up earlier," Sunnie folded her arms as she stared at Karl.
Everyone had their eyes on Karl, who kept a firm expression. He stared at them as he said, "And how’s that my fault?"
Eris shook his head as Sunnie stared at the goods they had. They had some fruits packaged, some meat, and general foodstuff.
Sunnie was confused. "And how did you get all these stuff? We didn’t come with anything, and we’re leaving with all these?"
Eris shrugged as he stared down at the stuff. "Well, how do I explain? Let’s just say that it was partially a gift from the tribe."
Karl raised an eyebrow. "A gift from the tribe? How?"
Luka smiled as he explained, "The warrior beastmen were out for hunting this morning. We heard the women worried about them bringing back any meals at all since they hardly got anything around this land."
He continued, "So we decided to go with them and help them out or so. And we were able to help them gather lots and lots of food."
Azure folded his arms as he said, "And they gave us some of what we helped them gather. A little bit of it, though, since we didn’t want much at all."
Sunnie stared at the stuff they packed. "This is a little?"
Luka stared down again. "Yes...?"
She shook her head.
Zukka turned and stared at Zayn and Karl. "I hope you two aren’t mad that we helped them get it."
Silence fell as everyone stared at Zayn and Karl. The two of them stared at them all with a smile.
"And why would we be angry? I think it’s good we helped them get something to eat," Zayn said.
Karl turned back and stared at the tribe. "As Sunnie said, it’s been a long time. We have grown past it and found better things to live for." He smiled at Sunnie. "And since we’ve taken our revenge, why bother with the rest? It’s best we help them with that before we leave. That should do."
Sunnie smiled, proud of Karl’s words. She guessed she was able to influence them to learn to forget and move on with a more hopeful view of things. She was happy that someone like Karl had learned that as well.
She smiled as she said, "That’s good. A grilled meat reward for you when we get back," she smiled as she said.
Karl smiled as he leaned closer to her. "Can I get a kiss as reward instead?" It sounded like a big tease, but Sunnie could tell this eagle was dead serious.
She stared at him with a blink, speechless.
Eris shook his head. "I’m not ready for shameless Karl at all."
"Me too," Luka agreed, also shaking his head.
The rest smiled as they turned to get their things ready. "Enough with the flirting already. Let’s get going before it gets dark," Azure said.
"Right," Zukka agreed as they began carrying up stuff.
Luka had casually picked up a huge, heavy load of meat. He had thought it was a light one, but as soon as he picked it up carelessly, he tripped.
"Ah!" He let out a sharp sound while he staggered to catch the heavy pack of meat tied together. But he couldn’t catch it at all.
The meat had fallen and was about to land on Little Black, who was standing close to him. Everyone panicked, reaching out to see if they could catch it.
But Sunnie had stepped in. She had caught the heavy pack of meat effortlessly and brought it down to a balance.
While she dropped it casually as if she hadn’t even carried anything, everyone stared at her, speechless.
There was silence as their eyes met her. Sunnie stared back at them, confused. "What...? Why are you all staring at me like that?"
But Luka blinked as he stared down at her stomach. At that moment, everyone had their eyes on her stomach as well.
"You..." Little Black said while blinking. "Sister Sunnie, are you pregnant again?"
"...." At that moment, Sunnie had understood what had just happened.
