Chapter 159 - 121: Pan Kejia: I’ll Give You All of My Dad’s Watches
"So, I should head over right after work?"
Seeing that he had agreed, Pan Kejia immediately sent a message.
"Okay."
Chen Mo replied.
He lifted his wrist to check his watch and saw it was almost time to clock out.
So he tidied up, grabbed his keys, and got ready to leave.
When he reached the door, he seemed to remember something. He turned and walked back to where the gifts were piled.
’I remember there being four necklaces and bracelets.’
Chen Mo rummaged through the gift boxes and pulled out two delicate jewelry boxes.
He opened them to take a look. Inside were a gold necklace and a gold bracelet, respectively.
’Perfect. One for each of them.’
Chen Mo smiled and closed the boxes.
He put the two boxes into their original gift bag, then picked it up and headed out.
He drove to the Carlton Hotel and booked a deluxe standard room.
He didn’t get the presidential suite this time. That sort of thing was fine as an occasional experience.
He’d feel a bit shameless staying in one every day.
But even the deluxe standard room had floor-to-ceiling windows with an excellent view overlooking the Bund at night.
After the young lady at the front desk helped him with the check-in, he took the key card and went up to his room.
He set down the gift bag, sent the room number to Pan Kejia, and then stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, quietly gazing at the scenery below.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK~
He had only been watching for a moment when he heard a knock on the door.
’She’s fast.’
Chen Mo turned and walked toward the door.
CLICK~
He glanced through the peephole to confirm who it was before opening the door.
When the door opened, Chen Mo saw Pan Kejia standing there, looking stunning.
Today, she was wearing a light pink business suit.
The top was a light pink suit jacket over a white blouse.
The bottom was a short, light pink pencil skirt, her long, slender legs wrapped in nude stockings.
On her feet was a pair of nude-colored high heels.
It was a very professional outfit, but paired with her increasingly coquettish face and graceful, curvaceous figure...
...even after all the laps they’d run together, the sight of her still took his breath away.
"You got here fast."
Chen Mo grabbed her pale, slender wrist, pulled her into the room, and shut the door behind them.
"Well, I don’t have anyone else to juggle. Unlike you, who’s always making me wait."
Pan Kejia let Chen Mo lead her into the room by the wrist, but her habit of talking tough was already kicking in.
"Should I leave, then?"
Chen Mo glanced at her and asked coolly.
Hearing that, Pan Kejia immediately dropped the tough act. She quickly put down her purse and the gift bag she was carrying.
"Don’t even think about it!"
She threw her arms around his waist, pressing her delicate body against his, and looked up at him, speaking domineeringly.
"Looks like you’re asking for it again."
The corners of Chen Mo’s mouth curved up slightly. Looking at the coquettish, pretty face before him, he leaned down and kissed her.
The floor-to-ceiling windows of a deluxe standard room were also good for admiring the view.
Once again, Chen Mo and Pan Kejia stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows, losing themselves as they admired the beautiful scenery of the Bund below.
While admiring the night view, Pan Kejia seemed too tired from work to even stand steady.
Chen Mo thoughtfully wrapped his arms around her waist, playing the gentleman by letting her lean against him for support.
After looking down at the night view for a while...
Chen Mo looked at the riverfront below, feeling as if he were right there.
It felt as though his feet were on the riverbank, with water washing over them.
Chen Mo grew a bit tired of the scenery, so they moved from the windows back to the bed.
Pan Kejia was tired from standing for so long and rested limply in his arms.
"You little lightweight."
Chen Mo chuckled and stroked her head.
"I am a lightweight..."
Pan Kejia admitted in a lazy tone.
She didn’t argue anymore. If she was a lightweight, she was a lightweight.
Compared to Chen Mo, she would always be the lightweight, anyway.
"If you’re a lightweight, you just need more practice."
Chen Mo patted her perky bottom and quipped.
"I can’t practice by myself. I’ll need your cooperation."
Pan Kejia opened her hazy, beautiful eyes and rolled them at him.
"You can count on me."
Chen Mo raised an eyebrow. It was his bounden duty, after all.
Hearing this, Pan Kejia fell silent.
If they really were to "practice" Chen Mo’s way...
...she was afraid she’d be completely worn out after just a few sessions.
After resting for a while, Pan Kejia seemed to remember something.
She climbed up with some effort and retrieved a small gift box from the table.
"This is for you."
Pan Kejia handed the gift box to him with a very casual air.
But she was watching his reaction out of the corner of her eye.
"What’s this?"
Chen Mo took the small gift box curiously.
"Just open it and see."
Pan Kejia urged him on, pretending to be impatient.
Chen Mo smiled and opened the box in his hands.
After opening it, he found another box inside.
This one, however, had a logo and brand name on it.
IWC
The moment he saw the brand, Chen Mo knew what was inside.
IWC. An IWC watch.
He continued, opening the inner box. Lifting the lid, he indeed found a mechanical watch inside.
It had a white dial, a large, three-dimensional face, and prominent markers.
Blue numerals, blue hands, and a blue alligator leather strap.
It looked dignified yet striking, without being overly flashy.
"What made you think of giving me a watch?"
Chen Mo turned to Pan Kejia and asked with a smile.
"Didn’t you give me a bag last time? I, Pan Kejia, am not the kind of woman who only knows how to receive without giving back."
"My Friends Circle happened to push a watch ad to me, so I just bought it."
Pan Kejia’s flirtatious, pretty face still wore an indifferent expression as she spoke casually.
"Oh, so you didn’t buy it specifically for me? Then I don’t want it."
Chen Mo could see she was just being stubborn, so he deliberately feigned disappointment.
