Chapter 160: Calista Shade
The moment Akasha let go of his hold on "Waking Fears," the darkest, most haunting visions buried deep within each Dark Elf’s mind surged upward unchecked, flooding their thoughts with the raw terror they had long tried to keep hidden.
What they feared most was not personal death or pain, but the complete and final destruction of the Dark Thorn Pantheon itself.
Under the influence of the trait that fear expanded, twisted, and became absolute.
In their minds, they did not merely watch the Dark Thorn fall—they watched the entire Accord of Assimilation collapse in cascading ruin, every alliance shattered, every higher authority erased, every foundation of the power structure they served dissolving into nothing.
And... the effect was instantaneous and catastrophic.
Millions of voices rose in overlapping screams and broken mutters that echoed strangely through the featureless white-and-gray expanse.
"No!! The Thorn cannot fall—"
"The entire Accord is doomed! Everything... everyone—"
The cries and shouts of many Elves were cut short, their voices fading into silence.
One after another, their bodies fell in waves, suspended for a moment in the space before slowly sinking through the dull, gray void.
Almost without thinking, hands flew to heads, gripping tight.
Some Elves curled into themselves as they drifted, while others hung motionless, minds splintering beneath the crushing weight of a fear made flawless and impossible to escape.
In the space of a few heartbeats, the roaring sea of voices collapsed into absolute silence.
Across the pale expanse of the secret realm, an army of millions hung motionless or drifted like discarded dolls, minds completely broken. At the same time, the distant Stronghold of the Shade Clan continued to float in quiet isolation, and Akasha walked forward without breaking stride.
----
Inside the emptied heart of the stronghold, Calista Shade stood frozen before the floating projection.
"What..." She muttered as her black eyes narrowed as she took in the two figures walking calmly through the field of broken Dark Elves.
One of them was luminous and impossible to ignore fully; the other a softer, half-resolved presence at his side.
"They’re too strong..." she realized quickly, unable to make out Akasha or Yume clearly as their forms were slightly blurred. As for Luna, she was entirely imperceptible to Calista unless she focused intently on the seemingly empty space opposite Akasha.
Instantly, caution surged inside of her as the records of her Clan’s survival had taught her that nothing capable of silencing millions in a single breath should ever be trusted....
Not just from her own experiences, but the sheer nonchalance of the slaughter only made that instinct sharper.
The projection kept rolling, showing their lifeless bodies drifting in the endless white-and-gray void, a silence so deep it felt heavier than any roar of the battlefield.
And seeing this, she decided to waste no more time.
Her centuries of responsibility left no room for prolonged hesitation.
HUMMMMMM!!!!!!
Divinity flared around her hands as she poured it into the formation etched into the floor, the Divine Stone at its center beginning to pulse with rising light.
The escape sequence she had prepared for an entire century started to lock into place.
However, before the formation could fully activate, a voice carried through the projection with perfect, unnatural clarity.
"Take us to Calista Shade."
Hearing this... Calista’s eyes widened a fraction, but there was no time to complete the activation or even step back.
In the space between one heartbeat and the next, the pale light of the emptied library shifted, and the figures from the projection were standing in front of her.
Akasha glanced around the emptied chamber once, then spoke again in the same absolute tongue.
"Stop the formation."
Instantly, the Language of Gods settled over the room like a law.
The glowing lines of the escape formation flickered out, fading into darkness.
At the center, the Divine Stone lost its light, growing dull and lifeless.
The faint blurring at the edges of Calista’s body, as she had already begun to phase out of the realm, snapped back into solid presence against her will.
Seeing this, she didn’t lose her cool. One foot eased back over the cold stone floor, a slow, deliberate shift.
One hand slipped behind her while the other lifted in front, palm open and waiting.
"I don’t know who you are... or what your problem is with the Dark Thorn," she said, her face calm, black eyes unwavering despite her escape route now cut off.
"But if you’ve come seeking the knowledge of the Shade Clan," she continued in an even tone, glancing around the space, "well... as you can see, it’s already gone."
And as she spoke, internally, her thoughts raced far ahead of her words.
’Just... why would something like this happen now?’
She had no clue who Akasha and Yume were or where they came from—and honestly, she didn’t care enough to find out.
For five trillion years, no one had dared to challenge the Dark Thorn, and yet suddenly, some mysterious being appeared, slaughtering them without hesitation.
And it wasn’t just that—they clearly had some interest in her.
Right now, all she could think about was putting as much distance between herself and this chaos as possible.
As she knew that knowledge of this magnitude, in the wrong hands, would only make things even more dangerous, never safer.
Catching her thoughts, Luna’s gentle chuckle rippled through the quiet chamber, soon followed by Yume’s softer laugh.
"She’s already getting ready to run again," Luna murmured.
"Fufufu, it looks like she’ll fit right in," she added, noting how tense and wary Calista seemed.
"And she still believes we’re after her Forbidden Knowledge," Yume said, her blue-streaked hair swaying slightly.
"Honestly, I think it’s kind of adorable."
In that moment, Calista’s eyes narrowed slightly.
’Who... is she talking to?’ She wondered as it was clear it was not Akasha, as he hadn’t said anything since stopping her escape.
’Don’t tell me, they have someone even stronger here as well?’
She paused, leaning in to take a closer look, and then she saw her... or at least the space she seemed to fill.
To her, Luna was nothing more than a hazy outline of color and presence, yet it was clear the other woman was speaking to someone just beyond her awareness.
And with that realization... she didn’t wait another second.
"Create Space."
The Language of the Gods flowed from her lips, and the empty library warped and expanded, its walls pushing outward as the space strained to reshape itself into a battlefield at her command.

I thought it would be easier to understand and track the language of the Gods by adding Tiers. To clarify, Akasha would be Tier 14, which represents the second stage of the script.
