Chapter 86: Opposing the Homeroom Teacher Again?
All along the way, people stared at Chloe York and whispered among themselves.
"Chloe, see? I told you you’ve gotten prettier. A lot of the guys are looking at you! No, wait, some of the girls are, too."
Seeing how their classmates were reacting, Stella Winters knew her feeling from that morning had been correct. Chloe York really had become prettier.
"Maybe it’s because I’ve been going to bed earlier these past few days. I’m well-rested, so I probably just look better!" Chloe York casually made up an excuse to placate Stella Winters.
’I thought the System would make me prettier gradually, so that people I see every day wouldn’t notice. I never expected the change to be so fast and obvious.’
"Really? Going to bed early actually works?" Stella Winters’s eyes lit up.
’I don’t have the looks of a great beauty; at best, I could be called cute. If going to bed early can really make me prettier, then I’m going to start going to bed early from now on!’
Chloe York didn’t expect Stella Winters to actually believe her. She had only said that because going to bed early was a task the Physical System had given her.
"I’m not sure, really. But going to bed early definitely has its benefits, and staying up late is bad for your skin!"

Speak of the devil. She had just finished one problem when Mr. Parker arrived.
The moment Brooke York saw Mr. Parker appear, the corners of her mouth curled up. She knew Mr. Parker would definitely be angry when he saw Chloe York doing a test paper during the morning reading session.
After all, the morning reading session was for reading, not for doing test papers. Mr. Parker had just become their homeroom teacher, and Chloe York was already defying him. So, she silently waited for Mr. Parker to get angry, ready to enjoy the show.
But unexpectedly, Mr. Parker just glanced at Chloe York without saying a word before sitting down at the teacher’s desk to grade assignments.
"Brooke, that Mr. Parker didn’t even get mad!" Clara Bell had also been waiting for Mr. Parker to lose his temper, but unexpectedly, he hadn’t.
"I can’t see!" Brooke York snapped back.
Clara Bell, having been snapped at yet again, rubbed her nose. ’How awkward,’ she thought. ’Every time I try to speak to her nicely, she just snaps at me.’
Chloe York had no idea what others were thinking. By the time she finished the three test papers and put down her pen, the morning reading session had ended. The break between classes was already a few minutes in, and the next class was about to begin.
The System’s voice sounded.

The Scholar System’s words filled Chloe York with fighting spirit. She didn’t know what her Memory Value and Wisdom value were before, but she felt that she was now on the verge of reaching the state she was in back then.
Back then, she became the top scorer in the college entrance exams without even reaching that state.
’If I really reach the state the Scholar System is talking about, I can’t even imagine how smart I’ll be, or how incredible my memory will become.’
"Chloe, Mr. Parker didn’t say anything to you just now! And I saw him look at you with admiration in his eyes. It seems like Mr. Parker quite likes you." Stella Winters had been keeping an eye on Mr. Parker the whole time. She had been thinking that if he started walking over to scold Chloe York, she would quickly warn her to put the test paper away.
She never expected that not only did Mr. Parker not do that, he even seemed to approve of what Chloe York was doing.
"That’s because he doesn’t care if students follow the rules to the letter. As long as we’re not doing something unrelated to studying, he won’t interfere. He’s more interested in seeing his students’ grades improve."
Stella Winters nodded. She thought Chloe York was right.
In the following days, Chloe York was able to manage her own time to study hard, do practice tests, and improve her grades. After all, the third mock exam was coming up, and she had to raise her score even more.
In the blink of an eye, it was the final night of the early-to-bed period set by the Physical System. For six straight nights, she had consistently gone to sleep before 11 PM.
Now, she didn’t need anyone to tell her; standing in front of the mirror, she herself could see that she had become very beautiful.
It was still the same face, but it was just stunningly beautiful.
She admired herself in the mirror for a long while. Life was really starting to look up.
