Chapter 1352 - 430: Prison Storm
The unknown land.
Aquarius suddenly felt a bit upset and restless.
In her territory, there lived a group of vicious and depraved people.
Even scattered, these Evil People were enough to wreak enormous havoc; gathered together, they became an existence that even Gods would have to fear.
Aquarius firmly believed that in this world people were divided into good and evil. She, who wielded the power of good and evil, although not strong in personal combat, was definitely enough to duke it out with the future Leo.
However, over the past six months, she had witnessed several instances of "mysterious power."
Inexplicable timeline corrections had forced the Constellations to accept a kind of "mandatory change."
Many of her subordinates had died.
Died because of historical correction.
Now, a faint trace of irritation welled up in Aquarius’s heart, and every time she felt this irritation...
It was often a sign that something unfavorable to her was about to happen.
As one of the Twelve Constellations, Aquarius might not have the strongest combat strength, but her authority allowed her a sense perception that ordinary apocalyptic creatures could hardly understand.
"My lady, what’s wrong?" A sultry female voice came.
"Ning Shu, I’m so on edge. I keep feeling some disgusting little rat is about to steal my toys!" Aquarius said.
"Then would you like me to help fulfill your wish, my lady?" Ning Shu giggled coyly.
"Where’s your empathy! I’m really annoyed right now!" Aquarius huffed.
Ning Shu was her Guard. Not because Ning Shu was particularly powerful, but because Ning Shu had a certain trait—she was "fun."
In the apocalypse, Ning Shu had a title: Desire Demon.
Legend had it that the Desire Demon would appear beside those harboring intense malice and would fulfill one wish of theirs.
If that wish was benevolent, she would be very disappointed, but would still help make it come true.
But if it was malicious, she would become extremely excited and then help make it come true.
However, after it was fulfilled...
The wisher themselves would also suffer a powerful curse.
A sort of rule-type apocalyptic powerhouse—watching Ning Shu satisfy so many people’s greed and, in the end, letting them reap what they sowed—this was an experience Aquarius found extremely entertaining.
She often brought Ning Shu along to look for fun.
But right now, Aquarius was very annoyed.
"I can’t shake the feeling that that annoying guy has done something inside the Deceit Tower. Because the Deceit Tower is not the Desire Tower, it’s still not enough to change reality..."
"But maybe it’s very close to him entering the Desire Tower."
"So damn annoying, so damn annoying, so damn annoying!"
Aquarius’s premonitions were quite accurate; no wonder she ranked right next to Pisces.
Ning Shu merely said:
"I don’t have something like empathy—that’s something only good people have. My lady, would you like to make a wish with me to get rid of your worries?"
Aquarius snorted:
"Tch, and then get backlashed by the wish? No thanks. I’ll find that guy. Sooner or later, he’ll grow disappointed in this world too—hehe—and he’ll become my toy as well."
Ning Shu yawned boredly.
...
...
Hall of Good and Evil.
The card game continued.
The second round of the match began; as usual, it started with drawing cards.
This time, the cards Wen Xishu drew were very bad.
Obviously, the Judge seemed to have further deepened its level of cheating.
The first card Wen Xishu drew targeted the prison inmates.
Cards were divided into four categories. The first category was Special Event Cards, which targeted everyone in the prison. These were very rare.
The second category was Evil Cards, targeting the inmates in the prison.
The third category was Protagonist Cards, targeting the Lost One, Jin Yiming.
The fourth category was Order Cards, targeting the power of the prison guards.
Wen Xishu had drawn an Evil Card, and the first one wasn’t some good deed by an evil person.
Tears of the Evil—once this card was played, the prisoners would become hypocritical, like smiling tigers, one face on the surface and another behind your back.
The second card Wen Xishu drew was a Blank Card.
The third card was an Order Card: the "Craving for Authority" card.
Simply put, this card would cause the guards responsible for watching over the prison to grow fond of abusing their power.
The fourth card was "Delicate Chrysanthemum." This was an extremely... bizarre card, targeting the Lost One.
Once this card was played, the Lost One would voluntarily admit he was a bottom; this would cause his Spirit Value to decrease, but correspondingly—just like in the classic American show Prison Break—once you were willing to make sacrifices and grab onto the "pocket" of the "backpack," the backpack would protect you.
Once this card was played, some big macho man in the prison would regard the Lost One as his own property and forbid anyone else from hurting him.
It was truly not a good card; at least, no straight man could endure that kind of torment. Only people from certain places would think it was pretty nice.
The fifth card was a Blank Card.
The sixth card targeted the Lost One and counted as the first card Wen Xishu drew that could actually boost the Lost One: "Tempered a Thousand Times."
Once this card was played, the Lost One would gain extraordinary physical potential. Note, potential, not a finished product; the premise was—that the Lost One had to keep training in order to cash in on that potential.
If the Lost One’s mind had already collapsed and he’d given up on himself in prison, then clearly he’d be unable to muster the resolve to train.
The seventh card was a Special Event Card—"New Cellmate."
Once this card was played, a new cellmate would appear, but the influence brought by that cellmate was something no one could know in advance.
The eighth card was "After-the-Fact Patrol."
After this card was played, the guard forces would immediately mobilize, allowing the Lost One who was being bullied to receive protection at once. Similar to prison inmates brawling and being timely stopped.
The ninth card was "Warden’s Bible."
This one targeted the guards. If this card was played and the Lost One met the requirements, the warden would gift a Bible to the Lost One and arrange some "brain work" tasks that required the Lost One to think.
