Chapter 1997: The Miserable Fiancée vs. the Noble Lady (Part 32)
"Is there something you need?" Qi Chengxuan asked.
Based on his understanding of Gu Shengyin these days, if there were nothing, she wouldn’t have stared at him for so long.
Thinking of this, Qi Chengxuan couldn’t help but touch his face.
He was quite confident in his appearance and charm, knowing that he was undoubtedly the type that young girls liked. But for some reason, this trick seemed utterly ineffective in front of Miss Chang.
"Yes, I need something." Gu Shengyin nodded graciously.
"Could you help me find some flower seeds?"
Qi Chengxuan asked in confusion, "Flower seeds? What kind of seeds are you looking for?"
He knew that Miss Chang had a knack for cultivating flowers; even an ordinary potted plant could, under her care, display the appearance of a rare treasure.
From Qi Chengxuan’s perspective, the precious flowers in the palace’s Imperial Garden truly couldn’t compare with Miss Chang’s single pink Qiang Wei.
Without thinking, Gu Shengyin said, "Any kind, really. The rarer the better, the harder to grow the better."
Qi Chengxuan: "..."
This was indeed the first time he had heard such a request.
However, it seemed this wasn’t much of a challenge for him.
He nodded, "That’s not a problem. I’ll go home tonight and ask the gardener. If it’s not enough, I’ll request some from the palace for you."
...
Qi Chengxuan’s efficiency was quite impressive.
The next day, when Gu Shengyin returned home, she saw Qi Chengxuan sitting in the main hall, with the Person in Green Clothes standing straight behind him, holding a sizable bag.
Seeing Gu Shengyin return, Qi Chengxuan quickly said, "These are the flower seeds I’ve gathered. Take a look and see if there’s anything missing, and I’ll find it for you."
Gu Shengyin went over and took a glance, discovering that the bag in the hands of the Person in Green Clothes contained packages of seeds, each labeled with the flower name.
Upon closer inspection, there were at least dozens of flower varieties in this bag.
With a brief scan, she saw varieties like Yao Huang, Wei Zi, Blue Field Snow, Reflecting Morning Glow, Ink Orchid, Cold Orchid, and others.
She nodded, "Thank you, Prince."
Qi Chengxuan waved his hand, curiously asking, "You’re going to cultivate flowers?"
Gu Shengyin replied, "Of course, if I don’t cultivate flowers, what will Flower King Pavilion sell?"
Qi Chengxuan asked curiously, "I heard that today you sent out all the flowers from Flower King Pavilion and won’t reopen for two months?"
He pointed to the seeds in front of them, "You don’t plan to grow all these things in two months, do you?"
That’s simply impossible, isn’t it? Not to mention, time alone is utterly inadequate.
Let alone that most of these flowers shouldn’t even bloom this season.
Gu Shengyin glanced at him and said, "Naturally, I have my methods."
Qi Chengxuan didn’t feel even slightly offended; instead, countless curious thoughts rose in his heart.
He really wanted to see if, two months later, this Miss Chang could truly make a hundred flowers bloom at the Flower King Pavilion.
As usual, Gu Shengyin brewed him a cup of tea.
"Before you drank my tea, Prince, you wouldn’t have thought that the heat toxin in your body could be resolved with just one cup of tea a day, would you?"
Qi Chengxuan was momentarily at a loss for words, managing only to squeeze out, "The world is vast; though I consider myself not narrow-minded, I still lack experience."
Gu Shengyin laughed and said, "From tomorrow, I need not go out, so you needn’t come so late every afternoon, Prince."
After she said this, she received no response. Looking up, she saw Qi Chengxuan sitting in the chair, staring dazedly at her.
