Chapter 1899: The Eighth Seraphim vs. Eye of Darkness (Part 40)
He did not gaze around but slightly lowered his head, adopting a posture of utmost reverence before the Divine Throne.
God’s indifferent voice resonated in the ears of all angels: "Holy Son Messiah, My stand-in on Earth, Great Wise Man who spreads the gospel. Now returning to Heaven, should ascend to the rank of Seraphim."
As God’s words fell, the Word Spirit immediately took effect.
Gu Shengyin, not far from Messiah, clearly perceived that as God’s words descended, the power within Messiah was growing at an incredibly terrifying pace.
The immense, uncontrollable aura nearly forced her body to retreat.
A hand from behind promptly supported her, and a gentle Power of Light entered her body, alleviating the discomfort.
Gu Shengyin knew who it was.
The only one standing on her right side was Lucifer, the Seraphim Chief.
Unable to speak at the moment, Gu Shengyin could only turn her head and offer Lucifer a grateful smile.
She knew that if she had truly been forced to retreat by Messiah’s aura just now, in the minds of other angels, it would imply that she couldn’t compare to Massiah.
Although Heaven does not purely rank by strength, if she truly showed inferiority to Messiah, her prestige among the angels would undoubtedly diminish greatly.
Gu Shengyin bore no hostility towards this companion, but she also did not want to be seen as a stepping stone on the day of his formal debut.
Massiah seemed to take a while to adapt to his new identity.
Excitedly, he knelt before God, declaring that from now on, he would steadfastly uphold his faith and serve God wholeheartedly.
Next came the ceremony where Holy Son Messiah, in the capacity of a Seraphim, received the worship of all angels.
Watching Messiah, revered by countless High-Rank Angels and basking in infinite glory, a strange thought suddenly sprang up in Gu Shengyin’s mind.
This Heaven seems to have undergone a change.
Unlike her anxiousness.
Other Seraphim, albeit finding the sudden addition of a companion somewhat abrupt, generally welcomed him warmly.
In their minds, receiving the acknowledgment of the divinities signified that Messiah indeed deserved this honor.
In the minds of angels, the will of God is the highest law.
Messiah was of good character; compared to His Highness the Seraphs who always occupied a high status in the minds of angels, he was more approachable and quickly amassed a large group of admirers in Heaven.
Gu Shengyin, however, grew increasingly uneasy.
She felt that God’s actions had an underlying significance.
She went alone to see God.
Without intimate closeness, she knelt solemnly and devoutly on the white jade floor of the Great Cathedral, expressing her unease.
God listened quietly until she finished speaking.
Gu Shengyin sensed a gentle force lifting her up.
And then she heard God’s words:
"Gallia, I am about to do something I greatly loathe yet cannot change."
"Do not involve yourself in this matter..."
For the first time, Gu Shengyin realized that there were things even the Creator God couldn’t resolve.
A thought suddenly flashed through her mind: Is it because of the Balance of Light and Darkness?
She knew this; she had realized long ago the flaw in this world— the Force of Light was too strong.
