Chapter 1916: The Eighth Seraphim vs. Eye of Darkness (End)
Lucy looked at Gu Shengyin. "What do you want to say?"
Gu Shengyin slowly walked forward, and all of a sudden a flash of light appeared in her eyes.
Lucy was stunned.
Countless scenes flashed through his mind; Gu Shengyin was the first to see the look of discomposure on his face.
She didn’t speak, quietly waiting for Lucy to calm down on his own.
It was a long time before Lucy came back to himself.
There was still a smile on his face, but his words carried a faint, teeth-gritting edge. "So, this is the reason I was abandoned?"
What Gu Shengyin had just told him were the things she knew.
She did not answer Lucy’s question.
As for what the truth really was, Lucy would make his own judgment.
Lucy let out a cold laugh. "What a noble choice. Am I very magnificent, sacrificing myself for heaven and earth and all living things?"
He didn’t wait for Gu Shengyin’s answer, but stood there laughing to himself.
Perhaps this was the first time Lucy had revealed all his grievances in front of an outsider.
He turned around and fixed his gaze on Gu Shengyin. "No matter whether you told me this under his instructions or not, I, Lucy, can tell you very clearly: in this life, I will never forgive!"
Gu Shengyin was not surprised to hear this answer.
She said, "I’m telling you this only to say a farewell to an old friend from the past. No matter what, Your Highness, as the one involved, you ought to know these things."
Lucy could hear that there was something off in her tone.
But his heart was in complete turmoil now, and he simply couldn’t calmly think things through.
Gu Shengyin glanced at the time and said to Lucy, "Your Highness, please say goodbye to Samael and Belial for me. I won’t go see them separately anymore."
Without waiting for Lucy’s reply, she turned and walked out.
After leaving Hell, Gu Shengyin went straight back to Heaven.
She went to the Great Cathedral.
This was the first time in several hundred years that she had taken the initiative to enter the Great Cathedral.
God sat upon the Divine Throne, waiting for her.
Gu Shengyin spoke softly. "God, I went to see Lucy."
God replied, "I know."
His attention had always been on Gallia; her trip to Hell he had seen with complete clarity.
Gu Shengyin walked forward step by step, and suddenly asked, "God, may I give you a hug?"
A glint of light abruptly flashed in God’s golden eyes.
He looked at Gu Shengyin, a trace of expectation in his tone. "Gallia..."
Gu Shengyin smiled. "I revere you, God. What Gallia says has never changed."
As God watched, his expression turning wistful and lost, she leaned in and hugged him.
At the instant she let go, her voice sounded softly by God’s ear. "God, Gallia has never blamed you. You are a great divinity, and Gallia’s eternal faith."
God felt that something wasn’t quite right.
But he didn’t realize what it was, and could only watch with eyes wide open as Gu Shengyin walked out of the Great Cathedral.
Back in her own palace, the system asked her, "Host, are you ready?"
Gu Shengyin nodded. "Yes."
She lay down on the bed, letting her Divine Soul slowly withdraw from this world bit by bit.
Her mission in this world had long since been completed.
Making a special trip to Hell, just as she herself had said, was to bid farewell to an old friend.
Gu Shengyin didn’t know what state she should face God in, so she chose to escape.
"I’m sorry, my lover..."
She gently closed her eyes.
