The police understood Mason Nightshade’s meaning, and their expression instantly turned cold. "What exactly happened?"
Nico Spencer spoke before Aurelia Shaw could, "Here’s what happened. Tonight, I hosted a banquet inviting everyone to the house. "Did you find the diamond necklace?" The police asked an officer, who shook his head.
Nico Spencer was taken aback.
Tears were in Aurelia Shaw’s eyes; her face was still pale from fright. She shook her head, tears slid from her eyes, leaving two faint trails down her cheeks, more visible under the light.
"I’ve never seen any diamond necklace. As soon as I went in, I saw Mrs. Spencer furtively doing something with the safe. When she heard me come in, she got startled and asked if I saw anything?
I said I didn’t see anything, but Mrs. Spencer didn’t believe me. She grabbed my wrist and said only dead people can keep secrets."
Mason Nightshade pulled the trembling Aurelia Shaw into his arms. The police noticed the deep scratches on Aurelia’s arms, marks that could only be left by someone exerting great force.
Seeing this, Nico Spencer quickly exclaimed, "The safe couldn’t be empty. It held the Heart of Moonlight necklace, and it is incredibly valuable. No woman can resist diamonds." He hinted at something.
Those around were shocked by this revelation, quickly intrigued.
"The Heart of Moonlight disappeared after it was purchased at an auction over a decade ago. Its mystery and legend have made it the necklace women desire most. To think it was in Cymbeline Jennings’ possession."
"This is even stranger. Was it Aurelia Shaw coveting the ’Heart of Moonlight,’ or did Cymbeline Jennings do something suspicious that Aurelia walked in on, prompting her to silence her? Was Cymbeline trying to hide some family secret in her urgency to kill?"
"I think Cymbeline Jennings wanted to frame Aurelia, and Aurelia turned the tables and killed her instead. They never got along. Aurelia even caused Cymbeline’s daughter to be stuck in a mental hospital, unable to be released. If I were Cymbeline... I would definitely kill her for revenge, and if I were Aurelia, I would eliminate her to avoid having such a dangerous time bomb threaten me in the future." Suddenly, a gray-haired old man spoke up.
