Chapter 1201: Asking for a Kiss
After dinner, Mason Nightshade held Aurelia Shaw in his arms again and went upstairs, placing her on the bed.
Aurelia Shaw struggled, not needing him to carry her, but she had already been lifted into the air and then placed down. Looking at his long, straight legs, Aurelia muttered to herself, "So what if your legs are long?"
Mason Nightshade thoroughly enjoyed the process of taking care of her, rubbing his head against hers and inhaling her scent, a mix of the fragrance of her body wash and her unique aroma, like a large dog nuzzling around. "I’m going to work now."
"Hurry up and go!" Having just lost face in front of the servants, Aurelia Shaw felt annoyed whenever she saw Mason Nightshade, wishing to chase this domineering, dictatorial large dog out of her room.
Mason Nightshade stared fixedly at Aurelia Shaw, his gaze dark and lacking the aloofness and sharpness it held facing others. His long, slender eyes encompassed a pair of beautifully dark eyes, gentle and pitiable, with a strong desire soaring up without any disguise.
Aurelia Shaw straightened her back and met his gaze, refusing to yield.
Mason Nightshade’s persistence was unmatched, and his specialty was acting. His piercing gaze looked pitiful without appearing weak, cleverly leaving Aurelia with the feeling that she had bullied him.
After a lengthy stalemate, Aurelia Shaw sighed and relented, giving him a kiss on the forehead.
Quietly, Mason Nightshade’s lips curved into a trace of a smile, his eyes swiftly flashing with a teasing glint. He raised his chin, and instead of landing on his forehead, her soft lips landed on his lips as he’d anticipated.
The obedient black eyes displayed a surprised smile akin to a film emperor’s acting skills.
"I’m heading to work. Call me on my cell if anything comes up." With those words, Mason Nightshade turned and left.
Aurelia Shaw thoughtfully touched her lips, feeling as if she had suffered a loss. The more she thought about it, the more her feeling became certain, recalling the smile that had flashed in Mason Nightshade’s eyes, which she had overlooked.
Aurelia Shaw confirmed she had been played!
...
For the entire afternoon, Mason Nightshade kept a smile on his face—smiling during meetings, smiling while meeting clients, smiling when his secretary came with documents to sign, and even when a potential business partner suddenly broke off a deal, Mason Nightshade went to negotiate with a smile.
It led the other party to think he had some bad intentions, terrifyingly rescinding additional conditions, and they didn’t dare mention the matter of breaking the contract again.
The entire Nightshade Corporation felt the boss’s cheerful mood bringing benefits to everyone.
The company chatrooms were buzzing with gossip about what made the boss so happy today.
Did he find new love, or did a competitor company surrender voluntarily, resulting in their acquisition?
Various guesses found their answers at an important evening meeting.
Recently, Nightshade Corporation had been negotiating a major deal with the Easton Group, taking over three months, and they had finally finalized the contract for this meeting.
Amir Easton initially wanted to match his daughter with Mason Nightshade and took the opportunity to bring her along to this meeting. Though he heard of Mason Nightshade’s entanglement with Aurelia Shaw and hints of reconciliation, as long as they’re not divorced, there’s still an opportunity. Lynn Easton’s gaze lingered on Mason Nightshade; the sentiments of a young girl were plain to see, a smile at her lips and eyes revealing her fondness.
Unfortunately, the opposite party did not cast a glance her way from start to finish.
Lynn Easton felt a twinge of disappointment.
"Buzz!" Mason Nightshade’s phone vibrated.
While speaking earnestly, Mason Nightshade suddenly stopped, picked up his phone to reply to a message.
Everyone assumed it was a message from someone of great importance and collectively held their breath, not daring to interrupt.
Before long, Mason Nightshade’s phone rang. He shook his head, smiling indulgently as he answered the video call, and the image that appeared was so striking it made his eyes narrow!
