Chapter 1198: The Mysterious Scar on His Body

Aurelia Shaw gathers her scattered thoughts, her long and fine eyelashes covering deep eyes, as she gets up and returns to Nightshade Residence.

Mason Nightshade is still asleep.

Mason is a light sleeper, any slight movement would wake him up, a result of years of battle and dealing with assassins sent by enemies. Yet, when holding Aurelia, he sleeps soundly, inhaling the fragrance mixed with her body wash, which acts as a soothing aroma for him.

Aurelia sets the necklace down, turns back to see the sleeping Mason, noticing his gaunt chin, handsome face, her lips curling into a smile involuntarily. Her fingers run along the high bridge of his nose, rubbing and pinching it playfully.

No matter how deeply Mason sleeps, he’s awakened by her little actions.

Mason opens his eyes drowsily to see Aurelia looking down at him, her soft long hair cascading like seaweed at her waist, with a few strands sneaking out from behind her ear. Her alluring peach-blossom eyes seem veiled in a mist, reflecting his figure.

Feeling moved, Mason pulls her into his embrace, rubbing her a couple of times, "Not sleeping in the middle of the night, watching me?"

"Just love looking at you."

"Am I good-looking?" Mason’s tone is indulgent.

"Good-looking."

Mason clicked his tongue twice, feeling very proud, when suddenly he felt a chill below—it turns out the woman had lifted his nightwear, which she then pressed back down with one hand.

"Stop it, stirring up trouble in the middle of the night. If you get hungry, you’re not responsible; you only provoke." Raising a kitten is really not easy, Mason sighed inwardly.

"What are you thinking!" Aurelia raised his sleepwear again, her fingers sliding over the scar on his waist, long and thin—with one on each side—as if from something tightly bound like a rope. "How did this happen?"

Mason’s eyes darkened as he grabbed her hand, pressing her whole body beneath him, a rogue smile playing on his lips, "I’ve told you to behave, but you just won’t listen, igniting the fire. Madame, mind putting it out for me?"

Aurelia opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, Mason had already sealed her lips, leaving no sound other than "mm mm."

Aurelia knew in her heart he was intentionally changing the subject, yet under his intense offensive, there was no brain left to think about anything else.

...

The next day, the warm and dazzling sun shines on the oversized bed, the woman’s long and slender leg moves slightly, her hand rubbing her eyes. She opens the charming peach-blossom eyes concealed by her long fine eyelashes, squints her eyes, glances at the clock on the wall.

It’s noon.

Aurelia never deliberately makes herself suffer, allowing herself to sleep until noon when there’s no work. The midday hunger calls awaken her.

She gets up from bed, walks to the wardrobe to choose clothes, her beautiful figure becoming particularly stunning under the sunlight.

The nightwear she wore last night was torn apart by Mason’s bestial fervor; now she’s wearing nothing.

In the wardrobe are still those clothes from before, each carefully selected by Mason, sorted into which can be worn only in his presence, and which can be worn out.

Mason appears to be a macho man on the surface, with a bit of a rogue nature, seemingly not one who’d know such details. But with her, Mason thought of everything he could and cared for all he could.

Aurelia casually put on a piece, tidied up, and went downstairs. Aunt Rong greeted her and, seeing her looking around, secretly stifled a laugh:

"The meal’s being made, will be ready soon. Young Madam, you can take a stroll in the garden first; Master has put a lot of effort in the garden for you." Aunt Rong said, feigning mystery.
