Chapter 278.2: Lu Changsheng Descends on the Demon Nation and Forces His Way into the Flower Spirit Hall! The Ancient Demon Taozun Appears! (II)
Lu Changsheng went over his instructions for Chen Ping afterward. Then, he left the capital of Jing without a sound and went straight for the demon nation.
There were fewer humans in the demon nation than there had been, and the reason was simple enough. The demon nation had begun slaughtering blood descendants on a large scale. To a demon, the quantity of blood descendants posed no difficulty whatsoever.
Killing people, however many, laid no weight on a demon's mind. No amount of killing would wipe humanity out. At the very worst, it meant waiting a few years before ordinary people grew back like crops to be harvested by true demons all over again. True demons have never once worried about the size of the human population. As such, the blood descendants in the demon nation were in a wretched position.

At present, a blood descendant named Liu Feng was moving from hiding place to hiding place, staying ahead of the true demons hunting him.
Liu Feng had remarkable natural talent. He had been at First Growth when he was first converted, but within one or two short years, he had broken through to Third Growth and stepped into transcendence. If he trained steadily from there on, Fourth Growth and even Fifth Growth were not out of the question for him.
Once he reached Third Growth, he killed the pack of ordinary true demons that had slaughtered his family, including a greater demon. After that, he wandered wherever the road took him, cutting true demons down across the demon nation. However, the whole nation had turned to exterminating blood descendants lately, and his position had grown difficult, but at least he was not dead yet.
Liu Feng had joined the Temple of Flesh and Blood and been given a task by it. He was to keep watch on the demon soil and wait patiently for his moment. A great person would be coming into the demon nation, and when he did, Liu Feng's job was to guide him to the soil.
As such, he had been lying low in the demon nation and waiting quietly. He was looking forward keenly to whoever this great person of the temple turned out to be. As Liu Feng saw it, the Temple of Flesh and Blood was his salvation and everyone else's.
Without it, there was no telling how many people would have ended up as feed for the demon race with nothing to resist it. Things were different now. Humanity was still suffering terribly with many dead and wounded, but at least it had the strength to fight back. The demon race had also paid a fair price of its own.
Liu Feng waited patiently until one day, a powerful consciousness swept across his hiding place.
A demon king?
His face changed completely. It was a demon king, and it had found him.
The demon king had horns growing out of his head and a vicious grin all over his face. "Heh. A fish that had slipped the net is right here. A Third Growth blood descendant, no less! I'll catch him, hand him in, and gain another fine piece of merit."
Liu Feng turned to run almost instantly without thinking. However, the demon king had been ready for that. The creature was a monstrous bird that could fly, and its speed was like lightning.
Whoosh!
It was on him in a breath, and there was no escaping at all.
Though he saw that he could not get away, Liu Feng held no fear. Instead, his eyes filled with hatred. "You want to take me? Then you die with me!"
He was on the point of letting loose every scrap of flesh in his body at once to devour the demon king's flesh with it.
Just then, a voice came out of nowhere. "A mere demon king being this arrogant?"
As the words landed, every head there snapped up.
It seemed to them that the sky had gone dark in every direction at once. No, it was not the sky going dark but overhead, where everyone of them could see, hung an enormous palm larger than anything any of them had seen. It shut out the sky and the sun, covering the whole vault of heaven.
"Who is that?"
"Who in the world is that?"
"A pressure this terrible... an ancient demon?"
Shock went through the demon king as he felt the aura come down. Terror and despair showed together on his face.
An ancient demon! This was a palm strike to match an ancient demon! How was a mere demon king supposed to block it? Since when had there been a blood descendant this strong? Nobody had ever heard of such a thing.
The strongest blood descendant in the demon nation ran to Fourth Growth and no further, which was at the level of a demon king. However, one look at that palm settled it. That was nothing like Fourth Growth and nothing like the equal of a demon king. That was at the level of an ancient demon standing at the top of every demon there was.
Bam!
The enormous palm came down. All demons within several li of the place, which included dozens of greater demons and one demon king, were all of them reduced to pulp beneath it.
Even then, it was not finished. A great mass of flesh divided off from beneath the palm and settled over the pulp those true demons had become. Their flesh began being devoured without pause until their auras went out entirely in the blink of an eye. Dozens of greater demons and a demon king were dead just like that. One palm, and dozens of true demons wiped out!
Liu Feng speechlessly watched with wonder, then he gathered himself back quickly. "Which... which lord of the Temple of Flesh and Blood are you?"
He knew only that the newcomer was the temple's great personage, and which one he could not say. A man with technique and strength this terrible would stand very high in the temple indeed.
Whoosh!
A figure came down in a few bounds and stood in front of him. Liu Feng shuddered upon seeing that figure, and a wild joy welled up in him. He could hardly believe his own eyes.
That figure was far too familiar, and it was familiar to every blood descendant alive. Add the closeness rising out of somewhere deep in his body, and there could be no mistake. It was the progenitor! The man who had built the Temple of Flesh and Blood, the source of every blood descendant, the Flesh and Blood Progenitor.
Liu Feng went down respectfully on his knees, and the excitement put a faint tremor into his voice. "Blood descendant Liu Feng greets the progenitor!"
The Flesh and Blood Progenitor had come into the demon nation in person. The great personage he had been waiting to receive was the Flesh and Blood Progenitor himself.
"You are the blood descendant Liu Feng? Very good." Lu Changsheng nodded. He had seen exactly what happened. Facing a demon king with no chance of winning, Liu Feng had still meant to shatter himself along with his enemy. Dying or not, he was going to put everything he had into one struggle.
Liu Feng drew a deep breath, settled his excitement, and could not keep a warning back. "Progenitor, I never imagined you would come to the demon nation yourself. This place is very dangerous."
Lu Changsheng did not beat around the bush and asked outright, "Doesn't matter. Not even an ancient demon can do anything to me. I have come to the demon nation for demon plants. Do you know where the demon soil is? The soil with the most plants growing in it, above all."
"The demon soil?" Liu Feng answered him. "Progenitor, I know where it is, down to the exact locations, and I have been to it myself. If you want the place that raises the most plants, that would be the Flower Spirit Hall. The Flower Demon King manages it, and it belongs to the ancient demon Taozun.[1]
“Taozun guards the Flower Spirit Hall himself, and the moment anything stirs among those plants, he would know about it. If you want to take the plants of the Flower Spirit Hall, you will not be able to avoid him, Progenitor."
Liu Feng laid out everything he knew, holding nothing back.
"The ancient demon Taozun." Lu Changsheng's eyes narrowed slightly as he weighed it. Taozun was a match for Fifth Growth, but that put no fear into him. At his own strength, he was not quite unbeatable within his tier, but he came close to it.
Of course, the Demon Progenitor was a different story, and he was very wary of them.
