Tou no Madoushi
Episode 20: Magrillheim's Scouts
"55th floor, to the second arena"
When you say that in magic language, an elevator with Lynn and Theo on it makes a noise and moves out. Lynn and Theo were on their way to the classroom where the ring magic class would take place.
"You're gonna do it in a different place today."
Theo said as he looked at the classroom change contact in the college book.
"They have practical skills today. See, it's in the subject line."
"I see. So do we use the arena? Looks like you're finally gonna have an interesting class."
"Yeah."
Lynn wholeheartedly agreed with what Theo said.
He has been looking forward to today's class ever since he read the contents of the class in the subject matter requirements.
That's because in this class, I seem to use the 'Lucendo's Ring' that I used to fight the Beast.
Lynn remembered the strange feeling of the ring that she felt then.
I can touch that oddly familiar ring again. And I can use that ring more highly. I was excited to think of that.
The second stadium on the 55th floor was an establishment centered around a spacious circular space.
A gallery is set up at the top for tourists.
Lynn's gaze is sucked into the center of the classroom.
The central part of the classroom is furnished with rarely shaped rocks and pedestals.
Therefore on the pedestal lay the 'ring of Lucendo'. Lynn felt her chest rattle.
There were already a large number of students in the classroom waiting for the class to begin.
"Ah, it's Yuven"
"Roar."
Lynn realizes Yuven is in the classroom too, and Theo looks disgusted.
I was rarely alone today.
Though I usually chat with the kids in the fancy group.
The gaze looks up without a heart.
(What?
Lynn tried to follow Yuven's gaze.
Apparently Yuven was looking at the gallery.
The gallery is equipped with narrow passages along the upper indoor walls.
There are also college students in the gallery watching and chatting about this one.
"You're an upper class," Theo muttered.
Sure enough, the college students on top of the gallery were taller and more grown-up than Lynn and Theo.
Yuven apparently stared at someone in the gallery.
Lynn stares at the person ahead of Yuven's gaze.
There was an unexpected person there.
(Is that... Kruga!?
There was Kruga, a senior nobleman of Spyrna, who made him the winner of a series of magical guided competitions I had only seen in photographs.
There's Ellios next door and he's talking about something.
"Hey, that's Kruga, isn't it? Yuven's after me...... You knew Ellios."
"Why are you two here?"
Lynn noticed that the air in the classroom was strangely softer.
There are nervous facedown kids, restless, kick-ass kids, or even kids meditating to get more focused, or even kids with heads.
It was impossible in my regular class.
"That's some weird air."
Looks like Theo noticed the odd air in the classroom, too.
"I wonder what's going on"
"Let's hear it"
Theo speaks to a triary-speaking child who talks a lot from time to time.
"Hey. You got something for me today? Oddly enough, they're all nervous.
"You don't know? Magrillheim is coming to inspect this class today. Those who have most successfully demonstrated the power of the ring will be scouted and promoted to the 'Hedin Forest' exploration team, which will take place in the summer. I was told on the bulletin board yesterday."
"What? That's a rush story."
"I hear Mr. Tidro's idea."
"Tidoro... the chief one you were talking about at that admissions ceremony!
"That's right. Damn. If this is the case, I should have practiced more ring magic in advance."
The child Theo spoke to regrets holding his head.
(I see. So we're all so softy)
Lynn was convinced.
The Wizard, who made his name in history, has something in common.
That means he was using his own special magic props, warcraft, and spirits.
"Hedin Forest" is the place where historical magicians discovered the original stones and warcraft that become parts of the latest magic props.
Besides, there are still a number of unreached places for mankind.
I've never gone over anything I want to stand up for as a magician to get in early.
Besides, Magrilheim is a guild with a selection of members in the tower as well.
If you belong to Magrillheim, you are more likely to reach deeper into the woods to get unknown items.
"Oh, you made it."
A loud voice echoes into the arena. It was Tidro's voice.
When Lynn turned to her voice, Tidro was there near the lifting mouth of the gallery.
Looks like we just got here.
Behind him is a member of the investigation team Magrilheim following Zorozolo.
Their gaze made the students in the arena nervous without refusing.
"Everybody's giving me a tour today. As you probably already know, we're going to scout those who scored high in today's class for our guild Magrillheim."
That's what Tidro said with a loud voice that resonated throughout the arena.
"I cannot enter the 'Forest of Hedin' unless I have normally obtained a unit in Warcraft. But! I doubt this system. [M] Talented and aspiring people should enter the Hedin Forest early and be inspired. So we directly appealed to the Association of Magic Instructors for institutional changes so that even elementary class humans could be taken to explore the woods. The association gave me conditional recognition."
(You're such a hot, bitter guy)
Theo flashed his face.
For him Tidro was a person who didn't want to get too close to you.
"Today I'm going to show you how much I've been trying to trick you as a wizard from time to time. The Wizard must have the strength to cope with any unforeseen circumstances. All that matters for this is talent and constant effort. There's no point in studying overnight pickles or training three-day boys. I want to see your vegetarian strength today. So don't worry about us. Encourage me in my ring magic class."
Tidro couldn't care less from the students who could see the strength of what he said. I just thought I was under pressure. The twitching kids just kept twitching.
"Theo, what do you think?
One thing I can't keep up with the atmosphere in the classroom, Lynn asked Theo.
"Uh-huh. I wonder if you're interested. I'm a hard worker at my pace."
Then resign.
"Wow, Yuven?
Suddenly Yuven's thorny voice flew from behind and Theo turned to surprise. Sounds like she was approaching at some point and listening to Lynn and Theo talking.
"Decline, you're a basic magic subject. You have to take credit. Graduation can't go any further," Theo said.
"You're not interested in the expedition, are you? I'm not interested. Don't you think I'd be sorry if they chose you over a kid like me who's interested?
"No, even if they say so..."
"Only me and you could activate Rydges' sword in the 64th grade. I mean, it's me or you who's likely to be scouted. If you resign, there's a good chance I won't be chosen."
"... you're very motivated."
"It would be obvious. If you're scouted here, you'll be close to Kruga and other promising senior nobles at once."
"You're looking for a man," Theo said in a frightening mood.
"No, I'm not. For the title."
"You're extra impure!
"Anyway!"
Yuven fingers Bishi Teo.
"Okay? Don't just stand in my way, right? If I disturb you, it's not free."
That's what Yuven said and walked away.
"I'm telling you that. What do we do, Theo?
"Know what? I don't have a brother-in-law to go with him at his convenience. All I normally do is take units. Don't worry about it."
Lynn realized she had herself disappointed that Yuven hadn't spoken to her.
He could still not forget the cold of her hand, which he had previously felt when he was held by her, and the sweet scent that had drifted when he had brought his face closer.
While we're doing this, the Professor of Ring Magic, Wives, shows up.
"Yes, gentlemen! Be quiet. I'll start the class."
