Tou no Madoushi

Episode 36: Encountering the Warcraft

Walking in the bushes drained twice as much health as a maintained path.

(I see. This is tough)

Lynn's breathing up a little.

"Are you all right?

Illyweer cares about me.

"Yeah, I'm fine"

Lynn said as she looked at the Illyweer walking next door.

And I wonder how she walks.

It was no different from walking down a well-maintained road, and there was no fine dust about how tired I was.

That's not just a matter of health.

Illyweer didn't have to hand tear the bushes apart or cross the tree branches like Lynn did, even though she was walking next to Lynn.

Every time she takes a step, the bush softens like a diving cushion beneath her feet to take her steps.

If she tries to pass beside the tree, the tree suddenly causes it to branch and clear the way before her.

(I'm using magic)

Lynn didn't realize in the beginning that she was using magic because too natural a move could be made to keep trees and grasshoppers out of the way of Illywia.

As much as that, the movement of her and the world around her was natural and insignificant.

"Amazing. It's like grass and trees are avoiding Mr. Illyweer."

"Lynn will be able to do it soon, too. If you take a Warcraft class, it's the first thing you learn."

"How can I do that? You haven't cast a spell, you haven't waved a wand, have you?"

"You're going to react with trees and grass spirits. Tell them you just want to go through and they'll help you."

For the first time since Ilywia told me, Lynn realized that there were spirits in trees and grass as well.

Their presence was so vague that they didn't realize they were just walking caricaturally.

Lynn tried to hear the spirits of trees and grass.

But they don't open their minds.

It didn't work like a ring.

"That's hard."

"Hehe. Then I can help you."

Illyweer puts her hand on Lynn's shoulder.

Her magic covered the area around Lynn.

Lynn shared the view she saw as Illyweer, the sound she was hearing.

It was like a different world there.

Nothing. The murderous landscape of the forest was glowing with the souls of numerous spirits, and the whispers of the trees could be heard like the sounds of bugs heard from afar.

A tree spirit stands forward. Lynn tried to keep an eye on the Spirit. That's all the tree spirits smile and twist their bodies slightly to pave the way before Lynn.

(Wow. Is this the world Mr. Illyweer is looking at?)

Her magic was literally of another dimension. Lynn was reminded of how naive her magic was that she had ever remembered in college.

Suddenly Lynn's ring gives off a strong glow.

"Oh, this is..."

"Warcraft is nearby."

Illyweer snapped quietly.

Her hands go away.

She seemed to have divided the use of her powers among her opponents.

"There..."

Illyweer points to the right side of Lynn, a little further away.

"There's a warcraft lurking in that bush over there."

That's what she said. No. Someone in the bush snapped out of it.

Lynn sets herself up and focuses her gaze on where the bush is moving.

But coming out of the bush was a warcraft the size of a rat likely to ride on the palm of his hand.

The ears of the sharp fangs are pinned and the tail stands like an antenna.

Either look adorable.

"Oh, it's a rare, frightening rat."

"Pell Rat? What is it?"

"It's a kind of rat-type warcraft, but it doesn't harm humans. It's a warcraft that detects danger with this tail like an antenna. But that's weird. Because I'm timid, I'm usually never supposed to show up in public..."

Pell Rat collapsed as if she was going to end up saying that. I think I passed out. Lynn and Ilyweer approach in horror.

"I'm injured. And deep wounds."

"True."

Pell Rat had a deep bite wound to his stomach area.

Apparently, some other warcraft attacked me.

Illyweer casts a spell and gently strokes the wounded part of Pell Rat. Then the deep wound blocked as I looked at it.

(Can healing magic also be used?)

Lynn wrapped her tongue around the number of her drawers.

"And that's weird. Pell Rat should be good at detecting danger..."

After healing Pell Rat's wounds, Illyweer put him to sleep on a soft bush and waited for him to wake up.

Eventually Pell Rat woke up.

He wakes up or denies or "kicks" a short buzz and jumps up and takes a distance from Lynn or Illyweer.

Ask how this one is doing with rattles and trembles.

"You don't have to be scared. We just want to know what happened to you."

Illyweer spoke gently to Per Rat.

The words were different from magic words.

Lynn could only understand it in one word, although she had grasped the meaning for you.

Illyweer continued to stick to Pell Rat, who was scared and hard to come close to.

When I found out I couldn't just speak up, I threw the bait at him and gave him away, trying to break his guard.

"Go ahead. Eat. You must be hungry.

Pell Rat, who was frightened at first, also began to approach this one with a snag, and crushed the bait. Confirming that there was no hostility here, he allowed his heart.

I rode on her shoulder, prompted by Illyweer, and started whispering something in her ear.

Illyweer listens to Pell Rat.

(Can you also communicate with Warcraft?)

I can barely tell Lynn what Pell Rat is talking about.

Only a fraction of his words could be picked up in magic.

"Hmm. I see. I understand the general situation."

After listening all the way from Perl Rat, she starts telling Lynn what's going on as well.

"He was apparently attacked by Kimyra"

"Kimyra?"

"It's a monstrous beast with a goat's torso and a snake's tail on the lion's head."

"That's... scary"

"He says his people are still exposed to Kimyra's pursuit. So you covered him and pulled Kimyra. He wants us to help his people. What do you want to do?

"No, I don't care what they say we do..."

"Why don't you fight Kimyra anyway? This is a summer exploration so I wasn't going to be too pushy, but it could be a good experience for you. It may be a little heavy as someone who goes into the woods for the first time and suddenly fights."

"Can you defeat me?

"A warcraft that can be defeated with the sword of Vespe."

Lynn got a little lost but decided to fight.

"Okay. I'll try."

"That's the boy. Fine. I'll cover you.

Lynn felt a little awkward when Illyweer treated her as a boy, but she was still motivated.

I wanted to show her a good place.

The two followed Per Rat's guidance into the depths of the forest bushes.

Lynn and Ilyweer went for a small run to chase the running Pell Rat.

Lynn was following behind Illyweer.

The trees avoid her, so the phosphorus she is chasing can also move forward smoothly.

I chose this formation because it allows me to move quickly, but also because it keeps Lynn's health warm when I plan to fight.

These are all Illyweer's instructions. She has been discretionary and instructive in sorting out situations and purposes and making no or instant decisions.

Lynn dodged that her impression had changed. Until earlier, it was kind of like a princess in a deep window. It was a slight attitude, but the knowledge, physical appearance, and attitude seen from her now were experienced hunters themselves.

Lynn felt the wind grow stronger as she progressed. I also noticed that the stones rolling on the ground were getting bigger and bigger.

"There's a waterfall ahead."

"Right. So the wind is getting stronger."

"That's the thing.... Shh. Please be quiet. Exit to the open place. Let's slow down. Stop running and erase the signs."

Illyweer said to Lynn quietly, but in a harsh tone.

Lynn stopped running and started walking, as Illyweer said.

Illyweer touches Lynn's shoulder.

Just being touched by her made Lynn feel like her presence was diluted.

This is also like her or the power of the Spirit that protects her. Soon Pell Rat will be on her shoulders too.

The two and one took a peek into the open place hidden in the shade of the bush. That's a cut cliff of rock and you can see a waterfall on the other side.

So what they saw was exactly one Pell Rat being hunted down on a cliff by Kimyra, a monstrous figure.
