Tou no Madoushi

Episode 85: The Immaculate Fog

After completing the procedure, the five men, Lynn, Theo, Yuven, Alma and Zaini, climbed to the 90th floor following Luciola's guidance.

When he arrives on the 90th floor, Luciola draws a magic formation in the square.

"Aren't you going to take the elevator?

"Yeah, we'll use dimensional magic from here. Doors in different spaces. Open them."

When Luciola casts a spell, the magic formation turns into a swirl of light.

(This is dimensional magic)

Lynn takes a breath into dimensional magic she's never seen before.

Dimensional magic is magic that connects remote points and points in different spaces.

I had to write the magic formation at the end point beforehand, and it was also a bad magic of the cospa because it takes more magic than the elevator, but it was nevertheless a useful magic in terms of being able to travel instantly at the time of my choice.

"With my magic, the distance you can travel with dimensional magic is limited to 10 floors. The passage is narrow enough for each person to pass by. So I'm moving from the last 90 floors to 100 floors with dimensional magic to near Mr. Ellios' grave. First, I'm going to travel in dimensional magic, so you can follow me later."

With that said, Luciola steps into the swirl of light first.

She was sucked into the vortex by making a humming wind cut noise.

Luciola got to the 100th floor. Or no. He immediately went into preparation to unlock dimensional magic.

(Once Lynn gets here, you can close the dimensional magic. If you can even bring her out to the 100th floor, she can cook and cook later. You can make as many excuses as you want later. And now bring out Theo to feed Lynn)

Luciola waited now or now for Lynn to come out of the Dimensional Magic Exit.

Eventually a dark-haired boy emerges from the swirl of light.

"Whoa. This is 100 floors."

The boy who came out is innocent of seeing 100 hierarchies for the first time.

The first person to come was Alma.

Why are you the first to come?

Luciola desperately enjoyed the fact that her face was about to catch on.

"Mr. Luciola? Are you all right? My shoulders are shaking."

"What? It's okay, right? Nothing."

(Fair enough. The next thing you know, Lynn shows up, then you can block the dimensional magic hole. If it's about two college demon instructors, I don't care if it's on my strength...)

While Luciola thinks about it, the vortex shines again and the next person appears.

"Phew. Thank you for waiting."

Lynn emerged from the Dimensional Magic Vortex.

"Okay, now we're all set."

Theo said.

"Be careful. This isn't college anymore. It's no wonder you're attacked by other magicians."

Said Zaini as he made sure to be vigilant around him.

"It's kind of dark and giddy."

Says Yuven with his face up.

"Come on, let's go."

Alma takes the lead and walks out.

(Lynn. Holy shit. Why are you the last one to come out? Whoa, whoa)

Luciola was in the mood to step on the estate.

In the end, Lynn comes out the last time, so we get the whole party together.

"Thank you for waiting. Mr. Luciola. May I then direct you to Mr. Ellios' grave?

"Yeah, sure."

Luciola had to be careful not to let her voice tremble.

(It's a maneuver change. It's just dangerous to deal with five people. We need to get Lynn and the rest of them apart somehow)

Where Lin and the others left off, it was a very dark space.

There's a whole wide cavity going straight on, and on the side walls there's another wide hole in this and countless branches of road.

It was like a nest of ants.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Have you acquired the Labyrinth Attack Magic class?

"I'm still in the middle of a course."

"Me too."

"Neither have I."

"I'm taking it."

Zaini was the only one getting a labyrinth offensive magic class.

"Fine. Then I'll explain it from scratch. This is already in the labyrinth, so you will proceed using labyrinth offensive magic. It's a map. Come on."

When Luciola casts a spell, a map appears on hand.

"It's not that hard to say labyrinth offensive magic. The point is just to make your map remember the way. You guys can get a map, right?"

When Luciola calls it that way, the Lynns call the magical map with a spell as well.

"Fine. Keep walking with the map and that will automatically carve the road on the map. I'm supposed to have to find the right path to my destination while hitting the end of the tunnel, but this time I know the way, so let me show you."

"What. In short, you don't just have to follow the determined path. You just have to keep up with the people you know. I was wondering what kind of hard stuff awaits me. It's no big deal."

"It's forbidden to be alarmed. The labyrinth on a hundred levels is vast, and..."

Lynn suddenly felt her gaze from behind and looked back.

The others seem to have noticed that tension runs on everyone.

There was a side road with a big hole there.

Someone seems to be looking at this one, but it's dark and invisible in the back.

"Plus there's obstruction from other magicians. Sometimes you can attack, or if you are a magician using advanced labyrinth magic, you can modify the labyrinth itself to trap other magicians. It's okay. He's looking at this one, but no hostility. You're just wary of us."

Indeed, Luciola is right, Lynn's equipped ring has not emitted a light that informs her of the danger.

"Nevertheless, if you show weakness, it doesn't necessarily mean you won't come under attack. No long stays allowed. Let's go."

The line proceeds illuminating the light of the ring.

"That's odd. I can't feel any signs of magic from around here."

Zaini told me to be suspicious.

"If you ask me. There's no fairy at all."

Theo said.

"Hey, haven't you gotten some weird fog from earlier?

Yuven said.

"This is an immortal fog. This is a magical windless zone where no fairy can live."

Luciola answered.

"Fairies can't live?

"Yes. When the fairy is exposed to this fog, that's all it kills. So here the Wizard cannot use any fairy magic. Students who have just graduated from college can't even use the elevator from here and must reach 110 levels of downtown by stairs only"

"I see. When fairy magic becomes unusable, the magician cannot start fire or collect water. That's a tough section for a magician who's used to Alfrid's life."

Said Zaini.

"No decent living section exists between here and the 110th floor. Mr. Ellios ran out of money on the 110th floor and went down this section once he tried to get back to Alfrid. I heard about it. The bad guys hunting rookies are after me..."

Luciola said.

"Right. I guess they have to move on with vigilance, too. When it comes to not being able to procure water or food and being cautious and walking long distances..., this is tough indeed"

Theo said.

(Mr. Ellios was cornered here. Must have been hard)

Lynn now turned her thoughts around on the death of the late Ellios.

"Wow."

Alma screamed.

I'm blue looking at my feet.

"What's up?"

"Look, my bones..."

There was a skeleton at the end where Alma's ring illuminated.

"No way, man?

"That's possible. Be careful. There are numerous carcasses of hunted down and decaying magicians rolling around here. If you step in the middle of nowhere, they'll take your legs off."

When Luciola says so, they are all equally engulfed in painful silence.

"Lord Luciola. How long until Ellios is buried?

Zaini asked.

"It's still gonna take a little longer."

"Then why don't you take turns glowing the ring to save magic"

"Ha...... But if you do, it'll be darker than it is now."

"But there has to be no magic when it comes to being raided. Wouldn't it be better to keep it as warm as possible?"

"I see, right. Perhaps that's a good idea."

Luciola said regrettably.

"Well, let's start with me."

Alma makes a name for herself and shines a ring.

The six went some darker roads than earlier.

Shine the ring every 30 minutes.

"Theo, it's time for a change."

Said Zaini as he looked at the clock.

"Ooh. Yuven. You're next."

Theo loosens the light of the ring.

The order in which the rings were to shine was the turn of Yuven at the end of the tour.

"No."

"What?"

"'Cause I'm tired."

"You. Be cooperative at a time like this."

"Theo. Fine. I'll take your place."

Said Zaini, controlling Theo.

Seemed to want to avoid rubbing.

Glow the ring.

"Oops, looks like we've reached the stairs."

When Zaini illuminates the front, the stairs appear.

Let's climb.

Theo continued to complain to Yuven after Zaini stopped him.

"You. Come on. Don't you have that attitude about working with the guild for a bit or trying not to bother others?

"Theo. Don't you notice?

"Huh? To what?

Yuven shows Luciola with his gaze.

"Huh. Really? Don't you notice? Well, maybe that's what it is."

When we walked up the stairs and walked a little again, the six decided to eat.

Lynn removes the magic hat and removes the utensils for eating in the pot and chair and camp from inside.

There was a vast space in the magic hat that you couldn't tell just from the outside, and the magic conductor was able to pack a lot of things and tools into it.

"Phosphorus, when you can't use fire and water, you can't use pot."

Alma said.

"Oh, well."

"You can't cook meat."

Zaini said unfortunately.

"I should have brought the fuel and the fire-fighting tools. Bread, biscuits, raw vegetables and fruit."

said Alma as she tongued.

"Prepare a meal for me. I'll tie the line around you. Please rest, Yuven and Lord Luciola. This is an honor for us to work for women."

Zaini said ahead to avoid Theo and Yuven colliding.

Lynn is horrified to see that.

Lynn was always saved by these meticulous considerations of Zaini.

Theo takes a glimpse of Luciola and Yuven as he helps Zaini do his job.

Next to Luciola's seeming sorry, Yuven rests in a steady manner, but on the other hand stares at Luciola to monitor him without alarm.

"Hey. Mr. Luciola. What floor is Ellios's graveyard on? I'm getting tired of walking."

It's 107th floor.

"How did you bury him in such a halfway place? I wish I'd been buried downtown anyway."

"The Wizard could not be buried on the upper floor than where he died. He could not be buried on the 110th floor of Mayere."

"Then you shouldn't have been buried in Alfredo."

"Yeah, I thought about that, too. I didn't know Alfrid, and most importantly, because most magicians don't like to be buried somewhere lower than their hierarchy..."

(That's weird)

Theo tilted his neck.

Yuven told me. Theo is starting to wonder about Luciola, too.

(Sure, Yuven's right. Something's wrong with Luciola's behavior)

Theo thinks as he joins the line.

(Luciola's dimensional magic allows you to move the height of the tenth floor, right? If Ellios's grave was on the 107th floor, why don't we just leave the end of dimensional magic somewhere closer? Like going to the 97th floor in Alfredo and then traveling to the 107th floor)

Sometimes Theo had seen a magician purposefully move to a high point in the building after going to the 90 tier before activating dimensional magic.

(And if you know there's a point where magic drains like this, you should have been more prepared in advance. You know enough to know that if you have a demon stone that can replenish incendiary, drinking water, or magic that will light up, you can avoid wasteful depletion, right? Didn't you get that far? You're just a little bit of a dick?

Theo steals her expression so Luciola doesn't notice.

(If this is what Luciola is after, what's the purpose... To drain our magic? No, you weren't even going to get to Ellios' grave in the first place? Why?)

"What's wrong with you?

Zaini called out to care for Theo.

"No. Nothing"

"If you seem tired, you can rest. I'll do it here."

"I'm fine. I'm fine. But you do. Maybe we should take plenty of breaks here. I don't know what lies ahead."
