Episode 95: The New Master
Lynn waited nervously for the person she was going to visit in the exercise area she rented for the Magic Guide competition.
A new master was due soon.
Hiring a new master was a suggestion from Theo.
"A new master?
Lynn listened straight back to what Theo had just said.
"Oh. No more. Let's hire our own masters. It doesn't even help my current master or shit."
Theo said abominably.
Unlike Yuin, his master still left Theo alone.
"Not to mention if you're going to wear magic for the Magic Guide competition, I think you need an extra professional guy more familiar with combat than your current master."
"I see."
"We have plenty of time. Unlike the noblemen. So we need to keep our choices and focus tight and use our limited time effectively."
"But I wonder if it's okay. I hired a new master on my own, even though I have one now."
"You're not those guys masters. It's just some old traffickers. Besides, I don't think you're forbidden to take a master twice. Some of the noblemen are hands-on from more than one master."
"Really?"
Lynn now wondered how she thought.
I see. Speaking of which, you didn't have the idea of having more than two masters. Why did you think you shouldn't have two masters?
"We can hire them on our salaries, and they are profoundly involved in the Demon Guidance competition and the battle between the Demon Guides. And if possible, he has experience in engaging with Spyrna's magicians, and he also guesses what's going on around us that's no match for fighting in the right way. Hire a guy like that."
The two searched through the association for a master.
Sometimes the magic guide competition was close, all the more powerful magicians misbooked, and finding a master was difficult to navigate.
But I could barely hire a magician named Emil, who belongs to the 200 hierarchy.
And now Lynn is waiting for her new master to come.
Theo had already met and been hands-on.
Eventually it will be time and Emil will come.
Emil was a Rin woman with long dark hair tied up behind her back.
He is wearing a purple robe, with a glove on his hand and no ring fitted.
The eyes are sharp and moving fast.
She came into the room early with a cutlet and shoe noise.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Emil the Magic Master. I'm a mercenary on 200 levels."
(Mercenaries…)
Lynn took her seriously.
It certainly made me think of that of those familiar with the battlefield from what she had done without waste.
It's as if war is part of your life.
"Hi."
"You're Lynn. Theo tells me some things. Shall we start the interview soon, then? Fairy, give me Lynn's papers."
When Emil casts a spell, a flame of blue flames subsides blinking paper in her hand for a moment.
"I showed you your transcripts. You're taking substance generating magic. No other military classes. The good things about basic magic are that Theo has metallurgical magic, and Lynn has light magic."
"Is it difficult, after all, to compete in magic? Light magic can't be used against demon leaders."
"That's not true. Depends on how you use it. At the very least, if we can use material-generating and accelerating magic, we can somehow fight in the main competition 'Cane Drop', and light magic becomes a weapon depending on operations. Although of course we need to make it a level that we can use in action."
"Ha."
"Whatever it is, you need to see your power first. Let's get started. In the meantime, let's activate the substance generation magic and the acceleration magic."
Lynn tries to activate the magic as she was told.
Generate iron spheres, strike them out and target them.
"Go on."
Emil said.
Lynn repeats the same thing as she was told.
At first it was Emil, who watched with no expression, but gradually became a sinister face.
Lynn also noticed Emil's face getting steeper.
"Um, what do you think"
"... slow"
"Huh?"
"It's late anyway. Walking is slow first. It's too late to move your hands, and it's too late to cast a spell."
"Ha..."
"Theo was tedious, and you seem to have had a bit of a hard time, though he was pretty good at it."
Lynn is seated on the floor to be heard Emil's lecture.
"All right? It's no exaggeration to say that the first moves are everything. In an instant, it becomes a division of the battle to identify the opponent's gear, characteristics, powers, and weaknesses and how quickly the magic can be carried out. To do this, don't think with your head before activating the procedure. If your hands, feet, or mouth don't move before you think with your head, it's very, very unlikely, but you won't win."
"Yes."
Lynn listens honestly to her master with a discipleship and a strange face.
"It's not just the Wizard. The guy who moves his hands and feet slowly, he can't do anything after all. You act less naturally than people, and your head spins slowly because your body moves slowly and your blood circles worse. No matter how smart or talented you are. No use. No use. So did my boyfriend before me. You're smart, but you're a dickhead to do anything... Yeah, I'm getting frustrated when I remember."
"Previous boyfriend? So you don't have a boyfriend now, Master?
Lynn suddenly asks with a crisp face.
"You don't care where it is - though! Why are you checking so fast if you're just doing that?"
After preaching for a moment, Emil coached Lynn on some tricks to activate magic fast.
Tips for casting spells faster, how to swing and erect a wand to activate faster, how to work out magic, how to store light in a ring, how to arouse it.
and training methods to improve them.
Today's meeting time was over after I finished teaching the whole thing.
Emil challenges Lynn to do the training.
"Anyway, I don't feel like teaching you right now. Next thing you know, it's gonna be a week, but by then, just do what I said right now so you can act fast. I'm sorry if there hasn't been any progress in the next time I come, but I'll let you turn down this job. I'm not willing to teach students no matter how much they get paid. Bye."
Saying so, the master walks away as early as he did when he arrived.
"Theo. What do you think of Mr. Emil?
"What do you say?
Lynn and Theo had remained in the exercise area to work on the assignments each had been given by their master.
Phosphorus enables quick activation of light magic, substance generating magic, and acceleration magic.
Theo can make the iron spheres produced harder or softer with metallurgical magic.
"Is he a good master?
"I don't think it's a bad idea. Sounds great, but I'd better point it out."
"That's right. I didn't care until they told me how fast the magic was going."
"Well, I haven't really mastered magic before thinking about combat. I was just thinking about taking credit for classes. I knew you couldn't just do classes. We still need to hire the necessary masters for the phase."
"Yeah."
Lynn releases the sword of light towards the target.
"The Sword of Ridges" stabs at the target.
Lynn was able to activate instantly if it was about "The Sword of Ryges".
"Let's just keep going. I have to do my job for it."
The next week, Lynn shows the results of her training in front of Emil.
"Then if I slap my hand, let me activate the magic. Yes."
Emil slaps his hand.
At the same time, Lynn activates magic.
It shows in order of light magic, substance generating magic, and acceleration magic.
Regardless of its power and accuracy, the time lag to activation was considerably less.
After all the phosphorus is activated, I look at Emil as if I were to ask him.
Emil looked at Lynn as she put her arms together.
The expression was faceless but not as rude as last time.
"That's a lot better. Oh, that's good. Pass."
Lynn hears it and howls her chest down.
"The rest is to improve accuracy and power. And you need to tap into your body the way you fight. I don't have time for the tournament. I'm going to do some penetration work."
(Though. To the aristocratic opponent. This has too few handbills. You need to learn some new magic.)
The rigorous training of Lynn and Theo began that day.
Bottom up the force, how to fight while accelerating, how to deal with it in proximity, building tactics and style.
Slap these into your head and slap them into your body with repetitive practice.
Emil coached Lynn and Theo rigorously and carefully.
I pointed out any details if necessary, and if I could see any loosening at all, sometimes make me yell and squeeze my mind.
(After all, it's completely different from college classes. College doesn't teach so much detail to one student)
Lynn and Theo also tend to take time off from class to immerse themselves in the practice of the competition.
Because the two of them stopped showing their faces to the college too much, partly to the point where rumors spread that they might have given up graduation and gone home.
Yuven, suspicious, caught Alma and heard him out.
"Hey, hey"
"Hmm? You're Yuven. What the hell."
"You sure, er..."
"It's Alma. Don't you dare. Remember my name."
"Yes, yes. That was definitely the name. That's right, you two, Lynn and Theo, what's wrong, though I haven't seen it lately? You sure worked for those two companies, didn't you? You know something?
"Oh, they're specializing in the magic game."
"The Magic Games?
"Yes, I suddenly did it for real. I can't believe I'm competing in a magic tournament with all the nobles in the military class."
Alma said not to be blatant.
"I don't even look at the company much anymore. Even though Zaini's gone and he's just busy...... Yuven?
Alma noticed that Yuven had not listened to herself from the way in and was relaxed to think about it.
"... that idiot"
Yuven goes when he squeals that much.
"What the hell?"
Alma just couldn't swallow things and missed Yuven walking away with a pocan face.
