Chapter 221: The Most Expensive Publicity Stunt, Bar None
Although some people still said Melody Monroe wrapping up her scenes was just a publicity stunt.
But if it was, it was the most expensive publicity stunt in history—bar none!
Melody Monroe remained a trending topic for three whole days.
During this time, all sorts of news about her was constantly being exposed.
Candid videos from her daily life, along with some behind-the-scenes footage from her shoots, presented a stark contrast to her previous image!
As these stories flew around, a donation receipt from a charity gala appeared online.
At a charity gala a few months prior, Melody Monroe had personally donated three million!
And yet, she was nowhere to be found in the group photos of the celebrities from that night.
Later, everyone learned that she hadn’t even made it onto the red carpet, let alone into the event, because her gown had been damaged.
In an instant, Melody Monroe was slapped with all sorts of labels: straightforward, low-key, talented actress, a true goddess, hate magnet, adorable girl, fitness dynamo, dieting whiz...
...
Tommy arrived at his meeting with Melody Monroe, carrying thick stacks of documents.
He had deliberately placed a certain power of attorney form at the very bottom of the pile.
As long as "Mrs. Fairchild" signed it, he could go and process the property transfer that afternoon.
"Mrs. Fairchild, I have some documents here that need your signature. I’ve also scheduled meetings with a few interior design firms. We can head over to their offices to talk things over afterward."
"More documents for me to sign?" Melody Monroe was a little surprised. ’This has nothing to do with me, does it? Why do I need to sign anything?’
"Yes. After all, President Fairchild isn’t here. With your signature, it’ll be easier for me to handle things."
"What kind of documents are they?"
"Oh, just some unimportant papers, authorization forms, that sort of thing." Tommy’s heart pounded, terrified she would find out.
President Fairchild had given him explicit instructions to get this done.
’If Mrs. Fairchild discovers her name is on the property deed and refuses to accept it, I’m screwed!’
Melody Monroe looked at the documents on top, examining them carefully.
It was information on the house’s floor plan and the seller’s details.
Beads of sweat broke out on Tommy’s forehead. ’It looks like she isn’t going to sign blindly. What do I do?’
"Where do I sign?" Melody Monroe asked, seeing nothing out of the ordinary.
"Here, and here. There are two copies, and both need your signature." Tommy quickly handed her the pen.
Melody Monroe signed her name, and Tommy swiftly gathered up the documents.
"Mrs. Fairchild, I’ll also need to trouble you for your ID."
"You need my ID?" Melody Monroe was still a bit puzzled. ’Evan Fairchild is buying a house, so why does he need my ID?’
"Because you’re President Fairchild’s principal agent. I’m just the errand boy," Tommy fibbed. ’I’ll explain once the deed is in hand. For now, any excuse will do!’
"Oh, I see." Melody Monroe took out her ID.
"I’ll have it back to you by tomorrow. Shall we head to the design firm now?"
"Okay." Melody Monroe nodded.
She had wrapped her scenes but hadn’t returned to Rockwellburg yet precisely because she was busy with this matter.
Once the design firm was chosen, she could return to Rockwellburg and discuss the finer details with Evan Fairchild then.
...
Early the next morning, Winter Kane went to handle the checkout procedures.
Talia Mercer and Melody Monroe were in their room, packing their luggage.
For her subsequent scenes, she had to wait for news from Director Wallace. He had mentioned that filming wouldn’t be at the film studio and that he would inform her of the specific location later.
Her endorsement for Bloomwell didn’t require an immediate photoshoot either, so she had some downtime in her schedule.
The design firm had also been selected, and with Tommy following up on the rest, she didn’t have to worry about it anymore.
She could finally go home and spend some quality time with Ian.
