Chapter 118: This Is Insane
Even if they really did it, calling the police wouldn’t do much.
It hardly constituted a prosecutable offense.
The two extras stood there, completely baffled, with no idea what they were about to face.
Less than ten minutes later, two uniformed officers walked over.
The moment they were spotted, a wave of quiet discussion rippled through the crowd.
"They really called the cops! Who did it? Was it Zane Langdon?"
"Probably, right?"
"What on earth did those two do?"
The two officers walked into the crowd. "Excuse me, who filed the report?"
"I did." Sean Coleman stepped forward and explained, "A month ago, Mr. Zane Langdon was attending a business event and staying at The Wellspring Resort & Spa in Wellspring. A hotel employee used her position to sneak into Mr. Langdon’s room while he was out attending the event. Her actions constitute a serious violation of Mr. Langdon’s personal privacy!"
The moment Sean Coleman finished speaking, all the color drained from one of the extra’s faces.
The onlookers were also stunned.
’That’s insane! Who could possibly put up with something like that?’
"This is the footage from the hotel’s security cameras. We didn’t publicize this matter because it involves Mr. Langdon’s reputation, and more importantly, we were afraid of damaging the relationship between him and his fans. However, now that this person has reappeared by Mr. Langdon’s side with impure motives, we can no longer remain silent. We must say no to fans who engage in extreme behavior and break the law! And we will use the law to defend our rights."
"Zane Langdon, I just went in to perform my normal duties that day. That’s my job. I didn’t do anything out of line, and I didn’t bother you. I love you so much! I’ve been following you since before you were even famous. What did I do wrong? How could you call the police on me!"
"This is your personal social media account, isn’t it? Not only did you sneak into Mr. Langdon’s room, but you also took photos of his private belongings and posted them online." Sean Coleman took out his phone and pulled up the pictures.
"My account doesn’t even have any followers! I just kept them for myself to look at. I can delete them right now."
As soon as she finished speaking, even the police couldn’t help but shake their heads.
"Please come with us for questioning."
"I didn’t even do anything! Why are you arresting me?"
"Which specific laws and regulations your actions have violated still requires further confirmation. However, the facts of your offense have been established, and we have the right to take you into custody."
"Zane Langdon! I must have been blind to love you for so many years!" The girl clearly couldn’t handle the consequences.
Faced with her accusation, a trace of bitterness appeared in Zane Langdon’s eyes.
After the girl was taken away, no one in the surrounding crowd dared to make a sound.
Everyone knew this incident was going to cause a massive uproar online. They had no idea what kind of impact it would have on Zane Langdon.
"Get back to work! What are you all doing standing around here?" Director Wallace’s voice suddenly cut in. The crowd immediately dispersed.
Melody Monroe looked at Zane Langdon and began to speak slowly, "Mr. Langdon, about what just happened..."
"You also think my status today is all thanks to my fans, don’t you? That since they put me on a pedestal, they can also shatter me to pieces?"
"No, that’s not it." Melody Monroe immediately shook her head. "What I wanted to say was, thank you for what you did just now."
A hint of a smile slowly bloomed in Zane Langdon’s eyes. "Give me your phone."
Melody Monroe took out her phone and handed it to Zane Langdon.
