Melody Monroe walked over and sat down across from Rose Shaw.

"Lately, I haven’t picked out a suitable new project for you. I’m mainly worried about choosing the wrong one. I think we should wait for Warm Wind to premiere and see how the market reacts. What do you think of that plan?" Rose Shaw laid out the plan directly.

Melody looked at Rose, surprised that she was still arranging her work according to the original plan.

"Rose, that diamond necklace..."

"Was it from Evan Fairchild?"

Melody nodded. She didn’t want to hide it from Rose; she knew Rose was a person of integrity and completely trustworthy.

"Rose, he’s Ian’s father."

A flicker of shock crossed Rose’s eyes. "Are you sure?"

"Mm." Melody nodded.

Rose felt a warmth spread through her chest. Melody hadn’t hidden such a huge secret from her, choosing instead to be completely honest.

"So, what are your plans now? Are you going to terminate your contract with Stellaris? If you are, you should do it soon, before you get famous and things get more complicated."

Rose was truly thinking of what was best for Melody.

"No, Rose, I have no intention of terminating my contract." Melody immediately shook her head. "My relationship with Evan Fairchild isn’t what you think. He’s Ian’s father, and our relationship ends there."

’Ends there?’ Rose thought of her own past.

She had once said those same words.

"I don’t dare to have any designs on Evan Fairchild. I’m not worthy. I’d rather not end up completely shattered. It’s better to keep things as they are now."

’Evan Fairchild probably just needs me for physical reasons. Maybe one day he’ll get tired of me.’

The kind of person who could actually be his lawful wife would have to come from a background like Lana Sheffield’s.

’And I... I’m not good enough.’

"It’s good that you have a clear head about this," Rose nodded.

After all, when it came to a powerful family like the Fairchilds, it was wise of Melody not to harbor any illusions.

"If you ever decide you want to leave, just let me know ahead of time. Melody, no one knows what tomorrow will bring. I’ll always respect your decision and support you, no matter what."

Melody paused for a second, then smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Rose."

Rose raised her hand and patted Melody on the shoulder.

’If Melody were really her sister, she’d be the closest family she had in the entire world.’

’She hoped Melody wouldn’t end up like her—that she could have a happy and fulfilling life.’

"Do you know Keith Coleman?" Rose asked suddenly.

"Keith Coleman?" Melody thought for a moment. ’I don’t think I’ve heard that name.’ "What does he do?"

"His English name is Kaen."

"Oh, now I remember. He’s one of my fans. He started a fan club for me. I completely forgot to tell you."

"I’ve already contacted him and asked him to manage the official fan club, and he agreed."

"Great," Melody nodded.

Rose realized that Melody didn’t seem to really know this Keith Coleman.

’If Keith Coleman really was sent by Evan Fairchild, then Evan was being very respectful of Melody. After all, she was still under contract with Stellaris.’

’She’d go meet this Keith Coleman on Wednesday.’

"I’ll have your schedule ready and send it to you on Monday. We haven’t signed on for a new drama, but a lot of endorsement deals and show invitations have come in, so be prepared."

"Okay."

Rose grabbed her car keys and asked Melody, "Where are you headed? I can give you a ride. It’s hard to hail a cab from the office."

"I’ll just ride with you for a bit. You can drop me off somewhere it’s easier to get a cab."
