Chapter 361 - 360: What Do You Want to Do?
Keith Coleman: ...
"Melody, why do you have such a high opinion of Felix Hughes?"
"Doesn’t every woman want a dependable husband like that? Someone you can take out and who will come back home. So low-maintenance."
"What about President Fairchild, then? Is he not low-maintenance?"
Melody Monroe was speechless for a moment. "There’s no comparison."
"If you had to pick one to marry, would you choose President Fairchild or that Felix... whatever-his-name-is?"
"I’d choose someone dependable like Felix Hughes. He’s a safe choice."
Keith Coleman instantly felt a sense of balance. So it wasn’t just him who’d lost out to Felix Hughes; even someone like President Fairchild couldn’t win against him.
He wondered what President Fairchild would think if he heard this.
Suddenly, he was very curious to find out.
"Keith Coleman, you can fool around with other women, but not Rose! If you’re not planning to love only her for the rest of your life and cherish her completely, then stay far away from her! This is my final warning to you!"
"What if I..."
"I’ll tell Mr. Fairchild you were hitting on me! Go on, try me!"
"Yes, ma’am!" Keith Coleman immediately backed down. ’That’s a low blow!’
Watching Keith’s reaction, Melody Monroe thought to herself, ’Mr. Fairchild is quite effective.’
Keith Coleman, however, was asking himself a question.
What kind of affection did he really have for Rose Shaw?
Was it just like with other women?
No! He felt that Rose Shaw was different from all the other women he’d ever been with.
But forever... he’d never really thought about that.
"I have something else to tell you." Melody Monroe’s expression suddenly turned serious.
"What is it?"
"Did you know I was injured once during the filming of *Warm Wind*?"
"I know." Keith Coleman nodded.
He had rushed back from abroad after getting a call from Fairchild, taking on this new job without even getting over his jet lag. Of course, he had thoroughly investigated his new boss’s background.
"That injury wasn’t an accident. Someone did it on purpose."
"What?!" Keith Coleman’s voice rose several pitches.
"I know who it was, but I don’t have any proof."
"Why do you even need proof for something like this?!"
"Of course you do. Just like with the Raymond Ford incident—without evidence, the culprit gets to walk free, while the victim might never escape that shadow for the rest of their life. I was luckier than that girl, Claire Ross."
"The culprit was Raymond Ford?"
"No, it was Rhona Hughes. Rhona and I were on a talent show together before. I was the champion, and she was the runner-up. We have some history."
"That woman is ruthless! To try and kill someone over a few minor grudges! An injury that serious could have easily been fatal!"
"Rhona Hughes and Raymond Ford are trying to curry favor with Lana Sheffield, and they already see me as a thorn in their side. What I’m most worried about is that if it happened once, it’ll happen again."
Keith Coleman nodded. That was a given.
"Why didn’t you tell me sooner?"
Melody Monroe didn’t say anything.
"It’s okay. Now that I know, I’ll make sure they never get another chance to cause trouble!"
"I hope you won’t let Mr. Fairchild know about this. With your help, I can handle it."
"What do you want to do?"
"The person who directly injured me was the brother of Rhona Hughes’s assistant, Wendy. He left the film set right after I was hurt and hasn’t been heard from since. First, find out where he is now, and then we’ll figure out our next move."
"I’ll get right on it! I’ll let you know as soon as I find him."
"Okay!" Melody Monroe nodded.
After Keith Coleman left, he thought it over and over, but still felt that he couldn’t keep this from President Fairchild.
