Chapter 367 - 366: All for the Wife
"You’re all here pitying her, but you have no idea how much better off she is than you!"
"Everyone’s background is different. Melody Monroe was abandoned by her parents at birth—that’s her fate. Don’t come here peddling sob stories for sympathy. It’s not like you haven’t seen her when she’s being aggressive. Hasn’t the video of her hitting Eileen Scott been exposed?"
"So, Melody Monroe is someone who was born but never raised. During the talent show, she was ruthless in her pursuit of the championship! Now she’s just latched onto a rich sponsor, and you people are still here, treating her like a goddess. You’re all morons!"
"To the person who called us morons, that comment went too far! What do you mean, ’born but never raised’? You may have been born and raised by your mother, but I can smell the stench of scum on you even through the screen! Your mom clearly didn’t do a very good job."
"I just like Melody Monroe! And now I feel like things have been even harder for her."
"My goddess is an orphan! Oh my god, her background is so pitiful."
"Melody Monroe has never said any of this on any occasion, nor has she ever spoken about her background."
"She’s so beautiful, how could her parents bear to abandon her? She’s someone who should have been cherished and doted on!"
"Gods! Send down a bolt of lightning and strike down these trolls and haters!"
It was a rare day for Eileen Scott; she wasn’t actively trying to get in front of the camera.
This was what Wayne Payne had taught her, and he’d insisted she obey. If Eileen Scott acted on her own impulses in everything, he was afraid the public persona they had just carefully constructed would crumble again.
She had nothing else to do, so she scrolled through her phone. Though she hated Melody Monroe so much her teeth itched, she couldn’t help but click on Melody’s livestream.
Melody Monroe had actually offered an explanation. However, she only clarified that she hadn’t been trying to create a "genius student" persona and didn’t say much else.
As for the slapping incident, she didn’t mention it at all!
’I will absolutely not take those two slaps for nothing! When I find the chance, I will pay Melody Monroe back double.’

In a high-end hot spring resort in Somberfell City, the most expensive villa suite had been booked out—and for a whole month!
Keith Coleman finished the check-in procedures and walked up to the door of the most luxurious villa, knocking gently.
"Come in."
Keith Coleman pushed the door open and walked in to see Evan Fairchild standing at the window, looking at the scenery outside.
"President Fairchild, would you like to rest for a bit? You’ve been traveling all night, you should get some sleep." Keith Coleman truly hadn’t expected President Fairchild to rush here overnight!
’He used to think President Fairchild was the kind of person who would give up everything for work.’
’Now, it seemed President Fairchild was the kind of person who would give up work for his wife.’
"I checked with the show’s crew earlier. The missus has some tasks to complete in Somberfell City, so I booked a room here. Besides, according to the crew’s schedule, there’s an activity in Somberfell City today."
Evan Fairchild remained silent. It was as if Keith Coleman was talking to himself.
’Last time, I really messed things up. Even though President Fairchild didn’t hold it against me, I still feel unnerved.’
’Booking the room here was my own decision. I was just trying to make up for it.’
’President Fairchild is the type to hold a grudge and loves to settle scores later. That’s exactly what I’m afraid of—the delayed reckoning. I feel like my skin is stretched taut all the time.’
But he had been talking for so long, and President Fairchild hadn’t reacted at all.
This made him even more anxious.
"Why are you still here?"
Keith Coleman: ...
