Chapter 278: Melody Monroe, How Dare You Hit Me
She stood up and walked outside.
Just outside stood several familiar figures.
"Well, well! Isn’t this Rose?" Wayne Payne’s voice rose a few notches, sounding impossibly enthusiastic.
"Rose, what are you doing here? What a coincidence!" Raymond Ford chimed in.
Rose Shaw looked at their disgusting faces, her own expression cold as she remained silent.
When President Lewis saw Rose Shaw, a flicker of embarrassment crossed his eyes. In the past, he would have shown Rose Shaw some courtesy. Now, things were different.
"Rose, you didn’t come to ask President Lewis for a sponsorship, did you? Haven’t you heard? I’m here today to sign a contract with him. I’m the new product spokesperson. I’m afraid you’ve made this trip for nothing," Raymond Ford said smugly.
"Since President Lewis isn’t available, I’ll take my leave," Rose Shaw said, then turned to walk out.
Raymond Ford wasn’t about to let Rose Shaw get away that easily and immediately chased after her.
"President Lewis, let’s talk again when you’re free. I’ll take care of the rest, don’t you worry!" Wayne Payne said before chasing after them as well.
Rose Shaw had already reached the first floor. Before she could walk outside, she heard a voice call out from behind her.
"Rose Shaw! Stop!"
Rose Shaw secretly clenched her fists, then turned to face Raymond Ford. "If there’s nothing important, I’m in a hurry. I don’t have time for this."
Raymond Ford immediately blocked Rose Shaw’s path. "Rose Shaw, look at you now! You must regret it, right? Dumping me for Melody Monroe. That was a miscalculation, wasn’t it?"
"I’ve never regretted it. You’re overthinking things."
"Overthinking? You’re just being stubborn. Look at yourself. Melody Monroe’s career is dead, and you’re next. How much longer do you think you can last at the company?"
"Raymond Ford, I can say with a clear conscience that I treated you well."
"Treated me well? How dare you say that! You backed me into a corner!" Raymond Ford remembered the hardest time in her life, when she was desperate because Rose Shaw refused to get her any endorsements.
To pay off her loans, she had even resorted to sleeping with people!
She blamed Rose Shaw and Melody Monroe for all of this hatred. How could she possibly let it go?
"Raymond Ford, you’re ridiculous!" Rose Shaw no longer wanted to argue with her.
’This ungrateful, heartless creature doesn’t even deserve to be called human!’
Raymond Ford raised her hand and swung at Rose Shaw!
Although Rose Shaw raised a hand to block it, the slap still landed on her.
Her constitution had been especially poor lately, so she hadn’t managed to dodge it.
Melody Monroe arrived just in time to see this scene.
"Rose!" Talia Mercer cried out in alarm and rushed over to support Rose Shaw.
Melody Monroe walked straight up to Raymond Ford and, without a word, slapped her across the face!
Raymond Ford was stunned by the slap. "Melody Monroe, you!"
Before she could finish her sentence, Melody Monroe slapped her again.
"You actually dare to hit me!"
Melody Monroe raised her hand and delivered another slap!
"Stop! Melody Monroe, what are you doing!" Wayne Payne rushed over, but before he could reach Melody Monroe, Winter Kane blocked his path.
His aggressive momentum faltered. At just over one-point-six meters tall, with his portly build, he knew he stood no chance against Winter Kane.
Raymond Ford’s face burned, stinging from the three slaps. Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
Melody Monroe turned to Rose Shaw and asked with concern, "Rose, are you okay?"
"I’m fine." Rose Shaw shook her head.
Melody Monroe glanced back at Raymond Ford. Having just been slapped, Raymond Ford was a little intimidated and didn’t dare to confront Melody Monroe head-on.
She had never seen Melody Monroe act so aggressively before.
