Chapter 503: I’m Holding My Legal Wife
Evan Fairchild glanced down at the woman in his arms and immediately put down his book.
"Ian Monroe, I’m reading to you, and you’re giving me that disgusted look? You dare accuse me of abuse? See? Your mother enjoys it so much, she’s already fallen asleep."
"Your reading sounds like a monk chanting. It’s hypnotic. It’d be a miracle if Mom *didn’t* fall asleep," Ian Monroe retorted.
Evan Fairchild was speechless, his breathing hitching.
"Mom’s asleep now. Can you put her down?"
"I’m holding my legal wife! My wife! When you grow up, you’ll find a wife of your own and start a new family. Your mother and I are a family. You’re not."
Ian Monroe: ...
Seeing Ian Monroe’s fuming expression, Evan Fairchild felt he had finally won a round.
’I wonder what other people’s kids are like. Are they all like Ian Monroe? This one of ours isn’t cute at all. He’s actually kind of annoying!’
’When I was a kid...’ Evan Fairchild thought of the crowds that used to swarm around him, annoying him to no end. ’I must have been an absolutely adorable child.’

Filming for Aya Winters’s new drama had wrapped, and it was now in post-production.
It was expected to get a release slot at the end of November. The Golden Orchid Awards were held every year on December 30th.
The newcomer she managed, Mia Sutton, had recently come into the spotlight thanks to a campus drama.
Mia Sutton also played a very likable role in Aya Winters’s new drama.
If the drama was released early enough, it could still make the deadline for award submissions. Even if she couldn’t be nominated for this new role, her performance would at least score her some extra points with the judges.
Aya Winters had even altered the script to give Mia Sutton more screen time, all to make her a worthy contender against Melody Monroe.
Recently, Aya Winters had been pouring money into promoting Mia Sutton to launch her into stardom. Mia had also been appearing on many variety shows lately, always as a special guest.
Her fanbase was growing nonstop. In just one month, she gained over thirty million new followers, and when added to her existing fans, her total count had already surpassed Melody Monroe’s.
When Keith Coleman saw these numbers, he just shook his head, speechless. ’Aren’t they afraid of this blowing up in their faces?’
The media didn’t dare to report any news about Melody Monroe. Now that they had finally found a celebrity who could generate traffic, everyone was aiming their focus at Mia Sutton.
Mia Sutton had a sweet type of beauty, unlike Melody Monroe, whose looks were so overpowering that anyone standing beside her was instantly overshadowed.
Mia Sutton was different. She was the type who was pleasant to look at, the kind of beautiful that grew on you.
Her public appeal was fantastic, and she was a bona fide academic ace.
She had even been the top scorer in Quilton’s college entrance exams, a fact that was widely reported at the time.
In the end, however, she chose a career in acting, using her outstanding scores to get into the performance department at The Central Academy of Performing Arts.
At the time, Rose Shaw had also seen great potential in this rising star and was preparing to sign her. But Aya Winters moved a step faster, signing Mia Sutton to her personal studio.
Stellaris hadn’t given up on the Golden Orchid Award for Best Newcomer, either.
The successive scandals involving Rhona Hughes and Raymond Ford had damaged the company’s reputation.
As the executive president of Stellaris, Rose Shaw was swift and decisive. Using her sharp eye and keen instincts for the industry, she invested in a popular IP and adapted it into a web series.
A dozen or so episodes had aired so far, and its ratings were steadily climbing. It shot into the public eye like a dark horse.
The female lead was played by Tiana Gable. Because it was an adaptation of a web novel that stayed faithful to the source material, its plot was a huge hit with younger audiences. Both the show and its lead actress skyrocketed to fame.
