It was because Sydney Shaw had found out that after her mother passed away, her younger sister had also been sent to an orphanage.

"Now, you have Ian Monroe and me," Evan Fairchild said softly.

Melody Monroe’s heart was captivated by the sound of Evan Fairchild’s voice.

She looked at him and slowly nodded.

She had given herself to him completely, and that affection, like a fine liquor, had only grown richer with time.

Her feelings for Evan Fairchild would only deepen.

However, she wouldn’t allow herself any extravagant hopes.

If one day he no longer needed her, all she would ask is that he give Ian back to her. Then, she would disappear from his world forever.

"Come back with me later, okay?"

"Can I... still live here?"

Evan Fairchild was confused.

She had already accepted him, so why did she insist on staying here?

’Does she still have feelings for Christopher Sterling?’

Although the thought infuriated him, he was still unwilling to force her.

He believed that sooner or later, he would replace Christopher Sterling and win her heart.

"Live wherever you want."

"Then... are you going back tonight?" Melody Monroe asked in a small voice.

"Wherever you live, I live." ’The good life is just beginning!’

Melody Monroe was speechless.

Suddenly, a knock came from the door.

Evan Fairchild stood up, walked over, and opened the door. Claire Walsh walked in, carrying a large suitcase.

"Mr. Fairchild, here are your clothes. I brought ten outfits, along with shoes and ties."

"Just put it there."

Claire Walsh set the suitcase down and left immediately.

Melody Monroe stared at the huge suitcase, her brow furrowed tightly.

’Is Evan Fairchild serious?!’

Evan Fairchild pulled the suitcase toward the master bedroom.

Melody Monroe hurried after him.

She saw him going through her closet, picking out the clothes that were already inside one by one and tossing them on the floor.

"These clothes are ugly. They don’t suit you. Get rid of them."

’What kind of style is this? So gaudy!’

"Don’t throw them away." Melody Monroe quickly gathered the clothes from the floor.

"What are you keeping them for?"

"I could... sell them." Melody Monroe’s voice grew quieter and quieter until the last word was almost inaudible.

Evan Fairchild already knew what she was planning to do with them.

He immediately snatched them from her arms, then proceeded to pull every single piece of clothing out of the closet and toss it aside!

If he didn’t throw out her old clothes, she would never wear the ones he bought for her.

It wasn’t just his clothes; she wouldn’t accept anything he bought.

The makeup sat untouched on the table, its caps never even unscrewed, to say nothing of everything else.

"Don’t throw them out! I can keep this one, and this one too." Melody Monroe tried to salvage a few items.

"Mr. Fairchild! If you throw everything away, what am I going to wear tomorrow!" Melody Monroe shouted.

Evan Fairchild stopped pulling out clothes and left a few pieces that he deemed barely acceptable.

"I’ll have Claire Walsh bring some of your clothes over tomorrow."

’You’re the boss. Whatever you say goes,’ Melody Monroe thought.

She walked out to the living room, deciding to ignore him and let him do whatever he wanted.

She just couldn’t understand.

Now that he had her, how had he become even more absurd than before?

Evan Fairchild came out, holding a pile of clothes.

To Melody Monroe, it was as if he were holding a pile of cash, and the sight made her heart ache.

She didn’t dare mention selling the clothes in front of him again; he wouldn’t listen even if she did.

"Don’t throw them in the trash can. There’s a clothing donation bin nearby. Put them in there so they can go to people in need."

"Okay." Evan Fairchild nodded and went downstairs to get rid of the clothes.

The moment his figure disappeared, Melody Monroe collapsed onto the sofa and let out a wail of anguish!
