Maeve secretly let out a sigh of relief. If the blueprint had been filled with words from another world, explaining it would have been much harder.
"The first blueprint is called the Hidden Pit Mechanism," Maeve explained. "It teaches us how to build concealed pit traps that can be used over and over again."
She pointed at one of the drawings. "Unlike ordinary pits, these don’t have to be dug again after every hunt. Once the trap is triggered, we can reset it in just a few minutes."
The hunters immediately leaned closer. One of them widened his eyes. "So the cover can be used again?"
Maeve nodded. "Yes. We only need to replace it after it becomes too damaged."
The crowd grew excited because that alone would save them countless hours of work.
Maeve then unrolled the second blueprint. "This one is called the Magic Alarm Stone."
The drawing showed a smooth stone carved with strange patterns, connected to many other stones by glowing lines.
"It can warn us whenever a large creature enters a selected area," she explained.
The tribe members exchanged surprised looks. "Warn us?" one of the warriors asked.
Maeve nodded. "If a large beast enters its detection range, the stone will make a loud sound. At the same time, it will send a pillar of colored light into the sky."
Gasps echoed throughout the crowd. "Even at night?"
"Yes."
"And what if we build more than one?"
Maeve smiled. "According to the Sky Mother’s blessing, these alarm stones can be linked together. If one detects danger, every connected alarm stone in the settlement will activate at the same time."
This time, even Ikarus, Axan, and Cerus couldn’t hide their surprise.
A warning system like this would give the tribe precious time to prepare before any wild beast reached the settlement.
"But before we can build any of this, we need to gather the materials first," Maeve said.
She then went through the list one by one, explaining everything they would need to build both the hidden pits and the alarm stones.
Among the required materials, they needed a large amount of wood.

Maeve forced herself to smile. "Alright!" she said, clapping her hands a few times. "Let’s get to work!"
She immediately started giving orders to her three husbands. "Ikarus, you’ll be in charge of cutting the wooden planks and applying everyone’s blood to them."
Ikarus nodded without hesitation. "I understand."
Maeve turned to Cerus. "Cerus, you’ll be in charge of hunting beasts..."
She suddenly stopped speaking because the blueprint had listed ’flexible beast tendons’ as one of the required materials, but it never said which kind of beast they were supposed to come from.
Maeve raised a hand, signaling Cerus to wait a moment. Then she quietly turned her attention to Pinky. ’What kind of beast are they supposed to hunt?’ she asked inwardly.
She didn’t even know which wild beasts had flexible tendons.
[Host, most large predators have strong tendons, but not all of them are flexible enough for the hidden pit mechanism.]

Maeve frowned. Just from the names alone, those wild beasts sounded like they had incredibly tough bodies.

Maeve let out a soft sigh. Even though she was still a little doubtful, she didn’t exactly have anyone else she could ask.

After finishing her conversation with Pinky, Maeve turned back to Cerus and said, "The tendons we need can be taken from three kinds of beasts: Long-Horned Runners, Stoneback Wolves, and Iron Antler Deer."
Maeve looked at Cerus with a hint of uncertainty. "Are you... familiar with those wild beasts?"
To be honest, she had never even seen any of them before, let alone hunted one.
But Cerus nodded right away. "Yes!" he said confidently. "I know all of those beasts. They’ve recently migrated back to Lumivale Forest, so I’m sure I can find them without much trouble."
"That’s a relief," Maeve said with a smile. "Then I’ll leave the hunting to you."
Cerus grinned and gave her a confident nod. "Don’t worry, wife. I’ll bring back everything we need."
Maeve then turned to Axan. "Axan, I’d like you to take charge of gathering the rest of the materials."
Axan nodded. "Which ones?"
Maeve looked back at the blueprint before answering. "We’ll need plenty of dry vines, grass, leaves, and loose soil to camouflage the pit traps. The covers have to blend in with the ground so the beasts won’t notice them."
Axan observed the drawings for a moment before nodding again. "I understand."
She continued, "We’ll also need smooth stones, hardwood, tree resin, and as many small mana crystals as we can find. We don’t have to collect everything today, but we should start as soon as possible."
The mana stones were basically just like Voryn Stones. They were ordinary stones that had been infused with Aether energy.
"I’ll organize several teams," Axan replied. "One team can gather vines and leaves near the forest, while another searches for resin and suitable stones."
