Chapter 38: The New Generation
`Year 3 - Day 1 - 0600`
`[Status: Headmaster Lira]`
`[Location: The Trash God Academy]`
`[Academy Population: 20,000 Students]`
`[Years Since Kael: 1 Year]`
`[Weather: Clear]`
The bell rang.
Not a normal bell.
Not gold.
Not crystal.
A piece of scrap metal, 2 meters long, hit with a hammer.
The exact sound Kael chose 2 years ago.
`CLANG`
20,000 students stood up at the same time.
`[Morning Assembly: BEGIN]`
`[Attendance: 100%]`
Lira walked onto the stage.
She wasn’t wearing gold robes.
She wasn’t wearing a crown.
She was wearing a welding apron.
Black. Burned.
Same as Kael used to wear.
Behind her: Ren.
Bigger now. Broader.
Scars across his arms and face.
Head of Security.
And Scrap.
Mark V.4: 5 meters tall.
Armor patched but glowing.
Eternal Guardian of the Academy.
Lira looked at 20,000 faces.
20,000 kids from slums, from nobles, from enemies.
All wearing the same uniform.
Gray. Simple.
With one patch: A piece of trash.
She took a deep breath.
"Good morning."
20,000 voices answered: "Good morning, Headmaster."
Lira smiled. It hurt a little.
"Today," she said, "we build."
The crowd cheered.
_Part 1: The New Students - Class 1-F_
`[Location: Workshop 0]`
`[Time: 0800]`
50 new students.
All F-Rank.
All from the slums.
All told their entire lives they were worthless.
They sat on the floor.
No chairs.
Staring at the rust and scrap around them.
Their teacher walked in.
16 years old.
Short.
Hands covered in burns.
Name: Mira.
"I’m Mira," she said. Voice steady.
"1 year ago I was you."
She held up a piece of rust.
"This is what they told me I was."
Then she held up a sword.
Beautiful. Glowing.
Made from that rust.
"Today I built this."
The 50 kids stared.
One boy, maybe 13, whispered: "How?"
Mira knelt in front of them.
"Kael Headmaster taught me."
She pointed to the statue in the courtyard.
"He taught me that trash doesn’t break."
"Now I teach you."
`[Lesson 1: See the Potential]`
For 6 hours, Mira taught them.
Not magic.
Not combat.
How to look at garbage and see a weapon.
How to look at yourself and see a God.
At the end, the 13 year old boy held up his own creation.
A small knife.
Made from a nail.
He was crying.
"I’m... I’m not trash?"
Mira hugged him.
"No. You’re not."
_Part 2: The Problem - The Iron Empire_
`[Alert: FOREIGN INVASION]`
`[Location: Eastern Border - 50km Away]`
`[Threat: The Iron Empire]`
`[Forces: 10,000 Soldiers, 100 War Mechs]`
3 months after Kael died.
The Iron Empire.
The same empire that fought the Academy 1 year ago.
They came back.
For "revenge".
For "justice".
Ren slammed his fist on the war table.
The table cracked.
"I’ll go crush them. 10 minutes."
Lira shook her head.
"No."
Ren stared. "What do you mean no?"
Lira walked to the window.
Looked at 20,000 students building.
"Kael didn’t build this place to fight again."
"He built it to build."
"Then what?" Ren asked. Angry.
Lira turned and smiled.
The same smile Kael used to have.
"We build something better."
`[Project: The Wall]`
`[Length: 50km]`
`[Height: 100m]`
`[Material: 100% Scrap]`
`[Builders: 20,000 Students]`
`[Time: 7 Days]`
_Part 3: 7 Days to Build The Wall_
`Day 1: The Plan - 0000`
20,000 students.
No fighting.
No weapons.
Just tools.
Mira drew the plan in the dirt.
"We build from here to here. 50km."
"100 meters high."
"Made entirely of what they throw away."
A student raised his hand.
"Can we do it?"
Lira answered.
"Kael built a God from trash in 1 year."
"We can build a Wall in 7 days."
`Day 2-6: The Build`
They worked in shifts.
24 hours.
No sleep.
Class 1-F built 1km.
By hand.
The 13 year old boy carried beams twice his size.
The Iron Empire watched from 50km away.
Scouts reported back:
"They’re... building?"
The General laughed.
"Let them. Then we destroy it."
`Day 7: The Completion - 2359`
`[The Wall: COMPLETE]`
50km of scrap.
100 meters high.
Glowing with 20,000 souls.
Runes carved by students.
It didn’t look like a weapon.
It looked like art.
The Iron Empire’s army marched forward.
10,000 soldiers.
100 War Mechs. 20 meters tall.
The General rode to the front.
"Lira! Surrender or we destroy you and your wall of garbage!"
Lira walked to the Wall.
Alone.
No armor.
"Try."
The General gave the order.
`[100 War Mechs: FIRE]`
`BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM`
1000 shells hit the Wall.
And vanished.
Absorbed.
Converted.
`[The Wall: [Counter-Build Protocol: ACTIVE]]`
The Wall glowed.
And shot the energy back.
10 times stronger.
`VWOOOOOM`
All 100 Mechs: destroyed.
No explosions.
Just... gone.
0 deaths.
The General dropped his sword.
_Part 4: 6 Months Later - The Iron Empire Joins_
`[Year 3 - Month 9]`
The Iron Empire didn’t surrender.
They asked to join.
The General knelt in front of Lira.
"Teach us how to build," he said.
"Teach us how to stop destroying."
Now 10,000 former soldiers were students.
Wearing gray uniforms.
Learning to weld instead of shoot.
`[Academy Population: 30,000]`
Ren trained them.
Hard.
But fair.
One ex-soldier asked him: "Why aren’t you killing us?"
Ren looked at the statue.
"Because that’s not what he would do."
_Part 5: The Letter_
`[Location: Headmaster’s Office]`
`[Time: Night]`
Lira was cleaning Kael’s old desk.
She found it.
Sealed with wax.
`[To be opened 1 year after my death]`
Her hands shook.
She opened it.
"To Lira,
If you’re reading this, I did it. I lived 6 months.
I know you’re scared. I know you think you can’t do this without me.
You can.
You already are.
20,000 students. A Wall that protects instead of kills. Enemies that became family.
That’s you. Not me.
I built the foundation.
You built the future.
Keep building.
Keep loving.
Keep teaching them that trash doesn’t break.
And Lira...
Thank you. For staying with me.
I’ll be watching.
Love,
Kael"
Lira cried.
For the first time in a year.
Ren came in. Heard her.
Put a hand on her shoulder.
"We’re doing good, right?"
Lira wiped her eyes.
And smiled.
A real smile.
"Yeah. We’re doing good."
_Part 6: The New Generation_
`[Year 4 - Day 1]`
`[Academy Population: 50,000]`
New students arrived.
From across the world.
From across the continent.
Mira was now an official instructor.
Ren was Head of Security and Combat.
Scrap taught Advanced Engineering.
And on the statue in the center of the Academy:
`[HE TAUGHT US THAT TRASH DOESN’T BREAK]`
`[WE TEACH THEM THE SAME]`
A new kid, 12 years old, F-Rank, from the desert, asked Mira:
"Who was he?"
Mira knelt down.
"He was trash."
"And he became a God."
"And now we are too."
The kid picked up a piece of scrap from the ground.
"Can I build too?"
Mira smiled.
The same smile Kael had.
"Yeah. Let’s build."
Behind her, 50,000 students picked up scrap.
`[THE TRASH GOD ERA: CONTINUES]`
`[GENERATION 2: BEGINS]`
To Be Continued...
