Lesson 24: The Trap

After eating at the Silver Bell Pavilion, Ray and Ashley returned to the Temple of Darkness around 5 p.m.

The Bishops of Azaro did not seem to have returned, and a quiet moment in the temple was returning.

The two rent a room at the temple and take turns to go to sleep.

Time passed without anything, and the night went on.

As Ray expected, nothing would happen that day, and the two would follow the steps and apologize to Chief Hales outside the temple before removing the alarm device they installed yesterday.

And he stretched out another thread as he pretended he was having a lot of trouble removing the songs.

As he entered the temple and packed his things, he installed a songko and completed the alarm device.

Tell the chief cleric that when the ringer rings, he wants the lights to swing and signal, and the Rays return to the guild. To make the request look like it had failed, after killing a little time in the Adventurer Guild, he headed to the Mercenary Guild to train to take his usual action.

"I think this far enough would be enough, but if you go back to the inn too soon, you'll be suspicious, so we'll train until about the usual time, then we'll just relax and go home"

When the two entered the mercenary guild, a call was made by Cutler Branch Manager.

When I rushed into the branch manager's office wondering what was going on, he said that he had decided to pay tribute to the traitor's crusade that attacked the baron.

"It was just fine. I just got word from the headquarters of Fonce (King's Capital of the Kingdom of Lax) that a gratuity had been decided for Ray. You don't change it by wanting cash."

When Ray laughs, Cutler Branch Manager moves on.

"Ten pieces of white gold, 10,000 C (krona). If that's good, I can give it to you, but if the jewels are better than the money, I can replace them."

"Thank you. Uh, it's okay with currency. But are you sure you want 10,000 C's?

"Oh, I don't mind. Instead, I was asking you to increase it more... if you'd like, sign here for me to receive it."

Receive a leather bag containing ten white gold coins and sign the receipt held by the branch manager.

He put the leather bag with the money straight into his hip pouch and headed to the training ground.

(10,000 C means 10 million yen... it's noisy, so I want to put it in the item box quickly, but it stands out here...)

I managed to find where no one was, use storage magic, and clear the item box of white gold coins.

After that, I hadn't had Shabby give me an archery in three days.

Until now, it was all spear training with anti-seron measures, but I was going to get the clue of Longsword, a long sword that I don't use much for Shabby, who is good at single-handed swords.

"Is that a long sword today? Right, he's got a sword on his corner waist. If you can use it as much as a spear, you can have a width in battle. All right, let's do it together."

He checked the item box once to see if there was even a name on the long sword, but there was no spear or armor-like name, it just came out with the long sword.

He remembered that time,

(You were a little disappointed then. I thought it might even come with a nice name... well, it looks good, and Ash said it looks good, so I guess it's a good thing...)

Although his long sword is unnamed, it is a delicacy forged in the finest steel and is so famous that it is not comparable to the long sword he sells to this city, but it is underrated due to the view of Ray, who is not deeply built on weapons, and Ashley, who is not very interested in one-handed swords.

From Shabby for about three hours in the afternoon, I get a clue.

Morning training with Ashley was also available to some extent, but the mentoring of the master of the main position is still improving quickly.

I just got a good sweat and headed to the inn. After 9 pm when we had dinner and took a little nap, the two quietly left the inn.

Near the Temple of Darkness, about 100 m from the cemetery, the two decided to hide in the shadow of a street tree.

The two decided to take turns sleeping, but outdoors the spring night breeze was cold enough to keep their capes tightly wrapped around them and outgrew the cold.

By the time the date changed, a signal from the temple, the way the lights were swinging, jumped into Ray's eyes, where he was sleeping.

"Ash, wake up. It's a signal from the temple. Apparently, things are going exactly as I thought they would."

Ray laughed and explained to Ashley, she also woke up quickly and the two of us quietly rushed to the cemetery.

In the cemetery, a small point of light was visible, and in the light thereof, three figures were visible. And the shadow was like a bamboo, and it looked like it was digging a hole.

"Hurry up. Let's get this over with."

"Be quiet! The temple is lit. Maybe they noticed."

"Hey, don't talk, keep an eye out"

All three are like men, they turn off the light source at hand and go further in their work with only the moonlight.

Ray and Ashley split into two hands, as they met, and Ray slowly approached the three. Ray's armor, Nixwestis, was excellent in silence, so Ashley, wearing metal armor that was prone to sound, hid away.

When Ray approached the three of them by a distance of about twenty meters, they also noticed the sound of someone approaching them, and who had done what.

"Who. Come out!

Ray did not answer it, and turned to those who spoke, silently unleashing the magic of flashing.

Though the distance is slightly farther than twenty meters, a source of sun-like light appears in the darkness of night, all three men holding their eyes and roaring screams of ”woo“.

They temporarily lost their eyesight.

The three men, blind and panicked, are turning right and left, bumping into each other by their allies and falling over.

"Damn it! You're blind! If you go either way, Owa!

"You're not bumping into me! Run anyway!"

Ray unleashed the magic of the light sphere over the gap, illuminating the entire cemetery.

At the edge of the cemetery, just opposite the place that was dug back yesterday, I can clearly see the three figures in a hurry.

He decided to hit the play so the grave vandals wouldn't insult him. Slightly reinforce your tone to make you think of yourself as a mercenary in the war.

"Don't move! Or a corpse-eating ghost (ghoul), so you don't get the word? Then we'll chop him up without a question!

When Ray said that, one man whose vision had not yet returned pulled a sword into the dark cloud.

"I don't know who, but there's only one. Kill this guy and you're gonna get slacker."

Two other men pull out their swords at that word, but the busy blind men just wave their swords, and they don't strike at all.

Ray thought about how he could be powerless without killing him, and decided to slash and tear his leg with a spear.

From the position where his opponent's sword, waving in the dark clouds, cannot reach him, carefully aiming around his tibia, slashing him down one by one.

If you hadn't been through the battle with Cylon, or exactly the battle with the medium ghost Orc, you might not have waved a spear in your face. But he had decided not to hate hurting people in order to live in this world.

The three men who were torn apart the inflated tibia "calves" screamed, one after the other abandoning their weapons and surrendering.

Slightly relieved by its appearance, he observes them carefully.

(It just looks like Gorotsky, but does it really have anything to do with light theism? Or by chance, are you just here to ruin the grave?

"You threw away all your weapons. Who asked you to?

No man starts talking when he interrogates.

He decided to hit another play.

"Right. If you just ask about the situation, one person is enough. Speaking of killing him by mistake as a corpse-eating ghost, I don't blame you, and I'll let you both die. Well, who's going to talk to me?

When he says that as innocently as he can, he sticks a spear in the right arm of the man closest to him.

The scream ”Gaa!" echoes in the cemetery.

I didn't mean to kill him, but when I was ready, he was waving his spear without showing hesitation. And keep playing.

"Whose right hand do you want next? You just need a mouth to talk, so you don't need an arm. Well..."

"Wow, okay, no, stop it! I'll talk, I'll talk..."

One man, a man wearing leather armor in his mid-twenties or so, lost his fear and tried to start the conversation. Ray was horrified because he wasn't willing to hurt people in vain any more, and approached the man to continue interrogating him.

That's when the dazzling light passes right in front of him. And a spear of light was piercing the belly of the man I was about to talk to.

”Gweh!" he said, not even screaming, and the man was desperate.

Ray slowly looks around to alert the enemies lurking around him.

Then suddenly the light overflowed from the top of the hill, about thirty meters away. Soon, the light became a golden spear wrapped around a dazzling light and flew towards him.

He easily dodges that spear of light, which is not very fast. And be wary of the next magic, put up a spear.

Shortly after he set himself up, an arrow of light struck him.

Its arrows fly at considerable speeds but are single shot and can easily be avoided due to distance away.

(Would Ash have noticed? I don't think there are just two of them...)

Besides the executioner of grave vandalism, they thought there could be a spectator and mouth sealer lurking in the event of failure.

If the grave havoc was not a corpse-eating ghost, use magic and a quiet approachable ray hunts down the executor. And Ashley had made it a vigilant sharing with no spectators in a slightly remote position.

You've decided that magic doesn't work for Ray, and you've finally unleashed magic on the executor.

He pulled the executor into the shadow of a grave sign, exposing himself to his enemies.

(This way, you'll be distracted by me and late for Ash to notice...)

Ashley began to be vigilant around him when he confirmed that Ray had rendered the three grave rough powerless.

(Stone would just be placed above the cemetery. The rest is to what extent you're hiding your power... but when you look at the slight surrender, you're using people who don't possess a lot of skill. So, there's one spectator. If you are an associate of the Temple of Light, you should be using magic...)

Her predictions hit brilliantly, and toward the Rays, spears and arrows of light fly.

While worried about Ray, she cautiously approached him to identify the point where the magic would be shot out and not make a sound.

A sphere of light launched by Ray illuminates the entire cemetery, but the places blocked by the trees are unbearable at their feet. Ashley climbs the hill quietly, but at the earliest possible pace, hiding herself in the trees.

Over the cemetery, dressed in black, a sorcerer-like man with a short cane was shooting magic at Ray, who was not fighting back.

Ashley had come about twenty meters away from the sorcerer obsessed with the attack. And looking at that magician,

(You're an amateur. I am obsessed with my attacks and neglect to be alert to my surroundings... for which I have magical powers. The chanting speed is pretty good too...... what do we do? That's about the only way I can get close without finding it... Ray's dodged enough. Do you want to circle up...)

She decided Ray could afford it and climbed further up the hill as she detoured.
