Lesson 35: To Rattley Village Again

After finishing their escorts, Ray and Ashley returned to Silver Bell Pavilion, the first boarding house in four days.

Silver Bell Pavilion, which had already stayed for more than twenty days in a row, was becoming like home to Ray.

With nostalgia, he asked Bianca, the damsel, for a room for two and took his time to dinner.

As promised for dinner, Darren and Tiff showed up and were supposed to drink together.

Darren and the others were always ranked higher than the inn they were staying in, and the food was good. Ray and Ashley were thriving as they tongue-in-cheek at the Silver Bell Pavilion dinner.

Tiff couldn't believe the fact that Ray was an adventurer in seventh grade and a mercenary in ninth grade,

"It's delicious. It's definitely some knight, Ray. I haven't seen you fight, but healing magic on that weapon. I don't care what you think. I think it's your boss from your house. I can't believe that's a rushing adventurer..."

Ray lit up, "That's not true. adventurers are fun and......" Darren, who is getting pretty drunk,

"That'll be fun. You should be able to work with Beppin, like Ashley. There were plenty of people in Rezam who were after Ashley."

Ashley blushes, but Tiff, who was listening on the side, was involved laughing, "It's my fault you're next door," he said.

The four of us had fun drinking and said we wished we could work together again, and Darren and the others went back to their own inn.

After dropping off the Darrens,

"That's really fun. If life goes on like this, you can stay here forever."

When Ray, a little drunk, says so, so does Ashley,

"Right. This malton is a good city. And there won't be any more trouble."

Ray nods and holds her.

For the first time in a long time, the two of them relaxed, spending the night.

The request from Rattley Village will come in as early as around 10 a.m.

The two slowly welcomed the morning and used their free time to head under the healer's ester.

You don't have a treatment job today, or Estelle, who seemed free, welcomed the two of us.

Ray went straight in, "Teach me the healing magic. I'll pay you as much as I can," he says, bowing his head.

In contrast, Estelle smiled, "Fine. In your spare time. I'll just accept your gratitude," he briefly acknowledged.

Ray thought it would be so easy, but before he changed his mind, he decided to start learning.

"Quick, but the magic of detoxification used water and tree magic, didn't it? What do you do with normal injuries?

Estelle didn't know what she was talking about, and she said, "You can use it, too, right?," he leans his neck.

"Mine is trendy. I'm going to play with the magic of light attributes, but I'm wondering if this is normal or if you're all using another good method..."

Estelle shrugged, "Oh, my God..."

"Okay. But we're all the same thing...... water and trees go well with the magic of healing. Light is too powerful and usually difficult to adjust..."

Estelle's story was that the healing magic method uses attributes that each healer had for himself, among which he explained that water and trees were compatible with healing.

Water makes circulation normal in the body, and trees activate vitality. The magic of light used by Ray also works faster than a tree in terms of revitalizing vitality, but light is difficult to adjust because if you misadjust it, you will burn the flesh the other way around. The temple of light, Phototheism, knitted a way to activate it stably, so it was said that using light for healing magic, but healing magic was difficult for uneducated magicians of light attributes.

Ray listened to the story,

(Do you basically feel that water is a medical procedure and trees a surgical procedure? You mean the light is omnipotent but difficult... I was lucky to be able to use it from the start... then Ash could have died if I had failed...)

Estelle's story goes on.

It will be about the healing magic of other attributes. In her explanation, healing magic itself is possible even in wind and earth, and fire and gold magic are not suitable for healing. It was said that healing was possible for dark attributes, but that I had never actually seen healing carried out with dark attributes.

"... in water attributes, people and animals think that the body is made of water. If you're sick or something, the idea is to purify the water itself. The idea of another tree is that the body grows and the injury grows and heals. Cutting a branch of a tree blocks the wound by growing the injured part so that the leaves come out."

"I feel like I know somehow...... but what about the magic of poisoning, no, detoxifying? I'm not sure.

"It's easy. It's an application of what I just said. Since the water is poisonous and cloudy, purify. Energize your weak body to grow. Combine these two to get rid of the" normal ”poison. But the magic of detoxification isn't universal either. For example, when spiritual power is applied to poison, it hardly works."

Ray didn't know what he was talking about, tilting his neck and saying, "The power of the Spirit?" and put it in his mouth.

"Yeah, I guess it's quicker to say curse. Undead poison can barely be purified by water and tree magic. It will require the magic of light..."

Estelle's description shows that a simple poison can cure water attributes alone, as long as it is before your body weakens. But for a curse made of dark magic, combining water and trees doesn't work.

The same applies even more to illness, if you have a simple cold or abdominal pain, you can almost cure it with the magic of water. If the power of the Spirit is applied to the source of the disease, it needs to be purified with the magic of its anti-attributes.

"Earlier, when you imagined regeneration in a tree, did you mean that you could be allowed to regenerate it even if you lost your arm or leg?

"Um, yeah. By reason, yes, but it's like I need to play it right away. I wonder if the body of the healer can remember the lost area. When I free up time, my body seems to assume that I've lost a spot. But I don't know much about regenerating defective areas because I can't do it without a great healer."

(Can't even a great healer like Estelle regenerate... you mean magic isn't omnipotent...)

After hearing the general explanation, he learns the spell to use for healing magic and the image.

Usually, the unchanging Ray had a good time remembering the spell.

"Wish on the Spirit of the water Fonce and the tree Albor. In the body of him, in the proverb..."

(When I cast a spell like that, I feel like I'm using magic. Unchanted is useful, but I don't feel like a “wizard"...)

I learn spells and images for about two hours, but I can't remember because of the many variations in spells.

(As for the image, I generally understood. I wasn't so wrong about purifying blood with my water and restoring strength with a tree. And then if you can successfully convey the image of when you play it to the Spirit, the healing magic isn't that hard......)

I just learned the rough stuff, and it's time to head to the guild.

After they thanked Estelle, they left her treatment center behind.

The remaining esters are:

(You're a really funny kid. Normally, I don't understand that my body is made of water... even though the fixed concept that my body is made of bone and meat interferes, that kid understood with his face that it's natural... and a spell. She was trying to remember the ”words” of the spell, no matter who she told her, but she was trying to remember the ”meaning”. It's like, "I wish I could make sense because I can talk to the Spirit”... really funny kid...)

Estelle promised to come back in a few days, she was beginning to be interested in the newest apprentice.

Ray and Ashley arrived at the Adventurers Guild at 10 a.m.

Exactly no adventurers and reception is idle.

As usual, I find Ethel, a face-to-face receptionist, and I hang up.

He said, "You asked us to nominate him."

"Yes, Lady Ashley and Lady Ray have received a request from the village chief of Chiaran in the village of Rattley. Do you know what it is?

When Ray says he hasn't heard the details,

"Okay. Let me explain now. The request is a crusade. It's a crusade of one serpent showing up on the shore of Lake Drameny, with no deadline. The reward is one hundred C (krona) per person, three meals are included during the request, and accommodation is free of charge at the village chief's residence."

When Ashley checks for information about the serpent,

"Unfortunately... it's a demon that lives around here, and I think the Blue Python, the equivalent of Grade Six Blue Serpent, hits it, but also the possibility of the Green Serpent, the equivalent of Grade Three Green Serpent in the back of the west mountain... but don't push it though"

Blue serpent "Blue Python" is a serpent demon whose whole body lives on the blue and green waterfront, ranging in size from five to ten m. It does not hold poison, etc., and tightening by winding is the main method of attack, it has a stiffer outer skin than Lizardman. The nature is relatively quiet and rarely attacks people except on an empty stomach.

Green Snake Dragon The Green Serpent is a beautiful serpent whose entire body is covered with bright emerald scales. I like to live in waterfalls and such in the mountains and rarely come out to people. It is more than fifteen meters in size and a fang with a powerful tail blow and paralysis poison is the weapon.

When they finished the reception, they decided not to borrow the horse because they did not know how many days it would take, but to walk to Rattley Village.

Returning to the inn to pack his bags, he took the lunch made for me by Lester, the innkeeper's master, and proceeded east down the street.

In the refreshing breeze of May, I walk relaxed.

Ray is

(It's more of a picnic or an excursion than a job. It's safe around here, and the weather is nice. I don't know what the latitude is around here, but what are the other seasons like?

He walked relaxed while talking to Ashley and arrived at Rattley Village around 3 p.m.

Entering Rattley Village, the fishermen who used to be are waving.

Ray waved in response as well, heading toward the village chief's house.

The chief of the village of Chiaran greets him and tells him that the serpent has come out again this morning, shriveling his cat ears and looking worried.

Ashley checks the exact location and time and goes to talk to the fisherman about seeing him.

The fisherman is a truthful looking man in his mid-forties, who will be horrified to explain this morning that a large, blue-green snake was swimming near the southwestern shore of Lake Drameny at about 5 a.m. before dawn.

Ashley said, "Don't you know how big it is? Have you seen the whole body?," he said.

"It took my head long enough to seem to swallow me whole. He had a face on the water, but I think he had a head over a meter tall... I haven't seen his whole body"

When we get the information from the fishermen, we head back to the village chief's house.

Ray asked what Ashley was going to do.

"Bigger than I thought. Maybe a green snake dragon. Either way, we can't fight on the water, so I'm going to go near the scene by the end of the day and be vigilant while camping"

Ray didn't know why he was going now, and said, "From now on?" and lean his neck.

"That's right. If I get out first thing tomorrow morning, I might run into him on the lake. Then it would be safer to go now."

"What do you do when you come out at night? Wouldn't that be worse?

"I'm going to borrow some magic props for the lights. Placing more in the camp would be fine, and I'd still rather be attacked on land than on water."

Let the village chief borrow the magic props of the lights and have them carried near the scene by fishing boat.

As the fisherman approaches the place, he gradually becomes restless and kicks around. When we got the Rays off the boat, we hurried back to the village without turning around either.

The sun is leaning considerably, and the woods are dimming.

He found a place that was likely to be suitable for the camp and immediately began to prepare for the camp.

Even when it comes to preparation, the firewood is given way in the village, there is no need to pick it up, Ray lights the fire and Ashley installs the magic props of the lights. When I was ready in about thirty minutes, it was pretty dark in the woods.

Ray was asking how to deal with the third-degree equivalent of a strong enemy, the Green Snake Dragon, while setting the pot on fire.

"In the meantime, I'm gonna make dinner, but worst of all, I need you to tell me what to do if it was Green Serpent Dragon."

"Right. I've never fought either, but I've heard the approximate way to deal with it. First, the Green Snake Dragon..."

Her operation was easy.

The avant-garde turns to himself and the rear guard to Ray. The Green Snake Dragon is highly defensive anyway. In addition to this, it has strong vitality, so it cannot be defeated by a half-breed attack.

The weakness was fire, so while Ashley was attracting enemies, Ray added an attack with the magic of the fire attribute.

Ray felt a little anxiety,

"If it was a green snake dragon, would my magic work? I think it's better to let the spear catch fire."

"Maybe so, but once we don't try to fight, we can't put in place measures. Unless it's Blue Serpent Blue Python, you'll have to be prepared for a long battle and look at the power of your opponent. Luckily, the Green Snake Dragon doesn't move so fast on land. If you feel threatened, run right away and you run away and you'll get away with it enough"

Ray was also convinced by that, saying "Roger," and cooking dinner on a bonfire.

After dinner, the two decided to take turns resting and Ray was to be the first to hit the alert.

(Sarpent or... will it be a subspecies of dragons? He said it was easier than Hydra for lack of regenerative abilities, but I struggled with Hydra a lot... when it got worse, should I run away and call for reinforcements and get rid of it? Anyway, I won't force it. That's all...)

Two shifts are made along the way, but the serpent is not originally attacked by any other demon, and dawns.

Ashley's words, "Ray, we're going to the lake," signaled after the camp and headed to the shore of the lake.
