Trinitas Mundus

Episode 26: The Value of Original Magic

After the first day of training, the Rays return to the city, talking soothingly with the company of the Fifth Squad on horseback.

(Suddenly it's a mock fight, then anti-magic training, and finally a game against the Knights. Too thick for a half-day event...... but that's a lot of fun. Well, when I get to work, I guess it's something else, but it's fun to say we have a lot of company)

He didn't have many friends in Japan and didn't really like collective action, but he recognized himself, without being particularly comfortable, and he was becoming satisfied with the current situation.

(I think it's cash myself. But relationships, maybe this is what they are)

But he was also feeling a little anxious about his troubles with the Knights, and with the powerful man called the Duke's house.

(But is it okay? of the Knights, which also pissed off the Duke family......)

As soon as I return to headquarters, Valeria is summoned to Hamish.

And when she came back, she was smiling like an evil kid who had a successful prank.

What Ray asked Alberic was that there had been protests from the Knights and Valeria had been reprimanded by Hamish for inciting the young captain of the Knights, Arwell Kilgaroho.

However, he was praised for winning the mock and was told that Valeria had left the captain's office with a foothold that seemed to skip.

"You have Hamish's face after Valeria left... Kuck, that was really funny. I was gonna scold you, but you're gonna get nicked and leave. He's got a face saying," Where did I go wrong... hehe "

(I knew this guy was weird. I wish I could tell you...... I'm having fun with Mr. Hamish, absolutely......)

That night, in the dining room, the young men of the Fifth Squad were at the centre and were thrilled by what was there that day.

When it comes to winning a mock battle with the Knights, it goes even louder. In particular, Hal, who actually participated, was proud of his fellow generations.

"At first, I was worried that I could do it with amazing people like the“ ladies, "but that was the only daughter of the captain, an exact instruction. I thought I'd be ready for a veteran knight like that, at first."

And when it comes to Stella,

"I couldn't afford to watch, but he said it was an awesome move. So are those two swords, but they're awesome at throwing swords. I can't believe you let them hit you in the face while flying beside you... that's younger than me. It's a little dimpled."

From all around, there is a voice of consent that says yes.

"But if those three fight for real, seriously, can we deal with a squadron or so of the Knights?

That would be loud, but Troy, who was listening beside him, pinches his mouth.

"A squadron could be a big one. But think about it. Your daughter is the avant-garde, Lord Stella is the guerrilla, Lord Ray is the rear guard... the sorcerer Lord Ray, who told the captain“ I don't want to fight on terms of distance ”, the cold-sweated Lord Stella, and the settled calm" ice lady. "If I wanted to deal with those three, I'd want at least twenty of them."

The young mercenaries around them recall the presence of Ray and Hamish, and they groan.

He was talking to Troy with a face like Hal had come up with something.

"With that said, Mr. Troy was training against magic, wasn't he? What about that one?

Troy remembered the time of his training,

"Oh, it wasn't the" coming after magic "I used on the regiment leader. It was normal magic, but that streak of fire is comparable to three magicians, graciously. Even Captain Valeria couldn't get close."

Everyone is surprised by the words.

"I don't think we can get very close if we don't get rid of the magic like the captain or, like Lord Stella, we get rid of everything. Well, the Fifth Squad should all be trained tomorrow, so look forward to it."

Then it got even more exciting on the topic of the three of us.

The next day, full training begins.

Ray was teamed up with various members to train them to collaborate.

The previous day's anti-magic training was also conducted, and by the end of the training, he would return to headquarters so tired that his body and mind would be hedged, but he liked this training, which he would do with the mercenaries of his generation.

The Fifth Squad changed their formation dramatically and the three Ray, Ashley and Stella were to join the Fifth Squad of the Fifth Squad. The squad leader would be served by Ashley and would be joined by a Bobcat female swordsman named Renzi and a young swordsman, Hal.

From what Ray had seen, Renzi was as tall as Stella - about a hundred and sixty cm tall - a woman with bright brown hair with pointed brown cat ears and well-moving eyes. Her weapon was a slightly shorter one-handed sword, a light warrior type used in conjunction with round shields, and when asked by the mercenaries around her, she talked about being twenty-seven years older than Ashley.

(Mr. Renzi is in fifth grade, too, and I wonder what you think Ash is the squad leader? He feels like he's bright, so I think he'll be fine...)

Ray and Ashley had problems with Stella. Because she only obeyed the two words and never even listened to Valeria's orders, the captain.

"What do you think we should do about Stella?

"Well, with either me or you, there's no problem... not necessarily"

positive offense, telling Stella to listen to other mercenaries as well, but

"I exist to protect Master Ray, Master Ashley. Listening to other people's orders could interfere with their mission."

There's no island to mount, and the two of them get even more worried about whether there's any good way.

Training will also be on the third day, and Ray will also be able to work together to the extent that he manages not to interfere with others.

The training of all five teams still left much to be desired, but the magicians, and their abilities as magicians, were recognized and blended into their companions.

That night - June 3 - Valeria, captain of the Fifth Squad, informed me that the Fifth Squad would be on escort duty from the day after tomorrow.

"The day after tomorrow, June 5th, we will be escorting the merchants. The destination is the village of Turok in the east. The convoy of supplies to the defensive garrison is subject to escort. Fifty carriages. We're only escorting the Fifth Squad."

Tension runs on the faces of the Fifth Squad, especially the veterans.

A strange Ray was asking Ashley, sitting next to him, why in a whisper.

"Is there a problem?

"Oh, the escort to the east, that's also for the large merchant corps, the number of escorts is low. From here to Bridgend - a regional city a hundred and seventy km northeast of Fonce - it's relatively safe, but it's also a bad road ahead, and it can come out to demons, bandits and even demons"

And as you follow your memories,

"From Bridgend to Turok is certainly about one hundred and seventy km. The only place we could all stay in the inn should have been about Bogby Village, Millis Village on the way. Everything else goes camping... considering that, this should be twice as many as fifty..."

Valeria's explanation goes on.

"It was originally planned to go as far as Bridgend, but with a" strong request ”from the Chamber of Commerce, it was decided to go as far as Turok. But the other squads have another job in them, making it difficult to increase their numbers. At the other end of the spectrum, they don't hire other mercenaries because they have an exclusive deal with the Mercenary Corps of Markat."

(You highlighted the strong request. Did you get a lay-in from somewhere? The Knights? Do you manage, Duke? Isn't it impossible to say you have an exclusive contract? Still, why don't we get more escorts when our own merchants are in danger?

"Tomorrow, no training. Allow free movement. Meet me in the courtyard the day after tomorrow at 7: 00 a.m. Questions?"

There will be no questions from the crew and it will be dissolved on the spot.

All of a sudden, the young mercenaries who got a vacation have a joyous look, but the veteran deputy captain Dougal has a look that chewed up the bitter bug.

(After all, aren't you convinced? But the captain (Mr. Hamish) admitted it well. Is there something behind it?

Ray had something hard to convince him of, and he was trying to catch Alberic, his deputy, and ask him what was going on.

"What do you mean? Ash says there are too few escorts."

Rarely does Alberic make a serious face.

"Oh, that story... looks like the Chamber of Commerce has been pressured by the Duke's house. Hamish was mad, too, but I can't turn the rest of the squad. I can pay about the cancellation fee, but the Chamber of Commerce made me cry. If you cancel this job, under pressure from the Duke's house, you won't be able to work at Fonce."

Ray's voice grows louder in that word.

"Oh, that's a terrible story! Can't an Alliance do anything at a time like this!

"Unfortunately...... there are four duke houses in this country, but the balance between those four duke houses and the power of the royal family is subtle. The Duke's family has more power than even the royal family can say. That's why it's so hard to be a guild."

Twilight on the way, he said, "There's nothing you can do?" In contrast to Ray, who hears, "Alberic hears him with a kid-like look in which the prank succeeds.

"From here on out, it's off the record for everyone. As a matter of fact, Hamish and I suddenly decided to go to Bockby Village for a visit. Oh, my God, that's three days later. You'd know if I told you this far, wouldn't you?

Ray nods small and exhales ho.

(If you two are Mr. Hamish and Mr. Alberic, you have more than ten mercenaries. If you make a stand, you will be pressured and harassed again, so you will follow in the name of going on an inspection. Still, is Mr. Hamish overprotective or really dangerous... well, if that Mr. Hamish will follow me, it doesn't seem dangerous)

That night, Ray and Ashley were thinking about their plans for tomorrow's holiday.

"What are we going to do tomorrow? Like relaxing?

"No, you're ready tomorrow from the day after. Necessary supplies such as food and camping tools will be prepared by the Chamber of Commerce or the regiment, but it is better to have everything else, portable food of your choice and spare clothing. There will be more camp ahead of us from Bridgand. Although June, it cools down considerably. You might want to have a thick blanket too."

"Okay. Then I'll be shopping tomorrow. Buy a little more, but with my storage magic, you won't get more luggage, and I'll buy what I might need."

"Right," Ashley murmured,

(What to do with Ray's special magic thing...... I'd like to reveal it to Father, Sister Val, and Brother Al...)

She turned to Ray,

"I think you should tell your fathers about your magic, what do you think?

Ray is confused by the sudden story.

"Suddenly, what?

Ashley has a serious face,

"Your magic can be quite a force of war. Storage magic and“ fireworks ”magic. This time it smells really bad. I'm thinking it might help."

(If you do use special magic, the range of tactics widens. The magic of water polo is special, and now I feel it, but how far should we talk...)

"Copy that. I think you should talk to Mr. Hamish and Mr. Valeria. If possible, you might want to have a look at it once. Why don't you ask me if I can get some time tomorrow?

Ashley also agreed and immediately went to talk to Hamish. And tomorrow morning, I decided to show Hamish and the others the magic of Ray.

Early the next morning, the Rays head to the training ground with three people: Hamish, Valeria and Alberic.

Sometimes in the early morning, the streets were just neglectfully walked by the pedestrians, with no usual outings, idle.

When you get to the training ground, Ray begins a brief explanation.

"Let's start with the noticeable“ fireworks ”. This was originally conceived to be used for signaling."

That's right. After I preface it, I launch the "fireworks” towards the sky.

Going up in the air with the sound of Hulu Hulu, reaching a height of about thirty m, a bursting sound of Pern sounds, and the sky blooms with large orange rings of flowers.

(Has your imagination improved or is it because you used it several times? Pretty pretty “flowers” blossomed. I'd look prettier in the night sky)

Ray was comfortable thinking about that.

But on the side, Hamish and Valeria looked hard and looked up at the sky.

(This much sound and light. If used for night raids, a considerable cholera effect can be expected. No, if you turn to the Horse Riders, that's all you can do to panic the horses. Ray doesn't seem to care much, but is this why Ash wanted to show you...)

(You're a really funny kid, Ray. This magic can be used in many ways depending on how you use it. Plus, I'm going to come up with more magic... and now I might be able to handle my next request...)

Because they were both immersed in their thoughts, Ray got worried about whether they could speak up or not.

(So did Ash, but I'm wondering if the magic of fireworks surprises me so much. Sure, it helped when I used it on bandits, but none of them are lethal, and it's hard to blind me... Flash is better as a blind eye, should I think about smokescreen or something?

Hamish was ignoring Ray and talking to Valeria and Alberic.

"What do you think?

To Hamish's inquiry, Alberic presents his noisy thoughts with a nicked face.

"Right. Very funny. Night raids, ambushes, retreats, they all have a purpose. Once you see it, if you hear all this noise in your ear, the command system is going to be able to rattle out, and you're going to be able to confuse the horses and ram them inside the position."

Valeria was uncommonly in tune with Alberic's light mouth and answered seriously.

"I agree. Conversely, if it were used by us, it would give us goosebumps."

"Right... I think so too. Ray, can you teach this magic to others?

Suddenly, he was told the story, and Ray was surprised,

"Eh, this is my original... no spells, and I think it's hard... sorry. I'm not sure. I've never been with a magician other than a healer."

Hamish flaunts his face, but soon returns to his original expression.

"Okay. Ray, this magic is forbidden to be used without Valeria's permission. Especially when the Demons find out. You got it."

Ray nods loudly and shows off another piece of storage magic he plans to show.

"This is more like a set with the magic team on my left hand than my original..."

While adding commentary, open the item box and remove spare clothes and tools from inside.

Hamish and the others opened their mouths with pokanes and no words. Even Alberic, who usually kept smiling, was stunned.

"I don't really know how much to get in, but I can put in roughly one meter square. Maybe we should go in a little bit more."

Hamish, who gave me back,

"Ho, who are you really? Can you even put in food or something? How much weight can you put in it? You feel your own weight?

Hamish throws questions early in the arrow succession.

"Food is fine, too. I've never weighed it, but if it's up to about 100kg, it looks fine. I don't feel the weight at all."

Hamish is shaking his neck sideways and whining about something with a bump.

Next to that, Alberic was finally back to his usual look.

"Ray, do you know how amazing this magic is? If all soldiers could use this, there would be a military revolution. If the water and food a soldier needs is roughly five kilograms a day, he can carry twenty days without any burden. Heavy Squad is no longer a weakness, and the speed of movement increases dramatically. This is amazing."

Ray's not good, he's not pinned.

"But this is a set with the magic team, and it doesn't seem reproducible?

"That's why. That's why you're in danger. If the Holy King Luke, the Empire Frog, knows something about it, you won't be caught and made the subject of research. In terms of research, Doctus - an academic city - could be targeted as well."

Ray shuddered brutally,

(I hope you don't smile and say horrible things. But I did find it dangerous to use it in public. All I know so far is these people, and I'll definitely stop using them in public from now on)

"I know how amazing your magic is. Besides the arrows of light I've shown you so far, Thunder" Gone, "and water polo, what else can you use the magic of an attack system?

When Hamish says so to squeeze it out,

"I have used spears of light, discs of light, and spheres of flame. Maybe we can do ice debris or stone spears or something, and we can use magic against multiple things like a flaming storm."

"Ok...... good to know that you are a rare magician. Al, what do you think we should do?

"Um, right. Can we use normal (...) attack magic? It's no surprise there's a magician in the Mercenary Corps. Maybe I should show you the magic of a magician once, Ray. Why don't you ask someone?

"Let's do that. When this mission is over, I'll arrange it. This time, unless you have Valeria's special instructions, make sure to use only the arrow of light and the thunderbolt," Ichizuchi ". Well, not in an emergency, but I'll leave that up to you."

"Copy that. Unless you're at a considerable disadvantage, I think you're less likely to use attack magic, but I'll keep that in mind for your liver."

The six left the training ground behind with little talk.
